Hello and welcome to your Yoga Nidra practice for deepening connection.

Begin by taking the posture of Shavasana,

Lying on your back,

With your arms gently resting at your sides and palms turned up to face the sky.

Take in any additional props that you need for support to set your body up comfortably so that you're able to lie in stillness,

Allowing the body to fall asleep and your awareness to wake.

Lying on your back in stillness,

Begin to turn your attention to your breath now.

Begin to feel into any places where the breath brushes up against constriction,

Where it meets with tension or grazes across anything that feels hardened or calcified.

And whether that exists in your body or whether it is located someplace in your mind or in the landscape of your heart,

With these next few moments and your conscious attention on your breath,

Begin to feel them soften and clear away.

Feel the physical body softening,

Resting deeper and deeper into all of the support that you have so generously set up underneath yourself.

And allow yourself to relinquish any last places of gripping or holding that you notice in your system.

And into the soft space that you have now cultivated,

Begin to feel bubbling up from deep within you,

A deep feeling of joy,

A kind of effervescent and impenetrable joy that holds and allows for everything,

That welcomes and invites everything.

Feel yourself starting to fill up and be saturated by this joy.

And as you continue to call in this inexhaustible joy into your body,

Into your mind,

And into your heart,

Let it fill every last nook and cranny of your being.

And it is into this full field of joy that you will plant your sankalpa in just a moment.

If sankalpa is new to you,

It is a short statement of positive intention,

Beginning with I or I am describing a state that you wish to cultivate or have a bigger experience of.

Whatever jumps out at you as what it is that you desire or what you need for your healing is perfect.

Drop back into that deep,

Full joy that you have been building in your system.

Consciously,

Joyfully now,

Speak that sankalpa into that space of joy silently in your mind three times now.

Let that joy begin to flow freely.

And as it naturally starts to dissipate,

Feel the last remaining vestiges of that joy that you cultivated as it tucks itself away deep in the well of your heart,

Always available to you in any moment that you should choose it.

Feel into the grounded space of your body now.

You'll hear me name various points on your body.

And as you hear each one called,

Allow your attention and your awareness to freely move,

To follow the cues,

To fill that space completely and then be released freely into the next one.

Beginning on your right,

Right hand thumb,

Right index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

Pinky finger,

The palm of your right hand,

The back of your right hand,

Your whole right hand,

Your whole right hand,

Your whole right hand,

Your right forearm,

Upper arm and shoulder,

Right ribs,

Right waist,

Right hip,

Right upper leg,

Lower leg,

The top of your right foot,

Your right foot big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe and fifth toe,

The sole of your right foot,

Your whole right foot,

Your whole right foot,

Your whole right foot,

The whole right side of your body as one.

Moving to the left,

Left hand thumb,

Left index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

And pinky finger,

The palm of your left hand,

The back of your left hand,

Your whole left hand,

Your whole left hand,

Your whole left hand,

Left forearm,

Upper arm and shoulder,

Left ribs,

Waist and hip,

Left upper leg,

Lower leg,

The top of your left foot,

Your left foot big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe and fifth toe,

The sole of your left foot,

Your whole left foot,

Your whole left foot,

Your whole left foot,

The whole left side of your body as one,

The backs of your legs,

The back of your pelvis,

The length of your spine,

The back of your skull,

Crown of your head,

Your forehead,

Eyebrows,

Cheek bones,

The tip of your nose,

Upper lip and lower lip,

The ridge of your jawline,

The front of your throat,

The front of your chest,

The front of your belly and the roots of your sit bones,

Your whole body as one,

Your whole body as one,

Your whole body as one.

Begin to turn your attention to your breath now.

Connect back into the physical wave of your breath first,

Feeling the expansion of your belly and your waist,

The lift of your chest on your inhale and the soft release and dropping back of your exhale.

More of these next few breaths,

Connect to that physical wave of your breath.

Now,

Begin to turn your attention to the more subtle elements and impact of your breath as you feel on each inhale the wakefulness and the vibrancy that that inhale brings in and that soft clearing quality of each exhale as it releases and alleviates something.

For these next few breaths,

Feel into those qualities,

The more subtle aspects that speak to you of the way that prana moves through your body,

Inhaling vibrancy and wakefulness,

Feeling to clear,

Release and make space.

Then drop your attention yet another layer more subtle.

From the center where your breath begins,

Feel the inhale expand outward as beams of light in all directions and the exhale softly settle back,

Returning to center.

For these next few waves of your breath,

Feel that expansion,

Visualize those rays of light expanding out with each inhale and gently drawing inward with each exhale,

Seeing that expansion and contraction moving in rays of light outward and returning inward.

Next time your attention and your breath gather you inward,

Allow that light to be extinguished completely as you move now into the subtler space of your mind,

Into the possibility of creation that the mind allows.

Begin to take on this experience of being in complete darkness where all light has vacated the space around you and you inhabit a darkness that feels tangible,

Where even the air around you feels a little bit thicker and closer.

And as far as you could look out in all directions there is nothing but infinite darkness.

And now begin to watch as that shifts and changes as you call forth the light,

Like a very gentle golden dawning of a sunrise you start to see all around you in your peripheral vision first,

A brightening,

A dawning.

As the space of your vision and your imagination starts to fill with complete total brightness,

A golden light that fills every space around you until even that light overpowers all other vision and you are entirely consumed by the light.

Gently now on your next exhale let the light start to dim.

Feel the field of your vision start to retract and return to a balanced state,

One that holds equal parts darkness and light,

One that is whole and integrated.

Allow your attention now to begin to follow an even more subtle path,

Moving into the space of your pure awareness where anything is possible,

Anything can be called forth and anything can be entertained.

As you hear me name various sensations and images,

Allow each one to fill the screen of your awareness and then to drop away freely as you move softly and freely from one to the next.

A red brick house,

A long country lane,

Deep ocean waters,

A dark stormy sky,

The smell of freshly brewed coffee,

Nails on a chalkboard,

A soft golden light,

The sound of gentle rainfall,

The eyes of a loved one,

The feeling of bitter cold,

A purple dog,

A purple dog,

A purple road,

A yellow brick road,

The sound of thunder,

A golden thread,

A golden thread,

A golden thread.

As your attention remains with that golden thread,

You notice that you hold it gently but firmly in your palm.

As you continue to study this golden thread that you are holding,

You notice that it reaches out infinitely in both directions away from your palm.

As you hold it,

You feel called to pursue one direction of the thread.

You feel this deep longing to trace your way along this golden thread.

As you gently hold it in your palm,

You set out softly but steadily walking,

Tracing this golden thread through your palm the entire way.

As you continue to walk,

You come upon a very ancient tree and you notice that the golden thread is leading you there.

That golden thread is wrapped thrice around the trunk of this giant old tree.

And as you arrive at the base of its roots,

You take in the canopy of leaves,

The branches that reach in all directions,

And you seat yourself at the base of this tree with the golden thread still gently placed in your palm.

You lean back into the full support of this wise old being.

You feel yourself supported by the earth underneath you,

By the ancient wood that you rest your spine on.

And as you rest here,

You feel another presence approaching.

You gently open your eyes and as you turn and gaze into the distance,

You notice that presence coming from the opposite direction and you recognize this is a being with whom you have longed to speak.

You notice that they too are gently tracing this golden thread.

And as they arrive at the base of the tree,

They seat themselves next to you,

Leaning back into the support of the tree in the same fashion that you are.

You pause and together you take five long,

Deep breaths in unison.

As those five breaths result,

You gently sit yourself up and turn toward one another and you begin to wordlessly communicate.

You share,

You divulge,

And you honor each other with your listening.

All that you have longed to say is said in deep love and trust that it is being received,

And all that you have longed to hear is being offered back to you in return.

You listen deeply and you honor the knowing,

The experience,

And the wisdom contained in what is being shared with you.

You continue to sit and share and anything that feels like conflict,

Any dissonance between you gently begins to dissipate and evaporate as you continue this silent,

Wordless,

Honest communication with one another.

You begin to notice a feeling of resolution,

Of safety and tenderness blooming between you two.

And it is in this resolution that you lovingly allow the conversation,

The communication to conclude.

You rise,

You give a last gaze of loving and tender gratitude to one another.

And as a parting gift,

This other being invites you to continue to follow the thread,

To pursue the path that this golden thread is leading you down.

Holding it gently still in your palm,

You trace three times around the trunk of the tree and then continue on your way.

As you journey,

You begin to notice that this golden thread continues to move,

To spiral outward,

That it is held by and linked to every other being you encounter on this pathway.

Every other entity,

Every other form of creation is linked to and holding a portion of this golden thread.

And you begin to recognize it as the thread that runs through all creation,

The link that binds us all.

And you allow yourself to fill up on this feeling of interconnectedness,

Of being woven together with all that you meet.

And as you notice the golden thread beginning to loop back around to your starting point,

You continue the journey back until you arrive at that ancient tree once again.

And as you do,

You find yourself in the presence of that being once more.

Only this time you recognize that this other was always and only ever you,

Another reflection of you,

Another part of you,

Another mirror of you.

You lovingly bless all that you have met along your path,

All the ways that you are deeply connected to everything that you met.

And you turn your attention back to the golden thread holding it now in both palms.

You let your attention pour into the golden thread until your vision wraps around it and all that is left is this golden thread.

The golden light that surrounds it begins to take over your whole attention and awareness as you release any remaining connection to form.

And you allow yourself to merge with the space of pure consciousness.

You allow yourself to float,

To expand,

And to widen into that space as you meet with what is formless,

Timeless,

And infinite.

Good morning,

Guys.

You You You You You You From far out in that vast sea of consciousness Begin again to call forth the feeling of deep effervescent joy that filled your being at the beginning of your practice Feel it fill up your entire screen of awareness Until you recognize yourself as that deep swelling of joy And it is into that joy now that you once again plant your sun kelpa three times with deep conviction And with a joy that matches this feeling you have called in And with a joy that matches this feeling you have called in Sun kelpa sun kelpa sun kelpa Begin to feel your attention settling back into your physical body now Growing more dense more solid more rooted into your physical body as you feel the support of the earth underneath you again Feel the temperature of the room on your skin Feel the weight of your clothes and blankets over top of you Begin to slowly take a tiny little bit of movement again as you begin to return your attention into this physical form Feeling more connected to your body now The practice of yoga nidra is now complete Hady om tat sat Take whatever gentle little movements you need to continue to gently waken your body And when you're ready you can slowly turn your way to your right hand side with your knees tucked up into your chest And pause for a few deeper breaths as you begin to feel the light of the sun And pause for a few deeper breaths there as you return and ground even more fully As you welcome yourself back into your body Thank you for joining me in your practice today I look forward to seeing you again soon

This was fantastic. I cried multiple times, envisioned my late father, my estranged brother and many animals that are no longer with me. I think I reached a new level of awareness. Kundalini perhaps? I’m not sure, but despite meditating daily & typically more than once a day, I’ve had this β€˜new awareness’ feeling only a few other times in my lifeβ€”once after yoga 20+ years ago, and 1-2 other times while meditating. Thank you so much for the powerful experience. I will be doing this one again soon.
