Hello and welcome to today's meditation.
My name is Leila and I will guide you through today's Letting Go by the Like meditation.
This practice will help you to let go of your thoughts,
Of your worries,
Relax and cultivate some self-acceptance and compassion for yourself.
So whenever you're ready I'll ask you to close your eyes and start to focus on your body.
Let go of your eyes,
Let go of your shoulders,
Drop them,
Your jaw,
Your tongue,
Let go of your arms and your legs.
If you're sitting then feel the earth beneath your feet,
How they connect.
And for the first minute I will ask you to invite all the thoughts into your space that are trying to rush through your head.
Just let them be,
Let them go wherever they want to go,
Just free flow.
And you will notice that it will slow down.
You don't need to have any expectations,
Don't judge your thoughts.
Just let them be in the present moment.
Once you're ready I want you to imagine that you're walking through the forest,
The woods,
A small path,
You can hear the birds singing,
You can feel a slight breeze,
You can hear the breeze as it touches the trees,
You can see the trees dancing in the breeze and you're just walking on this path.
You don't have to be anywhere,
There's no schedule,
There's nothing to do,
This is just a walk in nature to connect,
To connect with nature where we all came from.
As you keep walking in the distance you can see the woods end and it's all clear blue skies and green and in the distance you can see a lake and just walk towards that lake in your own pace,
There's no rush,
You don't need to be anywhere.
Once you arrive to that lake you can see how peaceful it is,
There's no waves,
Just peaceful and calm,
You can see the sun shimmering on its surface,
You might see birds in the distance,
There's no one else just you at this lake.
And I invite you to sit down at the edge of the lake,
Sit as close as you like,
Just observe for a second.
And as you look to the right you can see some paper and pen next to you,
You can pick them up,
They're there for you.
And I'll ask you to write down all your worries,
Expectations,
Judgment,
Everything that keeps you up at night that you experienced today,
Write them down on the papers,
You can use as many as you like.
And once you have a few things down on the paper,
Just pick the first page up and start to fold it up into a paper boat.
I will give you time to finish with everything else after.
So once you have the first paper boat,
I'll ask you to put it on the water,
On the lake,
Thank it for teaching you what you had to learn,
But tell it that you have to let it go now.
And just notice how the boat starts to flow in the water and it's getting further and further away from you.
You can barely see it now and as it is swimming past,
Swimming away from you,
You can feel all the emotions that you put on the paper,
Everything is fading away too,
They are not yours anymore.
And now you can't see the boat anymore,
It's gone,
It belongs to the water now.
I will give you the next couple of minutes to write down everything else that you want to write down on those papers.
And once you're ready,
Fold them all into a paper boat,
Thank them for being there for you and let them all go.
Write down everything that is not part of your true self,
That you've been telling yourself that you know is not true,
All the judgments,
All the negative things that you've been telling yourself,
All the hurt expectations,
Put them all on the paper.
And watch them leave you,
Slowly swim past as paper boats into the distance.
And as they're leaving,
You can feel all those emotions fading as you're getting lighter and lighter until you can't see them anymore.
And now all you can feel is love and acceptance for yourself and it's glowing out from you.
It's surrounding you through this golden light,
It's all around you.
And I invite you to extend this love to your loved ones,
To the people in your street,
In your city,
To the people in your country,
And to the people in the world.
And that all this love that you can feel right now,
This love is healing and it fills out all the space that you have now,
Now that you let go of everything that's holding you back.
Whenever you're ready,
I'll ask you to stand up,
Have a last look at the lake,
How peaceful it is and how calm it is.
So start walking back to the forest,
To the woods.
And you can see the sun coming through the trees,
Branches,
Touching your face,
You can hear the birds singing,
And everything is just so alive but so peaceful,
Just like you.
And now that you've been walking to the woods for a while,
I want you to come back to the present moment slowly,
Slowly to this room in your body.
You can start to wiggle your toes,
Your fingers,
And start to feel your body again,
Your legs,
Your arms.
You can take a few deep breaths,
Just to let everything go.
They might be still stuck in your body.
Take a deep breath and let it all go with a big sigh.
And if you're ready,
Open your eyes and just enjoy this moment for a second.
I'm so grateful that you chose to spend this time with me and I hope that I will see you next time.
