Good evening everybody.

So how are you today?

Thank you so much for coming today.

It's a beautiful day.

Thank you for coming and practicing all together.

Today I want to share with you,

I want to talk about,

I can see a lot of new places,

New people.

We practice meditation in Buddha's teaching.

They have two main meditations,

Samatha meditation and Vipassana meditation.

We practice here today Samatha meditation.

We call tranquility meditation,

Concentration meditation.

We focus on one technique to concentrate our mind.

We practice loving kindness to ourselves and others.

We want to be happy all the world.

We send our loving and compassionate thoughts and we focus our breath to concentrate our mind.

And they have another meditation we call insight meditation,

Vipassana.

It's deeply focusing on impermanence,

About our physical body,

And deeply focusing on feeling and sensation,

And about our mind concept.

It's a deep practice.

But today we focus on tranquility meditation,

This moment our mind is tranquil and peaceful.

We practice half of our long meditation.

This moment is our training time,

Training moment.

We go to our day to day life.

It's very important thing how to use this beautiful practice to regular life.

That's the important thing.

These days Bikuni most of the time she's talking about precepts.

Thus I was thinking we train our mind beautiful qualities,

Loving kindness,

Compassion,

Economic and sympathetic joy.

This beautiful quality,

Regular life,

When we go to the regular life,

Is a practical way to use,

Using as a precepts.

How important,

How wonderful.

What we train in our mind,

We try to think.

Think generously,

Act generously,

Speak generously,

Act generously for others and oneself.

I have a story to explain about how important this practice is,

A little simple story.

There was a village,

An old woman,

She's very poor and she makes flatbread for her food for every day.

She don't have much things to survive.

She just made everyday flatbreads and she had a good things,

Good habit.

What she made,

Makes every day a flatbread she want to give to someone.

She put it outside to take to someone.

So what happened,

Every day a hunchback person,

A poor person come to her house and take that flatbread and he,

What he said,

Every day when you do bad things,

It burden you.

When you do good things,

It's comfort you.

He take the flatbread and take every day saying that.

Every day happened same thing but one day this woman was thinking,

Oh this man is not thankful.

Any one word not saying,

Not saying thank you for me,

Any nice word,

Always every day telling that saying and just left.

Then one day her resentment,

Little by little,

Little anger,

Thoughts,

Oh I will do this.

What she did,

She put poison to the flatbread.

She want to,

She get that resentment,

Became a huge anger.

But she is going to put that flatbread to outside but she's shaking her hand,

She don't want to do it.

Then what she did,

She destroyed that flatbread and put the good one.

Then she did every day same thing.

One day she stay alone and she's very poor and very,

She's not happy about herself because her son was missing long time.

She was expecting her son.

One day he came back.

He was very skinny and very sick and broken leg.

Every weekly he came to the home and he told,

I came to see you.

I drove away on the jungle.

I got the accident.

I broke my two legs.

I didn't have any help but a hung back person came every day,

I see a flatbread.

Eating that I survive myself.

That moment she was shocked.

If I put that poison flatbread,

What happened?

She was thinking and right away came her mind,

What that person every day said to her.

When you do bad things,

It burdens you.

When you do good things,

It will comfort you.

Think about ourselves.

We are practicing loving kindness.

That quality we can use in practical way,

Like as a precepts,

Not to harm anyone,

Not to lying,

Not to stealing others things.

That kind of good quality,

Seeing with ourselves,

It makes beautiful our life.

It makes that quality make more happiness,

More peace within ourselves.

It's a path to,

Another thing,

It's a path to our noble eightfold path.

It's a way to practice eightfold path.

And I have another little story.

In Sri Lanka,

We have a lot of monkeys,

Different kind of monkeys,

Huge ones.

Some have white long beards.

They are very funny and they are very curious and they are living in crew,

Living in hundreds of monkeys,

Living in crew.

One day there was a foreigner,

Went to Sri Lanka.

He is an animal researcher.

He want to learn and he is researching about the animal.

He is researching about the monkeys.

He went to the,

Living with the group,

He is looking them nearby the lake.

All the group of monkeys came and drink in water in the lake.

That moment,

They heard in the jungle area,

People,

Some hunting people,

Hunters shoot.

One shoot,

Someone shoot,

That shoot sound,

Loud sound,

Then all the monkeys get that dangerous sign.

They all jump back to the,

They had a huge tree for the safe.

That's all hundreds of monkeys,

Little baby monkeys and all.

His researcher,

He is very careful to research them what happened in the tree.

They are changing,

They are baby monkeys.

What happened?

That dangerous situation happened.

That baby,

They are getting locked,

They did not lock their own baby.

They hussy,

They took,

Grabbed them and jumped to the tree.

Then after,

They are changing their own baby monkey.

How wonderful.

Sometime as a human,

We don't have that,

That quality.

We are so self-centered,

Selfish,

Sometime.

We don't have that quality.

But he explained very,

He researched about it.

It's a very good message.

It's very,

That story is very famous in Sri Lanka because we get the terrorist attack.

But that moment,

Some people knew about that situation,

But they never let other people know.

That's why that story come up.

Think about as a human,

We can do some good things to the world,

Help to the world.

And it's make helping each other,

It's make helping own self.

It's make more peace,

Happiness in this world.

It's very interesting to think about it.

Because think,

Thinking about this world,

We have enough thing to survive for our life,

But we are not satisfied.

Sometime dissatisfaction,

We couldn't talk about last week.

That's why we are practicing and finding,

We want to find peace.

We can find peace within ourselves,

Practicing this beautiful quality to take to our day to day life.

It's make more peace and happiness.

Please think about and practice.

It's very helpful to find peace and happiness.

Thank you.
