We often discount the importance of the seasonal transitions on our energy and bodies. This meditation gives you a quick 10 minute reset and supports you in transitioning energy from the slowness of winter to the growth orientation of Spring. Additionally, it will support you in connecting with your center and to the appreciation of beauty - something we so often dismiss and forget how connected beauty is to presence and spirituality.

Welcome to this meditation focused on rooted growth and presence.

If you're just arriving,

Take your time and settle in.

Bringing yourself to a comfortable position,

Perhaps seated or laying down on the ground.

Make sure you have pillows,

Blankets,

Whatever you need to feel comfortable,

And then you can find your position to get started.

To begin,

You'll just do a body scan,

Noticing what kind of energy you're bringing into this meditation.

Perhaps there's something that you're wanting to let go of,

Or a lot of thoughts swirling through your mind.

Maybe your energy is focused in your head.

Maybe there's tension,

Anxiety,

Or disconnect in different parts of your body.

Just doing a little scan from head to toe to notice what you bring into the space.

This may be how you feel frequently,

Perhaps it's circumstantial.

Just noticing,

And then when you're ready,

You can begin to breathe out any thoughts,

Any energy you're wanting to release in this meditation.

You don't have to think or try,

Just simply breathe them out,

Allowing your body to release any energy that's not serving you.

Just simply letting go.

As you breathe in,

You'll start to connect more and more to your body,

Bringing awareness to all the different parts of your body,

Head to toe.

Breathing out any emotions,

Any tension,

Any thoughts in your body that you'd like to release.

Taking three nice,

Big breaths here.

Breathe out what you'd like to let go of,

And breathing in connection to your body,

Your soul.

One more big breath.

Great.

Now,

You can bring yourself to your mind's eye by connecting with the earth.

You may be laying on the ground in your home,

Or on the grass outside,

Wherever you are,

Just bring your awareness to your connection to the earth.

Bringing your mind's eye to a frozen earth,

The winter,

The cold,

The icy earth.

Crunchy under your feet,

And zooming in just below the surface of the earth to noticing a small seed,

Perhaps roots or plants,

That's been lying dormant over the winter.

And as the spring approaches,

The earth begins to slowly thaw.

The ice,

The crunchy ice of the earth,

Begins to release,

Melt.

And as it does,

You see this beautiful plant,

Whether it's a seed or a dormant plant,

Begin to wake up.

All of the ice falls away,

Earth warms,

And this plant begins to wake up.

And just like the plants,

Our bodies truly begin to awaken for the first time in the year,

As spring begins to approach.

So now imagining yourself as this seed or plant,

Beginning to awaken.

You begin to grow roots.

Your roots grow into all of the other living creatures around you,

All the other plants.

You can feel the connection.

You're not alone.

The earth is wide and there's many other plants around,

Also beginning to just spread,

Wake up,

Begin to pick up energy as the spring comes.

Noticing as you start to approach growing to the top of the earth,

The earth's surface,

Now moving from just growing roots to growing perhaps a stalk or a bud,

You begin to break out of the surface of the earth and grow upwards towards the sun,

With nothing else to do but just grow.

You grow and stretch and move,

Building the foundation for more of you to grow,

Beginning to grow leaves in whatever shape feels right,

Staying rooted while also growing,

Perhaps a little vulnerable at first,

But then growing stronger,

More unshakable.

You grow and grow and grow until finally you grow one big beautiful flower,

Watching as your flower unfurls,

Noticing the colors,

The shapes,

The feeling of your petals and the sun shining on you,

Taking time to revel in the beauty of your flower with nothing else to do here,

Just live and be connected to beauty,

Presence,

Sunlight,

Just existing,

Taking your time here to feel what it's like to just be present,

What it feels like to experience rooted presence and connection to beauty.

So tuning in now to your body,

How does it feel in your body,

In this place of rooted presence and connection to beauty?

There's no other agenda but just to be.

How do you feel emotionally?

Noticing your emotional state,

Your body state,

How you're feeling in your body,

Are you tense,

Are you calm,

Is the energy flowing and how is your energy?

Is it stagnant,

Is it moving,

Is it buzzing?

Just noticing what just 10 minutes of meditation can make space for,

Perhaps a little reset,

A little relief and noticing what this brings up in your mind,

Perhaps there's messages or information that needs to be heard in regards to your body,

Your emotional state,

What you need,

Just noticing what you discover from this experience.

Before you move into your day,

Just take a moment to recognize how you'd like to experience life this spring or how you might like to hold on to this experience in some way.

What was important about these 10 minutes?

And finally,

How you'd like to hold on to this.

Is there some concrete action,

Some way to integrate this experience into your day?

Perhaps a mantra or just revisiting this image,

Creating an image of the flower to take with you.

Once you feel complete,

You're clear on how you might like to take this with you,

You can slowly begin to return back to your body,

Taking all the time you need.
