Living mindfully is the best experience you can get.

Because you are truly in the situation,

You get to feel all your true emotions.

You feel the emotions of the other person.

And suddenly we start to cherish the taste of food,

We embrace the beautiful nature,

We start to slow down and we start listening to our body.

It's indeed a wonderful experience.

The meditation that I want to share with you is about mindfulness,

About being aware of your mind,

What's going on in here and not just that,

How you can imbibe this in your daily routine.

So let's get comfortable first.

Let's calm down our bodies.

Take a comfortable meditation posture.

Let your back be straight and your eyes are gently closed.

Do a quick scan of your body starting from the top.

Scan your head,

Your face and breathe into each and every organ of your body as you move through them.

Feel your head,

Feel your hair,

Your face,

All the muscles around your face.

Now scan the front part of your body.

Start from your neck,

Ease into your chest and feel your abdomen contracting and expanding.

Now relax the back portion of your body.

Feel your shoulders and breathe into them.

Move down to your back,

Your spine and feel the sensation around your hips when it touches the cushion or the floor.

Imagine that you are breathing into all these organs,

Taking deep breaths and passing this breath to every organ as you move through them.

Now go down to your legs and feel the sensations in your thighs,

Your knees and your feet and take a couple of deep breaths and relax and connect with your body.

With these fast moving lives,

Isn't it like we're just swimming with the tide?

If it goes left,

We go left.

If it goes right,

We go right.

This is how our minds have become.

We have kept it so busy that we're not even aware of what's happening inside it.

Because either our minds doesn't have the time for it or we haven't developed that capability to be truly aware about a situation.

And every meditation master tells us the first thing is to correct our minds to be truly aware of what your mind is thinking and also what your mind is believing inside.

So in the next two minutes,

Just be aware about what your mind is thinking.

Be like an outside observer.

What are the things my mind thinks about?

Don't concentrate on any thought.

Don't latch onto any thought.

Just observe your mind and the different thoughts you're getting.

So what is that your mind thinks about?

Is it about the work,

The people or what is the next task you're going to do?

Did you see how your mind is full of thoughts and it keeps jumping from one thought to another?

Now in another few minutes,

We will repeat this exercise.

But you will need to categorize your thoughts.

Be the same silent observer as before.

But now think about your intentions of your thoughts as well.

If you think the intention is positive,

Tap on your right knee.

If you think the intention is slightly negative,

Tap on your left knee.

Sometimes you will think that the thought is neutral.

But try to see if you have some intention behind it.

Why are you doing this?

To give you an example,

You thought something about work.

What is your intention behind it?

If the intention is,

I want to get it done so I can be successful,

This is positive.

But if you think so that I can show my neighbor that he's a stupid person,

This is of course a little negative.

But if you also thought that I want to help my client with the work that I'm doing,

Then it's very positive.

So think about the thoughts,

Observe your thoughts as before.

But this time,

Find the intention behind it.

For a positive one,

Tap on your right knee.

And for a negative one,

Tap on your left knee.

Let's do it for a couple of minutes.

Okay.

Let's do it for a couple of minutes.

How are you feeling now?

How were your thoughts?

A little too positive or a little too negative?

Or was this exercise a little difficult?

This meditation should be done again and again.

It will bring you a lot of control till the point that you are truly aware about your thoughts.

When you are in your kitchen,

Do this meditation.

When you are walking,

Do this meditation and see what your mind thinks about and what is the intention behind it.

There will be a point when the next time you feel anger in your mind,

You will be aware about it and maybe you will quickly tap your left knee and calm down your body.

This is a true meditation,

True mindfulness.

To be aware of what's happening and taking corrective actions as well.

Make this your most powerful habit.

I hope you enjoyed the session.

Thank you for meditating with me.
