Let's take a few moments and find a comfortable position.
Settle in to your position and close the eyes.
Take a deep inhale any way you like and exhale,
Let it go.
Again,
Inhale and exhale,
Let it go.
One last time on your own,
Take an inhale and exhale,
Release.
Begin to relax the physical body.
Allow the shoulders to melt away from the ears.
Relax the muscles around the eyes.
Soften the jaw.
Notice the quality of the breath.
Notice the quality of stillness.
Notice the quality of the mind.
There is no expectation in meditation.
Meditation is to look deeply,
To go within.
Oftentimes we have an idea,
Something we wish to achieve in meditation.
Sometimes we wish to find calm,
Relaxation,
Balance,
Peace.
But the moment we close our eyes,
We're reminded of all the things we need to do,
Our troubles,
Our worries,
Our concerns.
Meditation is never a quick fix.
Meditation never promises to solve all of our problems.
But it does allow for a moment of stillness,
And within that moment of stillness,
Somehow we start to find the answers that we need.
So for the next few moments,
See if you can relax as best as you can,
Enjoy the stillness,
Releasing attachment to any worries,
Concerns,
Fears,
Anything that happened before this moment,
And anything yet to happen after this moment.
Give yourself that gift to remain present with the breath in this space,
Remaining still as best as you can.
Let's take another deep inhale together.
Exhale let it go.
Exhale let it go.
Exhale let it go.
Our natural state of being is calm,
Balance,
Peace.
Meditation is a returning home to the essence of who we are,
Our natural state.
We can't find this in chaos,
In noise.
We can hardly ever find this moving about the world the way that most of us do.
What an amazing gift that all we need to do is remain still for just a few moments,
Only a few minutes.
And we get to look deeply,
And we get to come home to who we truly are.
And then as best as we can,
We try to harness what we find.
We gather the calm.
We take the balance and the peace with us out into the world.
And then we do it again the next day,
And the next time we meditate,
And the next day.
Meditation is not a sprint.
It's not a quick fix.
It's a lifetime practice.
Each time we sit,
This is a gift that we give to ourselves,
A moment of calm,
A moment of stillness that informs and influences all of our other remaining moments of the day.
Let's take a deep inhale together.
Exhale,
Let it go.
If the eyes are closed,
Gently blink the eyes open.
Have a beautiful day.
