Thank you for joining me in this gentle visualization meditation.

I'm glad you've chosen to be here.

Let's begin.

Give yourself a little time to get really comfortable.

Either lying down or sitting up.

Whichever appeals the most to you.

Ensure that you bring gentleness to your movements.

And just make any adjustments to your posture that helps you feel more comfortable.

Let yourself softly settle.

If you have not already done so,

I invite you to close your eyes.

Allow your eyelids to get heavy.

And give yourself permission to be immersed in deeply relaxing stillness.

Give yourself the gift of this time to just be.

And allow what follows from here to be gentle and effortless.

Your movements.

Your breaths.

Your thoughts.

Your imagination.

Let yourself soften.

Bring your attention to your breath and notice its rhythm.

Feel the rhythm of each of your breaths.

Simply follow their movements in and out.

Let them ebb and flow.

Like gentle waves coming and going.

Listen to the sounds of the breaths as they move.

Hear how they sound like waves gently washing up on shore and quietly rolling back.

Let the soothing sound bring you more relaxation as you softly let go.

Feel yourself letting go.

Feel your breath deepen.

Imagine your breath as it flows.

Imagine your breath as a soothing,

Compassionate feel to it.

So that every time you take a breath,

Your breath is soothing your mind.

Soothing your body.

And any part of you that needs compassion,

Care or perhaps healing.

Let each breath find its way to any tension that lingers in your body or mind.

And let your breath release the tension.

Breathing in soothing air.

Breathing out tensions.

Allow yourself to soften.

Allow your thoughts to come and go.

Now notice a surface underneath you.

Notice how your body melts into the surface.

And how your body is being held.

Let your body be held so you can let go.

And feel how the letting go allow your muscles to soften even more.

From the crown of your head down to your face.

Softening the muscles around your eyes.

Your cheeks.

Softening your jaw.

Your mouth and chin.

Softening your neck and shoulders.

Arms.

Hands.

Fingers.

Softening your back.

Your chest.

Your belly.

Your hips.

Legs.

Feet.

Your toes.

Feel yourself feeling at ease and at peace.

Now allow your imagination to take over.

Imagine it's a beautiful summer's day.

And you have decided to give yourself a bit of time for taking stock and to reflect.

Give yourself a bit of time with solitude and contemplation.

You have taken yourself to a private secluded beach.

A quiet,

Beautiful place with wide,

Open,

Open windows.

A quiet,

Beautiful place with wide,

Sandy beaches and clear,

Blue water.

In this place you are breathing in pure,

Comforting air.

And you can feel the gentle,

Refreshing breeze catch your hair and stroke your body.

You enjoy feeling the sunshine on your face and on your exposed skin.

You look around and notice the beautiful colours of the sand,

Of the ocean and the sky above.

Watch as a few soft clouds slowly dissolve and disappear.

In this place you smell the many happy scents of summer.

You breathe them all in and notice the deep sense of peace in your mind.

You feel a lightness in your heart and feel connected with this place and with this precious moment in time.

And you can just be.

You listen to the sounds of the rolling waves and you let your eyes settle on their movement.

In your mind your thoughts are contemplating the metaphor that your life is like the ocean.

That at times life can appear challenging,

Wild and rough,

Even scary and overwhelming.

Just like the surface of the ocean.

You consider the challenging areas of your life right now.

You're simply noticing,

Reflecting,

Observing back here on the beach.

What is it that's going on for you right now that caused movements on the surface of the ocean?

Know that there is nothing you need to do but watch.

Perhaps paying attention to the type of movements on the ocean or the sounds,

Colours and the shapes.

Remind yourself that you are simply reflecting and observing.

You are completely safe and at peace here on the beach.

Inside of you there is a knowing that just under the surface of the ocean there is a place of stillness and calm.

So you decide to go for a swim.

As you approach the water you can feel the mist from the ocean on your skin.

You walk closer and you find the place where the water is completely calm.

With only gentle waves that wash us over the sand towards you.

Touching your toes before receding.

Feel the sensation of the cool water washing over your feet.

Now walk further into the clear,

Clean water.

Let the water wrap itself softly around your body.

Swim if you like or simply let yourself float.

Feeling at ease in your body.

Feeling relaxed and peaceful.

Soothed by the water you are immersed in.

From this peaceful place take a look at the more challenging part of your ocean.

And ask yourself how you want to be with that.

Knowing that there are some things you cannot control.

Some waves that simply cannot be tamed.

Knowing that there are some waves that no doubt are challenging to swim in.

But they might help you grow stronger.

Knowing that some challenging waves can be fun to play in.

As long as you have a sense of being safe.

Consider how you want to engage with the challenging part of your ocean.

How you want to be with the challenges.

How you wish to show up.

The answers may not come to you right away.

But just trust that they will come.

Just like you can trust that underneath the surface there is a gentle place of stillness and calm.

Let yourself float here in the calm of the ocean for a while.

Or return to the beach and lie down.

Notice how easy your breath flows.

And how still your mind is.

And you can just be.

So take a few minutes now to just be and feel what that feels like for you.

Thank you for watching.

You you you you you you you Gently begin to let the images of the ocean go.

Let your mind dissolve the sounds and images of the beach.

And once again turn your attention to your breath.

Begin noticing the breath as it moves in and out of your body.

Gently and effortlessly feel yourself coming back.

And simply notice how you are in this moment.

And know that this is a place you can return to anytime you wish.

Know that this way of being is available to you.

Notice how your mind feels.

Notice how your body feels.

Notice how your heart feels.

Perhaps consider what it would be like for you to feel like this more of the time.

Take a moment now to gently reflect how you might invite more of this into your life.

And then whenever you're ready you can begin to stretch and move a little.

Or simply stay as you are if you wish to drift off to sleep.

Thank you again for joining me.
