This meditation starts with your breath in order to help you both become present and feel gratitude for the present moment. It can be hard to not wish for things to be different, especially when life gets hard. Finding gratitude for the present helps us recognize that we are perfect as we are, in this moment, whatever our current mood, career, frustrations, and joys.

Find a comfortable seat.

Lengthen your spine,

Lift through your heart.

Relax your neck and shoulders.

Relax your hands.

Bring your attention to your breath.

Notice whatever there is to notice about your breath.

Maybe you choose to focus on the expansion of your ribcage.

Maybe you focus on the breath coming in and out of your nose.

Maybe you focus on relaxing the body with each exhale,

Lengthening the body with each inhale.

Find your breath and draw your focus to it.

If your mind wanders or you start thinking about something else,

Just simply come back to the breath.

Use the breath to anchor you here in this moment,

In this body,

In this space.

You're institutions of thinking,

Measurement,

Confidence and trust are the best that you can offer.

To find out why your breath is so important,

Well,

Thanks to India,

You've learned as a programmer that you may listen to colours from the series.

Keep your focus on your breath.

And now we're just going to add a mantra.

Maybe on the inhale,

You'll think,

I am.

And on the exhale,

You'll think here.

I am here.

I am here.

And both the breath and the mantra to stay present,

To stay here.

I am here.

We'll just switch the mantra to I am love.

Feeling free to substitute something else.

Otherwise I am on the inhale.

I am here.

I am love.

I am perfect.

I have value just as I am here in this moment,

In this body,

With my current mood,

My current career,

My current state of mind and situation.

I am perfect as I am.

I am love.

I am here.

I am grateful for the lessons I am learning in the moments that I am witnessing.

I'm grateful for the feelings of joy,

However fleeting.

I'm grateful for the challenges that are shaping me,

Teaching me.

I am grateful for this moment,

This me.
