Namaste everybody.
Welcome to In The Flow with Lori Albert.
I am Lori Albert.
And today I've got the blues.
Not really,
But you know,
Because this little happy medium doesn't get the blues that often,
Right?
But interestingly,
I over the weekend started realizing something.
This whole quarantine,
Whatever it is that we're in the process of doing,
Isolation,
You know what I mean?
That's the word I want to use.
This isolation has caused so many expanded emotions.
I don't know if that makes sense,
But the emotions attach to everything that we've all been going through,
Right?
Stress and anxiety,
All those things.
It's like there's like a new aspect to so many of these emotions.
And because these are feelings that we've never felt before.
We've never gone through this before.
So we're experiencing all this new stuff,
Right?
So for me,
For the day,
Today's emotion that I'm considering and thinking it's so much about is guilt.
Do you guys have the isolation guilt going on?
I do,
For sure.
Oh my gosh.
And it's so interesting because I was,
You know,
I read a lot and I do a lot of studying on spiritual stuff,
You know.
And I came across a quote by Wayne Dyer,
Right?
And this is what he said.
And this is so interesting,
My take on this,
Right?
When you dance,
Your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor.
It's to enjoy each step along the way.
And I was like,
You know,
He's right.
You know,
And that's about being present.
Being present for each step and enjoying the whole thing.
And I thought,
Yeah,
You know,
I need to do that.
I need to enjoy each step of this isolation.
There's so much guilt.
Like,
You know,
And I'm blessed to be working from home.
Great,
Right?
Working from home,
That's fantastic.
But on those slow times,
What should I be doing?
There's like a guilt.
Should I be,
Okay,
So my daughter,
23 years old,
She's gonna be moved now.
So I think to myself,
I should be spending time with her.
Or should I be spending time like cleaning or doing laundry?
Or should I be figuring out like what maybe,
You know,
Let's make for dinner?
Or should I,
You know,
I mean there's always,
Should I be doing this?
Should I be doing that?
Whatever.
And so to me,
That quote,
While it means being present,
And honestly,
I feel like that I've been doing a good job being present,
Right?
So I'm here now with you guys,
Which is great.
But it's like that this isolation thing took a step forward and means something different as well.
It's not just about,
Like that quote is great,
And it's about being present,
But it's not just about being present.
It's about being okay with being present.
That's a hard thing,
You know.
I mean there's just,
Yeah,
The guilt thing really got me this weekend,
And I've been feeling it for a little while,
But it's like I'm calling it corona guilt.
It's the corona guilt,
Right?
So this quote,
While it means to be present,
I think it also means to be okay with being present.
That's so cool.
So cool.
Because we need to get over the guilt.
We need to just,
Like,
Guilt is such a crappy emotion,
Isn't it?
It allows,
Not,
It doesn't allow us to be present,
Because we're always thinking where we should be.
I hate that.
But you know,
Today is a new day.
There's always a new chance to start again.
Today my new mantra,
It's not gonna be my mantra for our meditation,
But my new mantra for my day is guilt-free.
No more guilt.
I don't know.
No more guilt.
Peace.
Only peace.
So yeah,
Very interesting,
Interesting thoughts for the day.
So let's get ourselves comfortable,
Because let's meditate on this,
Right?
So let's get ourselves comfortable,
And let's take a nice deep,
Deep breath in.
There's something about releasing the breath through the mouth.
It's so cleansing,
Right?
So let's take another deep breath in through your nose,
And out through your mouth.
So in through your nose.
Really deep.
Keep going.
Make that oxygen go all the way to your toes,
And release.
Close your eyes.
And today,
Our mantra for our meditation will be peace.
Will be shanti.
Shanti means peace in Sanskrit.
But here's my question for you today.
What are you grateful for today?
There's always,
Always something to be grateful for,
Right?
What are you grateful for?
I am grateful for,
You guys are gonna laugh,
The squirrel family that lives,
The squirrel family that lives outside of our house,
I should say.
They're so sweet.
I'm grateful that we had a little bit of break in the heat.
Ramping up for today's.
What are you grateful for?
And the next question I have for you for today,
This is one of David G's sacred questions.
Who are you when you are at your best?
When you are being your best self,
Who are you?
Who are you being?
Who are you when you are your best self?
Does that bring a smile to your face?
It should.
So our mantra for today is shanti.
And I know I've said this before,
But I,
My personal way of reciting the mantra shanti is sort of a sing-song.
Shanti.
Shanti.
Shanti.
But you can do it yourself,
However you choose.
Because peace to me is just about being okay with everything.
Just everything the way it is.
And it's sort of a relaxation,
In a sense,
Of our emotions.
So I will keep the time.
If you get sort of lost in the mantra,
Just bring yourself back to it.
Or concentrate on your breathing.
And let's begin.
Shanti.
Shanti.
Shanti.
Shanti.
Shanti.
Shanti.
Shanti.
Shanti.
Shanti.
Shanti.
Shanti.
Shanti.
Shanti.
Shanti.
Shanti.
Shanti.
Shanti.
Bringing our awareness back to our bodies and the room we're sitting in.
Let's take a nice deep breath in.
And release.
Whenever you feel comfortable,
You can open your eyes.
Beautiful.
Very good.
Thank you guys so much for joining today,
For being part of my life,
My crazy thoughts about life.
And remember the Wayne Dyer quote today.
When you dance,
Your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor.
It's to enjoy each step along the way.
So keep that in your mind today.
And I wish you peace and joy today.
Thank you for joining.
Namaste,
Everybody.
