Returning to your meditation practice.
As I am writing this,
I can admit that I am out of touch with my meditation practice.
It has been months since I have regularly taken the time to sit,
Be still,
And meditate.
I'm not sure what caused this,
But I am grateful that I am aware of this lost connection.
I am grateful that deep down,
The desire to find stillness has not left me.
And I am grateful to be guiding this meditation.
This experience that will help to bring me back to my practice,
And hopefully give you a hand as well.
It is okay to become disconnected from your meditation practice.
Say these words to yourself out loud.
It is okay to become disconnected from my meditation practice.
Placing both hands over your heart now,
Say it again.
Say it again.
It is okay to become disconnected from my meditation practice.
You are here now.
This is progress.
And I am so proud of you.
Let's bring in a gentle track.
Allow the music to calm you.
Draw you deeper into this moment.
Relaxed.
Closing your eyes if you haven't done so already.
If your hands are still on your hearts,
You may rest them on your lap now.
And let's take some deep breaths.
Try your best to stay present with the physical sensations of the breath moving in and out,
As well as the short holds in between.
So now,
Take a deep breath in.
And out.
Deep breath in.
And out.
Staying focused on the movement of your breath.
In.
And out.
In.
And out.
Last one.
In.
Hold for just a moment longer.
And a long breath out.
And out.
Returning your breath to its natural pace.
Continuing to rest your focus on your breath.
If it helps,
You can think to yourself.
In on each in-breath and out on each out-breath.
If you lose connection to your focus,
Gently bring yourself back.
Back to the breath.
In and out.
At peace.
And out.
You're doing it.
You're meditating again.
Congratulations.
We'll begin to close this meditation and slowly come back.
As you do so,
Go ahead and give yourself a pat on the back.
Or maybe a hug.
Why not do both?
Then,
Inviting more movement.
Bringing yourself back.
And when you're ready,
Go ahead and open your eyes.
Welcome back.
And again,
Congratulations.
You just meditated.
It may have been a week,
Some months,
Maybe even years since you have done so.
But you showed up today and you know that you can keep showing up.
Keep choosing stillness.
Keep choosing peace.
So that you may live a better life.
I love you.
I thank you so much for meditating with me today.
Be well,
My friends.
Bye-bye.
