Hello dear friends,
And thank you for joining me for today's practice and permission to let go of meditation.
Before we begin,
Please find your way into a comfortable position,
Either seated with your back straight or laying flat.
Grab any additional cushions and blankets you feel you may need,
And most importantly,
Get comfortable.
Together,
Let's meet on an inhale,
Taking a deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Releasing out the energy of the day thus far,
The energy we carry.
Once more inhaling in through the nose and out the mouth.
Good.
Feel free to transition from breathing out of your mouth to your nose.
Notice any shifts in energy,
Thoughts,
Emotions,
And feelings.
Both positive and negative.
Any sensations.
Breathe into them.
Inhale.
And completely release on the exhale.
Continue to breathe deeply in through the nose,
Allowing the breath to travel down into your lower belly,
Up to the lower chest,
Upper chest,
And exhaling out of the nose,
Feeling the release.
Take the releasing of a pressure valve.
You have permission to fully release in this moment.
Regarded in the salient March.
What does it feel like when others give us the permission to let go?
For many of us,
We find it hard to take the cap off the pressure valve ourselves inside of us.
Instead,
We wind ourselves up even more,
Trying to solve our problems and challenges by ignoring a major aspect of the solution.
Self-recognition and granting self-permission.
We hear the term let go,
But beyond understanding it intellectually,
We just can't seem to grasp it in our bones.
Embody the meaning behind the words of letting go.
Bring it into our being.
Instead,
We are taught to look towards the external world for validation and permission to rest,
To stop.
And in our current fast-paced world,
We aren't taught to take enough time for ourselves,
Or that we are in charge of giving ourselves the permission to let go.
That in this world,
Everything we experience and feel truly stems from within us.
So as you breathe,
Notice any areas of tension,
Raising thoughts,
Uncomfortable sensations,
And give yourself the permission to let these go.
Breathe in,
Repeating in your mind,
I am free.
Pausing gently at the top of your inhale,
And exhaling through your nose,
Repeating,
I let go.
As you exhale,
Imagine all of your tension and pain dissolving off of you,
Into the earth,
The ground underneath you.
And it's just melting off more and more as you let go,
And give yourself the permission to loosen the grip on life.
Give yourself the permission to be imperfect,
To be human,
And ultimately,
Just to be.
As you let go,
Release judgments,
Criticisms,
Thoughts of perfectionism,
Expectations,
Pains,
Beliefs,
Thoughts,
Emotions.
You don't need anyone else's permission to do this,
To release the pain you have been holding onto,
That which is the cause of your own suffering.
You may think with your mind that you need something,
Just that apology,
Just to go back and change the outcome of an event,
To change a reaction.
But in reality,
All you really need to do is loosen your grip on these thoughts.
Because your grip is what is keeping you linked to whatever is holding you back,
Not those other people,
Not those situations,
But you.
You don't need anyone else's permission,
But your own,
To be free of suffering.
So at this time,
In this sacred space,
Envision giving yourself that permission that you have been looking for in your life,
And be open to whatever comes to receive.
And notice what happens.
Notice how your body and mind respond,
Whether they agree or not.
Notice this and continue to allow this to happen by giving yourself up to the present,
By giving yourself permission to exist,
To be.
If at any point your mind wanders,
Bring it back gently with no judgement or criticism.
Bring it back to the breath,
Knowing that this is a practice after all.
Continue to breathe,
And at this time,
Feel free to release the affirmations,
I am free on the inhale,
And I let go on the exhale,
If you haven't already done so.
Come back to a place of witnessing,
And notice with each breath,
Allowing yourself to be unrestricted,
Resting in the awareness of letting go,
And surrendering by giving yourself permission.
Softly begin to bring your focus back to your breath by taking a deep inhale into the lower belly,
And exhaling out your mouth.
Bring your awareness back to your body in this space.
Be gentle and approach your body with care as you transition from the sacred meditation space to the sacred living present moment.
Pause before stepping back out into the world to appreciate and send gratitude out to yourself for taking the time in your day to practice letting go of the grip,
And giving yourself permission to be.
The practice of letting go is not easy,
My dear ones,
But with dedication to compassionately approaching yourself,
The practice of letting go becomes a safe space to come back to over and over again.
May you have a wonderful day or night wherever you may be,
And remember no matter who you are and where you are,
You always have the choice to breathe and ground.
Take care.
