Ahimsa, the yogic principle of non-violence, invites us to live with greater kindness, awareness, and care, not only toward others, but toward ourselves. In this gentle yoga philosophy meditation, you are guided to explore Ahimsa through the lens of self-care and daily habits. Through reflection, affirmations, breath awareness, and calming imagery, this practice supports a more compassionate relationship with your body, mind, and inner life. This meditation is especially supportive if you are feeling depleted, disconnected, or ready to create healthier boundaries and routines rooted in self-love. Music by Chris Collins

Welcome,

Radiant Soul.

My name is Nola Bloom,

And today I'm inviting you into a meditation on Ahimsa,

The practice of non-violence,

Explored through the lens of self-care.

This is a practice for moments when life feels busy,

When the nervous system feels strained,

Or when the inner dialogue has become a little too harsh.

Rather than striving to be better or to do more,

This meditation offers a space to soften,

Slow down,

And remember what it feels like to treat yourself with kindness.

At the very heart of yogic philosophy is Ahimsa,

The practice of non-violence in all aspects of life.

This includes how we relate to the physical body,

The mind,

And the emotional landscape we live within.

Ahimsa is not only about how we treat those around us,

But how we meet ourselves in each moment.

When we are aligned in this practice,

We feel more alive,

More vibrant,

And more connected to a sense of inner peace.

When we drift out of alignment,

We may notice heaviness,

Irritation,

Fatigue,

Or disconnection.

Often those feelings arise from subtle,

Unconscious daily habits that carry elements of self-neglect,

Without us even realizing it.

This might show up as holding on to difficult emotions,

Not allowing enough rest,

Or not setting clear boundaries around work,

Personal time,

Or screen use.

The practice of Ahimsa gently invites us to honestly look at our daily rhythms,

And to listen more deeply to what the body and soul needs in order to feel nourished.

So go ahead and find yourself a comfortable position.

Close down the eyes.

Settle into stillness.

And allow the breath to be the only movement in the body as it finds a slow and gentle rhythm.

Allow yourself to arrive here.

There's nothing you need to fix,

Nothing you need to achieve,

Simply allowing the moment to hold you.

Take a big breath in,

And a long,

Slow breath out.

Now we'll begin with a series of Ahimsa-inspired self-care affirmations.

You can repeat them softly to yourself,

Allowing them to feel true for you in this moment.

I am worthy of receiving love.

I am worthy of being my own priority.

I am worthy of a life that feels nourishing and supportive.

I am mindful of what I put on my skin and what I put into my body.

I have a balanced and respectful relationship with my electronic devices.

I allow myself for movement and physical care so I feel renewed,

Refreshed,

And recharged.

I allow myself time for yoga,

Meditation,

And practices that bring peace to my mind and serenity to my heart.

I give myself permission to rise and shine and live in alignment with my fullest potential.

Now take a few quiet moments to allow each affirmation to touch the body,

Mind,

And heart.

Feel how kindness towards yourself creates space inside.

Notice what softens when there is no inner pressure to be anything other than what you are.

Imagine yourself sitting in the middle of a wide open field.

Soft grass moves beneath you.

Soft flowers bloom nearby.

Butterflies drift peacefully through the air.

Warm sunlight touches your skin.

And the gentle scent of the earth and flowers help you feel calm and peaceful.

It is quiet here.

The only sounds are the subtle rhythms of nature surrounding you.

You sense deeply that this is where you need to be.

You feel grounded,

Supported,

And safe.

Now softly whisper the word Ahimsa.

Feel how softly speaking this word activates the sense of gentleness and awareness throughout the body,

Mind,

And spirit.

Ahimsa.

Bring awareness to your heart center.

Quietly reflect on the following questions.

What does it mean to truly embody Ahimsa in my daily life?

What habits or patterns do I have that may no longer be aligned with kindness towards myself?

What gentle changes could support a more loving and nourished way of living?

What would help my body,

Mind,

And soul to feel truly supported?

Allow any sensations,

Emotions,

Or insights to arise and move through your body.

There is no need to analyze or change anything.

Simply witnessing with gentleness is already an act of Ahimsa.

Ahimsa.

Now reflect on any boundaries you may need to strengthen or create in order to protect your time,

Energy,

And emotional well-being.

Give yourself permission to say no to anything that feels draining.

Give yourself permission to say yes to what makes your soul feel truly alive.

Now visualize yourself rising and moving freely through the tall grass of the field.

Feel the warmth of the sun on your face.

And the grass brushing gently through your fingertips.

In your heart,

You know you deserve to feel well.

In your heart,

You know you deserve to shine.

Breathe in self-love.

Breathe out self-care.

This is the living practice of Ahimsa.

Namaste.
