It's a week of gratitude! Today we explore a different spin on finding gratitude in the present moment. Being grateful for our car, house and family is great but let's take this a little deeper! It's gratitude right here, right now....for everything.

Good morning,

Namaste,

Everybody.

Welcome to The Floe by Albert.

And it is still Gratitude Week.

I love that.

I love it.

Let's celebrate in gratitude.

Oh,

That's so awesome.

Okay,

So here's my deal today.

I have sort of a different spin on our second day of gratitude.

Okay,

Actually the second,

It's not the second day,

But the second time of gratitude,

Right?

Yesterday or in my last episode,

I talked about the ghost of gratitude past.

And that's really interesting,

Right?

Because when you think about something that happened to you when you were,

A long time ago,

Let's just say,

Or a little while ago in the past,

That you were grateful for that made you who you are today.

I love focusing on that.

That was great.

Today we are going to focus on something,

Or I shouldn't say something.

Let me say it this way.

It's a new sort of type of gratitude.

Okay?

We're going to look at our life as a whole and finding the gratitude in the present.

However,

We're not talking about just like,

Oh,

I'm thankful for right now,

Right?

We're going to go a little bit deeper and put a little spin on that.

Okay?

Um,

It's not just,

And I don't want us just to be thankful for our house and our car and our family,

Right?

Today we're going to look at every little thing in our lives and we're going to be thankful for it.

We're going to look at the ant crawling on the wall and being thankful for that.

We're going to be thankful for the lady that is driving really slow in front of us that's irritating us.

We're going to be thankful for that.

Okay?

Um,

We're going to be thankful for the freakishly small avocado that's the only one left in the grocery store,

Right?

I mean like every little thing,

We're going to be thankful for all of that.

And you know why?

Because if we start to get present to every little aspect in front of us,

Then we start one and then we start realizing how wondrous our life actually is.

Right?

So let me just throw this out.

The lady that was driving slow,

That's driving slow in front of you and you're irritated,

But she's driving slow.

We're going to be thankful for her because guess what?

The fact that you drove slow may have saved you from a horrible accident up the road.

You don't know that,

But it could have.

The freakishly small avocado that's the only one left that you really,

Really want,

Right?

That's going to help you eat smaller portions.

I know.

I know what you're thinking.

It's kind of like,

What?

But guess what?

That's just examples.

If we are absolutely grateful for all these little aspects,

The little ants crawling up the wall,

Grateful for that.

Why?

How could we possibly be grateful for an ant climbing up the wall?

It's showing us that maybe there's a little crack or something in the wall that we need to get fixed.

It's calling attention to something else going on,

Right?

I don't know.

It's a new take on gratitude.

I wouldn't say it's new because obviously it's been out there for a while,

I'm sure,

But if we think about it in terms of that,

How amazing is that to be thankful for all of that stuff?

We're going to meditate on that today.

Yep,

Because if we all can you just like,

I always like,

This is like my go to thought.

Can you imagine if the whole world was grateful for all these little things?

How different the world would be?

You know?

And it starts with that ripple effect.

It starts with us and our gratitude and then somebody else and somebody else because it just creates a wave.

You know,

I'm always fascinated by talking about that and what people think about whenever I say that.

But you know what?

If you think about,

You guys are going to laugh,

In a stadium filled with people,

Right?

And somebody,

Several people say,

Hey,

Let's start the wave.

I know you guys know what I'm talking about.

Like certain people stand up and everybody starts to stand up and it creates the wave going the whole way around.

Aren't you just in awe when you see that?

Maybe not the 20th time you've seen it,

But the first time you ever saw the entire stadium,

Thousands and 70,

000 people doing that,

Standing up when it was just coming their way.

Weren't you just amazed by that?

It's a ripple effect.

If we can do it with something stupid,

I shouldn't say stupid,

But inconsequential,

Something as inconsequential as a stadium,

Right?

We're all in that together.

If you think about that,

That's such a metaphor.

Oh,

I'm getting like weepy on that.

My eyes are filling up on that because if we can come together on something as sort of not important as doing a wave around the stadium,

Imagine what we could do together.

I love that,

Right?

Okay,

So let's get ourselves comfy because we're going to meditate on all this,

Right?

Hopefully your vibration has,

Has risen just a little bit and you're ready to meditate on this and you're ready to,

After that,

Go out into your day and spread the positivity,

Spread the gratitude.

All right.

So let's get our thank you for everybody that's joining.

I'm so loving this.

The conversation of gratitude doesn't just say,

It's not just about thank you for this.

It's so much more and I just,

I'm so glad you guys are all with me on this today.

So let's get ourselves comfy and in that comfy place.

Okay.

Get yourself seated nicely and gently close your eyes whenever it's the most,

Whenever it feels right.

Let's take a nice deep,

Deep breath in through your nose and out your mouth.

Breathe in.

Beautiful.

Very good.

That's such always a perfect way to begin a meditation practice because you're breathing in all that beautiful air and then you're breathing out anything stagnant,

Anything that's just not,

Not good for you.

So as we get ready to sit in the silence for just a few minutes,

Let's think about just a few things that we are grateful for.

And in this part we can pick whatever we choose.

What are you grateful for right now?

Right in this very moment?

What are you grateful for?

It could be a list of four things.

It could be a list of 20.

That's what's so great about being in that grateful place.

So as we relax our bodies,

Starting at our head and our neck and our shoulders,

Our torso and our arms,

Our abdomen,

Placing our attention on all of our muscles.

Our mantra today that I want us to focus on is an affirmation.

And the affirmation today is,

I am one with everything and everyone.

I am one with everything and everyone.

I am one with everything and everyone.

Now,

If you lose track of the mantra or you find yourself thinking about other things,

That's okay.

It happens to the best of meditators.

The most skill.

I shouldn't say the best.

The most skilled of meditators.

Just gently swish those thoughts to the side and come back to the mantra and your breath.

I am one with everything and everyone.

I will keep the time and let's begin.

I am one with everything and everyone.

I am one with everything and everyone.

I am one with everything and everyone.

I am one with everything and everyone.

I am one with everything and everyone.

I am one with everything and everyone.

I am one with everything and everyone.

I am one with everything and everyone.

I am one with everything and everyone.

I am one with everything and everyone.

I am one with everything and everyone.

I am one with everything and everyone.

I am one with everything and everyone.

I am one with everything and everyone.

Let's start bringing our awareness back to our bodies,

The chair we're sitting in.

Let's take a nice deep breath in through your nose,

Out your mouth and release it.

You can open your eyes whenever you feel comfortable.

How awesome.

How amazing,

Right?

Just love that.

Anytime I'm focusing on gratitude,

That's just all I need in the world.

Thank you so much for joining today.

I appreciate every single one of you.

Thank you for being with me and taking this journey with me together so we can do it together.

Thanks for joining and until next time,

Namaste.
