A labyrinth symbolizes the journey towards truth,

Towards your essence,

Which sometimes gets lost in the busy day-to-day.

This visualization will help you find your center,

Your balance,

During challenging moments.

Start by sitting in a comfortable position.

Maybe it's on a chair,

Maybe it's sitting on the floor,

Maybe it's lying down on your bed.

Wherever you are,

Begin to close your eyes and truly listen to your breathing.

Is your breath rough and jagged,

Or smooth and soft and kind?

Feel each breath flowing through your body.

Feel the breath begin to even out your heartbeat.

Begin to come into this moment.

Not the past,

Not the future.

Just be here,

Right now.

Take three deep,

Conscious,

Active breaths with me.

Inhaling for six counts,

And exhaling for six counts.

Inhale for one,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six.

Breathe deeply from the tips of the toes to the crown of your head.

Counting again,

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six.

Exhale for six,

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

One more time without me counting.

Inhale,

Feel the belly rise.

The chest expand.

Your heart gets soft as your shoulders broaden.

The breath rises to the crown of your head.

And as your hair feels light,

Breathe out from the crown of your head.

Feel your teeth relax.

As your face smiles,

Feel the chest relax.

Stitch your ribs together as you push all the air out through your legs and through the soles of your feet.

Inhaling and exhaling.

Feel the breath deep in your body.

Feel your cells breathing.

Even feel the space between your body and your article of clothing,

Creating more openness.

As you continue this beautiful deep breath,

Visualize yourself walking slowly through a labyrinth.

A labyrinth is a maze.

It's a pathway of sorts.

Step by step,

Make your way through your maze,

Your labyrinth.

It could be made of books,

Sand and rocks,

Or tall luscious trees.

It could even be made of gumdrops or flowers in a garden.

But whatever your maze is,

Just make it your own personal sacred space.

The space that's inside of all of us,

Your heart where your truths reside.

As you make each turn in your maze,

Imagine that you are literally shedding your worldly attachments.

Whatever's expectations,

Any challenges,

Any issues,

Good or bad,

Just begin to let yourself one by one,

Step by step,

Thought by thought,

Let things roll off of your body.

Literally feel yourself light as you let it all go.

On the next bend in your labyrinth,

You reach the heart of your maze and you truly feel the sensation of being purified and renewed,

Nurtured by the breath and the scenery.

You've just let things roll off your shoulders and you feel good.

With a calm,

Open heart and a calm,

Open mind,

Listen to your breath,

Embrace the stillness,

The spaciousness in your sacred space and in your mind.

Stay here a while,

Right here with your breath in the center of your balance,

Inhaling and exhaling like a sigh of relief.

Feel that beautiful breath,

Just inhaling and exhaling.

As you begin to prepare yourself to retrace your steps and rejoin the world,

Feel the mindfulness in your heart.

Feel every line of communication,

Every flowing river of energy open and aware in your body.

Walking back out of your labyrinth,

Feel a new energy resonating in your system.

Feel the power you have as you come out of the maze.

Preparing to reenter the present moment,

Begin to wiggle your fingers,

Feel the breath caress your toes.

With your eyes still closed,

Bring your hands in front of your body and rub them together fast,

Creating friction.

Rub your palms together a little bit faster and then once you feel your hands nice and warm,

Cover them over your closed eyes.

Begin to open your eyes slowly and as you start to open your eyes,

Feel the peace in every aspect of your being.

Allow your hands to settle back down onto your lap and begin to return to the world rejuvenated and light,

Full of positive energy and even a smile.

Remember that you can come to this compassionate space at any time just by breathing and being present in this moment because within your heart you carry a portable paradise.

Can't express enough how much I appreciate the tone for wee ones (refreshing bc it's affectation-free). 100% as intelligent and respectful as it would be for adults. Nailed it.
