Hi,
I'm Brian Lowell French,
Here to share a Mindful Minute with you.
This is a short mindfulness practice designed to do while you are working to create some calm and focus.
This releasing the tension Mindful Minute is done by conducting a quick mental body scan to locate where tension is being held and then releasing it.
It may help to close your eyes or lower your gaze to lessen distraction.
Begin by focusing your attention on your head area and consider if you are narrowing your eyes,
Clenching your jaw,
Or straining your neck,
And soften the muscles to release the tension.
Now consider your shoulders,
And if they are raised,
Intentionally loosen them.
Now focus on the arms and the hands,
And if they are tensed,
Soften them.
Next consider your torso in both the back and front,
Releasing any tension that's being held and focusing on the stomach area to relax your muscles.
Now concentrate on the lower half of the body and loosen any tensed areas.
Doing this quick body scan periodically throughout the day will help to discover when stress is starting to build within the body so it can be softened.
You can do this simple mindfulness practice anytime and anywhere to create more focus and more calm.
Be well.
