Find a comfortable position.
Either seated or lying down.
Close the eyes.
Relax the muscles around the eyes.
Relax the jaw.
If you're seated,
Relax the shoulders.
If you're lying down,
Think of melting down into the earth.
Bring your awareness to the breath.
Notice the quality of the breath.
With every inhale,
The body fills and expands.
It opens to receive.
With every exhale,
The body relaxes,
Contracts,
And surrenders.
Let's go.
Continue to breathe deeply.
Breathe consciously.
As you breathe,
Know that the air you breathe is also the wind.
The wind that moves through the trees.
The wind that moves across the flowers and the fields.
The air we breathe is the wind that moves across the surface of the ocean.
Helps to create the waves.
As we breathe,
We take the power of the wind inside the body.
With every breath,
We harness the power of the wind.
We use that power when we speak,
When we sing.
The breath is the force of life.
As we sit in meditation,
Contemplate the power of the breath,
The essence of life inside the body.
Know that you are filled with every breath,
Bearing witness that you are filled with the force of life.
The breath is the force of life.
The breath is the force of life.
As you meditate,
As thoughts come and go,
Just like the wind,
Thoughts are not meant to stay for very long.
They're meant to pass through the landscape of the mind.
Just as the wind passes through the forest,
Passes through the trees,
Makes its presence known,
Travels on.
Just like we're not meant to hold on to the wind,
To hold on to the breath,
We're not meant to hold on to our thoughts.
So if there's one thought that's staying around a little too long,
One thought that you're holding on to,
With your next exhale,
Release the thought with the breath.
With the next inhale,
Feel a new breath.
Feel the space that it creates inside the body,
Inside the mind.
Our natural state is calm,
Balance,
Peace.
Our natural state is union with God,
With the universe,
With all of creation.
Any thoughts that we have that move us away from our natural state can be removed with awareness of the breath.
And we become conscious of the breath.
We have the ability to come home to our natural state,
To our truest self.
Continue breathing deeply,
Consciously.
And when you feel called to,
When you feel an impulse from within,
You can open the eyes and begin to take in everything around you.
When you do,
Notice how everything seems different.
After only a few moments of meditation,
Only after a few moments of focusing on the breath,
The wind,
We see things differently.
And as best as we can,
We try to take this awareness with us,
Off our meditation cushion,
Off our yoga mat,
Into the world.
So wherever we look,
We look with these same eyes of compassion that we have right now,
These same eyes of oneness.
Thank you for sharing your practice with me.
Namaste.
