Namaste everybody.

Welcome to In the Flow with Lori Albert.

So I think some of you may know that I used to be in the music industry and it was interesting,

Right?

It was fun times way back when.

It's a whole different ball game now,

Right?

But I was always really,

Really fascinated with musicians that could write lyrics and write music that went with those lyrics,

Right?

I was always so fascinated with songwriters because that's such a gift.

You know,

We all have our talents and we all have our gifts and stuff.

And I thought to myself,

You know,

I need to bring in some of my music business life,

My music life because I am a lover of all music.

I'm not one of those people that doesn't have many stories.

I can't tell because I was mostly in jazz stuff,

Right?

But it's such a beautiful outlet.

Music is like amazing,

Right?

And so I thought I need to incorporate some of that.

Now because of like copyright stuff,

I won't be able to play actual music on here,

But I want to share with you some of the lyrics that I find to be amazing and have gotten like lessons from,

Right?

So I wanted to share with you today.

You guys are going to laugh because what's going to happen is once I tell you the song,

You're going to start sort of singing it to yourself.

You're going to start singing it to yourself and you're going to go,

Okay,

But so this is what I'm going to do.

I'm going to read to you these lyrics.

Okay.

The band's name is called the Verve.

Okay.

And the song is Bittersweet Symphony.

So you may know the song,

Right?

But I want to read to you some of these lyrics because it's so amazing and sort of apropos to what is going on in our world today.

Right?

So I'm going to read this to you.

All right.

Obviously some of it,

And again,

You're going to start singing it in your head because just because you can't help it if you know the song,

Right?

Because it's a bittersweet symphony,

This life trying to make ends meet.

You're a slave to the money.

Then you die.

I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down.

You know the one that takes you to places where all the veins meet.

No change.

I can't change.

I can't change.

I can't change,

But I'm here in my mold.

I'm here in my mold,

Mold,

But I'm a million different people from one day to the next.

I can't change my mold.

Well,

I never pray,

But tonight I'm on my knees.

I need to hear some sounds that recognize the pain in me.

I let the melody shine.

Let it cleanse my mind.

I feel free now,

But the airwaves are clean and there's nobody singing to me now.

So,

Okay,

Right.

So it's,

It's not the same when you read it,

Right?

But it's really impactful.

And to me,

What that means is that we get so caught up in our daily lives and we just get into this sort of mode where we're like every day we go here and there and we put one foot in front of the other just because that's what we have done every single day before.

Right?

Now,

He was probably talking about something else when he talked about,

Well,

I never pray,

But tonight I'm on my knees.

He might've been talking about prayer.

He might've been talking about like meditation,

You know,

Like,

Because to me,

Meditation is what keeps my sort of life going forward without having to be the same person where I'm walking forward every single time.

You know what I mean?

Like we become a million different people every day based on who we need to be for that moment.

And what makes that palatable and for me,

Like I'm able to continue on with that is my meditation because if we can just allow ourselves to just sit and be whoever we are,

We don't have to be anything for anybody.

When we're,

When we're meditating,

We just are.

Yeah,

That's pretty deep,

Right?

You know,

But that song,

Bittersweet symphony to me,

That's what it represents.

That's what that song represents.

It represents like having the ability to just sit and be,

He may have been talking about actual prayer,

Which meditation can be a form of prayer,

You know,

But what a great track,

You know,

That was,

That was always one of my favorite songs.

And when you sit and listen to the lyrics of it,

It's just,

It's just amazing.

So,

So I wanted to share that with you today because it's so cool,

Right?

But let's get ourselves into meditation today because as we go through this maze of life,

As we go through this maze of life,

We can keep moving forward and be who we are in our hearts,

In our minds,

In our souls.

So let's get ourselves comfortable and ready to meditate.

Okay.

Oh,

Let's take a nice deep breath in.

We deserve that,

Right?

Let your eyes float close whenever it's comfortable.

Let's take one more deep breath in.

Oh,

And release.

So today we are going to focus on our breath.

And as we are in our meditation for today,

I want us to focus on the color orange for our sacral chakra.

It relates to our sacral chakra.

That is our passion.

Our passion for life,

Our passion for everything in our life.

Not just that maze that we find ourselves in every day,

Where we put ourselves or put one foot in front of the other.

Today it's about our passion.

So we are going to focus on our breath,

Breathing in and out.

And the color orange.

Before we begin,

What are you grateful for today?

Let's up our challenge today.

Give me five things that you are grateful for.

You can do it.

There's so much to be grateful for with all the challenges going on in our lives individually,

Collectively.

There's always,

Always one or two things to be grateful for.

But you know what?

Today we are pushing that.

Five things.

I'm so grateful I got to get away with my husband this weekend.

Just to recharge,

Refresh.

I had some amazing wine.

What are you grateful for?

As we do our meditation today,

We sit and concentrate on our breath.

Think about the color orange and what it represents.

I want you to try to keep a smile on your face as we sit.

It might not be the easiest thing to do,

But let's try it.

So as we start to concentrate on our breath,

We consider going in,

Our breath coming in our body,

And our breath going out.

Going in and out.

I will keep the time.

Keep that smile on your face.

And let's begin.

Let's start bringing our awareness back to our bodies.

Take a nice deep breath in.

And release it.

You can open your eyes whenever you feel comfortable.

How did you do?

So curious.

How did you do?

Because normally I know we do it with a mantra.

And today we were focusing on the breathing in and breathing out.

Just a different way of meditating.

Just a different way.

And then with our smile on our face.

You know,

It's really all about keeping our vibration up.

Because if we can do that on a daily basis,

Maybe even on an hourly basis,

On a minute by minute basis,

Learn to keep our vibration high.

Those little things that normally would tweak us,

They don't matter anymore.

Right?

So enjoy today.

If you get a chance,

Go listen to the song Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve.

And just consider that when we sit quietly just for that few minutes,

It can change everything.

So thank you for joining today everybody.

Namaste.

Have yourself a beautiful day.

I love you all.

Take care.
