So welcome,
My name is Nola Bloom and today I invite you into deep rest and luminous presence with a yoga nidra called full moon illumination.
The full moon reflects the quiet rhythms within us,
Cycles of becoming and releasing,
Light revealing what has always been here.
So tonight you are invited to rest in that gentle illumination,
A soft remembering of your own inner light.
So go ahead and get yourself comfortable,
Use blankets and cushions as needed.
Allow the body to settle a little more fully.
Feel the back of the body widening onto the earth,
The weight of the heels,
The softness behind the knees,
The pelvis growing heavy and supported,
The shoulder blades melting and the jaw softening,
The space between the eyebrows soothing.
Close down your eyes,
Take a slow nourishing breath in through the nose and a long unhurried breath out.
And again,
Breathing in gently,
Exhaling with ease.
Now let the breath find its own natural rhythm,
Easy,
Steady,
Unforced.
Simply follow the sound of my voice and allow yourself to be guided into deep nourishing rest.
Feel the earth receiving the entire weight of your body.
Feel the breath moving softly from within.
In this quiet space,
Allow your sankalpa to arise,
Heartfelt intention to guide your journey tonight.
Allow it to be simple and true,
Like moonlight resting on still water.
It may arise as a word,
An image,
Or a subtle,
Quiet knowing.
And if no words arise,
Trust in your own heart's wisdom that already knows the way.
Allow it to settle gently into the heart.
Now imagine yourself lying beneath the vast midnight sky.
The earth supports you completely.
The air is cool and still.
Above you,
The full moon glows softly,
Casting a silver light across the landscape.
Everything slows.
Everything listens.
You feel safe here,
Held between earth and sky,
Resting beneath the watching full moon.
Allow this gentle atmosphere to surround you,
The body soft,
The breath easy,
And the mind spacious.
And as you rest here,
Bring awareness to the center of your forehand.
A soft glow awakens,
Full,
Clear,
And radiant.
A silver pulse expanding gently.
Your inner vision opens effortlessly.
Moonlight begins to flow through your being.
Allow the luminous light of the full moon to begin its journey through the body.
Bring awareness now to the crown of your hand.
And feel a silver glow cascading down the right side of your face,
Softening your right eye,
Temple,
And cheek.
It glides down the right side of your throat,
Melting over your shoulder,
Flowing like liquid light through the right arm,
Elbow,
Wrist,
And into the palm of your right hand,
Where it pools,
Silken,
Weightless,
And luminous.
It pours effortlessly into each and every fingertip,
Shimmering like reflections on a quiet lake.
The silver radiance spirals down your right ribs,
Filling the right chamber of your heart with a soft,
Glowing warmth.
It continues down the right side of the belly,
Softening the liver,
The gallbladder,
Held in quiet ease.
The light begins to swirl in the deep bowl of the pelvis,
Slow,
Steady,
And luminous.
It moves through your waist,
Down your right thigh,
Knee,
Calf,
And ankle,
Pooling in the sole of your right foot,
Flowing into each and every toe,
Like threads of moonlight weaving through the body.
Simultaneously,
A deep indigo glow seeps through the crown of your head,
Cascading down the left side of your face,
Softening your left eye,
Temple,
And cheek.
It glides down the left side of your throat,
Over your shoulder,
Moving through your left arm,
Wrist,
And into the palm of your left hand,
Where it pools like deep twilight sky.
The indigo radiance trickles through each fingertip,
Cool and expansive,
Flowing in quiet waves.
The indigo light spirals through your left ribs and settles in the left chamber of your heart,
Like the hush of midnight stillness.
It continues into the left side of the belly,
Soothing the spleen and the stomach,
Cool and spacious.
The indigo light swirls through the deep bowl of the pelvis,
Quiet,
Fluid,
And restful.
It moves down through your left waist,
Thigh,
Calf,
And ankle,
Pooling in the sole of your left foot,
Merging into each toe like ripples in water.
Now bring awareness to the whole right side of the body,
Bathed in silver light.
Now bring awareness to the whole left side of the body,
Immersed in indigo light.
Sense the contrast,
Feel the harmony,
Silver moonlight,
Indigo night.
Imagine the silver light flowing gently inward from the right,
And the indigo light flowing inward from the left,
Like two quiet rivers returning home.
They move slowly towards the center of your chest.
As they arrive at the heart,
They begin to spiral together,
Forming a luminous sphere at the center of your being,
And cool,
Light,
And dark,
A perfect balance dissolving into a single radiant presence.
Rest here for a few nourishing breaths.
Now feel the breath as a tide,
Rising and falling,
Effortless,
Like the ocean responding to the moon's pull.
Each inhale welcomes silver light,
Each exhale softens into the vastness of the night.
Feel the breath moving through the belly,
Expanding,
Releasing,
Steady,
And unforced.
Inhale,
And exhale.
You are not doing the breathing,
You are being breathed by something greater.
Feel the luminous light moving through the body with each breath.
In this quiet radiance,
Notice the inner landscape,
Thoughts drift like clouds across the midnight sky,
Emotions move like tides beneath the full moon.
Everything is welcome here,
Simply witnessing the gentle movement of the mind and emotions held in spacious awareness,
And in this gentle luminous light,
What has been hidden can now be seen with kindness and compassion.
Awareness remains steady,
Open,
Clear,
Spacious.
You are the one who witnesses,
Quietly present,
Unmoved by the passing tides of thought and The moon does not strive to shine,
It simply illuminates.
Allow this quiet knowing to reveal itself within your heart.
Clarity rises naturally,
Like the full moon emerging from behind the clouds.
Now soften even deeper,
Breath dissolving into space,
Light and stillness merging into oneness,
Edges softening,
Effort easing,
Only luminous presence,
A vast peaceful expanse.
Now resting in the quiet fullness of your own luminous light,
The body softens a little more,
Feeling the body bathed in radiant moonlight,
The night gently yielding towards dawn,
Now gently returning to your sankalpa,
A heartfelt intention you planted at the beginning of this journey,
Like moonlight resting upon still water,
It has quietly been held within you all along.
Repeat your sankalpa inwardly now,
Three times over,
Ease and sincerity,
And trust that this heartfelt intention is already unfolding in its own perfect time.
Gently bringing awareness back into the body,
Feel the earth beneath you,
Taking the entire weight of your body,
Noticing the gentle rise and fall of the chest and belly,
And wiggling the fingers and toes,
Take a slow,
Easy breath in,
And a long,
Easy breath out.
Now draw your arms up over head,
And take a gentle stretch,
And when you're ready,
Slowly opening your eyes,
The luminous light of the full moon remains within you always.
Namaste.
