Welcome to this meditation for relaxation.
For relaxation and sleep.
I'm Victoria and I'll be your guide tonight.
We'll begin by getting really comfortable,
Setting your phone down,
Tucking yourself in and wiggling and adjusting until you find exactly how your body wants to lay to invite in ease and relaxation.
In this meditation we'll be exploring gratitude as we scan through the body,
Inviting in ease and relaxation while filling up with gratitude,
Joy and bliss to invite in the sweetest dreams.
Noticing first your body making contact with the bed.
Then as you feel the backs of your legs,
Your bottom,
Your back,
The backs of your arms and the back of your head all cradled in the soft embrace of your bed,
Inviting in a sense of gratitude for your bed,
For holding you up,
For giving you a safe place to rest night after night.
And feeling gratitude for the blankets you feel touching your skin.
Noticing their weight,
Noticing their texture.
Feeling so much gratitude for their warmth,
For their ability to provide you with comfort,
Heat and weight to nurture you night after night,
Dream after dream.
And noticing your head on your pillow.
Feeling gratitude for your pillow,
For holding you up,
For conforming to the shape of your head so you can rest easily,
Moving from side to side whenever you need.
And your pillow is still there,
Regaining its shape,
Holding you with effortless ease.
And turning this sense of gratitude for your bed,
Your covers and your pillow inward.
Knowing that today you did the best you could.
You are perfectly imperfect and that's not a problem.
And tonight as you drift off,
Cultivating this sense of gratitude,
Knowing that you are enough,
Just as you are,
Exactly where you are.
You don't have to try to fix anything about yourself.
You can open to the goodness that always resides inside of you.
Feeling grateful for the day.
And feeling grateful that you've made it here now.
Grateful for this breath.
Grateful for this breath.
Grateful for your intelligent body that effortlessly breathed for you.
You don't have to remember to breathe.
Your body knows exactly what to do.
Letting yourself be filled with gratitude for the miracle of life being breathed through you in this moment.
Sending gratitude into your feet for all the places they carried you today.
Up into your ankles and your calves.
Gratitude for your knees,
For the ability they give you to bend and touch the earth.
To pick up a small child and to walk every step.
Gratitude for your thighs,
For your hips and glutes and pelvis and the entire reproductive area of your body.
Bringing that gratitude into your abdomen.
And allowing yourself to feel the breath as it flows in and out of your belly.
And calling to mind your internal organs and all of the processes that happen behind the scenes to keep you healthy and balanced and vital every moment of the day.
Letting your awareness shift from the miracles of your internal organs into one particular organ,
The heart.
And feeling gratitude for every beat of your heart.
Pumping the sustaining life force.
Wow.
Feeling gratitude for your physical heart and for your emotional heart,
Your spiritual heart.
The center of your being.
Where the truth,
The essence of who you are lies.
Your basic goodness is here in your heart center.
Feeling gratitude for the ability to feel everything.
And especially to feel gratitude.
Letting that gratitude wash down each cell of your body.
And drawing it upward into your throat.
Giving thanks for your unique voice.
For the ability to make music.
To laugh.
To express all emotions.
To create.
And letting that gratitude come up into your face.
Being grateful for your nose,
Your lips,
Your eyes,
All of your senses.
And letting that gratitude come up to the crown of your head.
And just feeling the rest and ease of gratitude.
Holding you.
Enveloping you.
Nourishing you.
As you drift sweetly to sleep.
