Welcome back.
This is another of the guided meditations for a year of Buddhist wisdom.
Let's settle in together,
Softening the eyes,
Letting your attention become open and receptive,
Letting your attention become expansive so that you're open,
Attentive,
Receptive to sensations arising from all over the body as you breathe in and breathe out.
And let's particularly tune in to the sensations of the out-breathing wherever they manifest in the body.
And I have three words to offer you today that you can drop in,
One word at a time,
On the out-breath.
And the three words are release,
Rest,
Reveal.
Release,
Rest,
Reveal.
So just drop these words in,
In turn,
On the out-breaths.
And the word release can be a reminder to notice what's happening,
Notice all the letting go that happens as you breathe out.
The word rest can remind us to allow the mind to settle in to a natural sense of ease and non-striving and kindness.
The word reveal can remind you to be open to whatever's arising in this moment,
Whether in the mind or the body or some sensation arising from the outside world.
If your mind is relatively free from distractions,
You could start dropping in one of the words on every other out-breath,
Giving yourself more time to be aware of the effect that each has on your practice.
And if your mind is very stable,
You might be able to let go of the words so that you don't need to actually say them,
But still do the practice of releasing,
Resting,
Allowing your experience to reveal itself to you.
You always have the opportunity to bring the words back in again,
Or to use them on every out-breath.
Feel free to play around.
So just continuing to sit,
Observing your experience in this way for the next couple of minutes,
Until you hear the bell.
