Welcome.

Namaste.

Today we will discuss the mantra om shrim maha-lakshmaye namah,

Which is to bring abundance,

To manifest abundance within our lives.

This can be abundance of wealth,

Health,

Opportunities to love and serve others.

It can be personalized.

You can call into your life whatever it is you feel you need or want or desire.

So let's find a comfortable position and bring your awareness to your breath.

To chant,

To sing,

To use mantras,

We need to use the power of breath.

Breath is what allows us to sing.

It sustains us.

It nourishes us and it energizes the mantra.

It gives it power.

Breath is power.

In the yoga tradition,

Breath is defined as prana,

Which means life force.

It's an energy.

It's the energy that fuels or animates these mantras.

Mantras are not just sounds.

They're supercharged with the power of breath,

So they elevate the level of sound to become resonant,

Vibratory,

Energetic.

As you find your comfortable seat,

As you focus on your breath as a source of power or energy,

Bring awareness to your third eye,

The space between the eyebrows,

And perhaps close your eyes.

Keep breathing with awareness.

Keep focusing on your third eye.

This area is called the ajna chakra.

This is our seat of intuition,

Wisdom,

Balance.

The first word of the mantra we will use today is om.

Om is the sound associated with the third eye.

We should know where we're going to begin from today.

If we're going to begin our chant with the sound or syllable om,

We need to know where it comes from.

It comes from the third eye,

Third eye's mystical vision,

Divine insight.

Seeing life from our two physical eyes,

This perspective is usually influenced by past experiences or future ideas,

Worries,

Or concerns.

But with the eyes closed,

The two physical eyes closed,

We are practicing something called pratyahara,

Control of the senses,

And we tune into third eye vision,

Divine vision.

If we are going to use a mantra like om shreem mahalakshmaye namaha,

We want to chant from a place of purity,

Insight,

Wisdom,

Balance.

Let's take an inhale together,

And exhale.

Release the breath.

Again,

Inhale,

And exhale.

Release the breath.

One last time,

Inhale,

And exhale.

The words we will use today,

Om shreem mahalakshmaye namaha.

This mantra calls upon Lakshmi,

A goddess of wealth,

To grant us what we wish for,

Material things,

Spiritual things,

Abundance.

This is a mantra for manifestation.

Whatever you're looking for in your life,

You can use this mantra to call it in,

To bring it to you.

Om is the sound of creation.

Shreem is the seed mantra for the goddess Lakshmi.

Shreem is thought to bring beauty and wealth and prosperity and abundance.

Maha means great.

Lakshmaye is a variation on the name Lakshmi,

The goddess of abundance.

To call out her name or that name,

Lakshmaye,

Is to offer salutations or adoration to the idea or quality of abundance and wealth.

Namaha is to bow,

It's to revere,

It's salutations,

It's to honor.

Om shreem mahalakshmaye namaha.

This can be translated as salutations to the great Lakshmi.

This statement or mantra actually comes from the Rig Veda,

One of the oldest manuscripts.

Let's begin to chant.

Relax the body.

Relax your mind.

Relax your heart.

Think of the qualities we've talked about.

Abundance,

Wealth,

Prosperity.

Think of claiming these things as your own,

Calling these things into your life,

Visualizing whatever it is you feel you need becoming yours,

Already being yours.

If you're looking for love,

Know that love is here now,

Looking for you.

If you're looking for wealth,

Wealth is here.

It's here for you.

If you're looking for health,

Health is here.

Health is available.

The way these things come to us will come the way they come.

If we can let go of our attachments of how they come,

Or when they come,

Or in what form they come,

We will find contentment,

And this mantra will have a lot of power.

As best as you can,

Release any attachments you may have to what it is you expect to receive,

And enjoy the process of singing from your heart,

Asking for what you need,

And trusting that your higher power,

God,

The universe,

Lakshmi,

Will deliver,

Will bring you what you need.

Please repeat after me.

OM SHREEM MAHA LAKSHMAYE NAMAHA OM SHREEM MAHA LAKSHMAYE NAMAHA OM SHREEM MAHA LAKSHMAYE NAMAHA Let's put this together.

OM SHREEM MAHA LAKSHMAYE NAMAHA OM SHREEM MAHA LAKSHMAYE NAMAHA OM SHREEM MAHA LAKSHMAYE NAMAHA For the next few moments,

Continue to repeat this chant to yourself.

You can sing it out loud or recite it silently.

You can go slow or fast.

Find your own melody.

Sing from your heart.

OM SHREEM MAHA LAKSHMAYE NAMAHA OM SHREEM MAHA LAKSHMAYE NAMAHA OM SHREEM MAHA LAKSHMAYE NAMAHA Begin to bring awareness back to the present moment.

Let's take an inhale together and exhale.

Let it go.

We've chanted a very powerful mantra today.

We've put a lot of energy out into the universe.

Calling for abundance,

Wealth,

Prosperity,

And trusting this process.

And when these things come or how they come,

We need to trust that process as well.

We can rest today knowing we did the work we need to do,

Which is asking for what we need.

Finding courage to put that vibration or energy or request out into the universe.

We've done our job today with an abundance mindset.

When you're ready,

Gently blink your eyes open.

I wish abundance for you today.

Prosperity,

Wealth,

Health,

Love.

All things you wish for yourself,

May they come to you.

Namaste.
