A sacred ritual to nurture your whole being. In this guided self-massage journey, your hands rest gently on your belly — the center of vitality, intuition, and inner balance. Through mindful breath, gentle touch, and soothing visualization, you’ll harmonize body, mind, and spirit, creating space for deep renewal. Inspired by ancient Taoist abdominal healing arts, this ritual focuses on the gentle massage of the internal organs, supporting digestion, releasing stored emotions, and enhancing energy flow. It’s a beautiful companion during times of reflection, emotional processing, or physical cleansing, inviting you to connect with your body’s wisdom. No prior experience is needed — you’ll be guided step-by-step in a safe, nurturing way. All that’s required is a quiet space, a comfortable position, and an openness to receive. Let this sacred belly ritual be a gentle homecoming — a union of body, mind, and spirit. Music by Chris Collins

Welcome,

Radiant soul.

My name is Nola Bloom,

And today I invite you into the Sacred Belly Ritual,

A practice drawn from the ancient art of qi net zheng.

An abdominal massage that awakens flow,

Releases tension,

And reconnects you to your inner wisdom.

This meditation can be used anytime you wish to reconnect with your emotional and energetic core.

It's especially supportive during a cleanse or while receiving a colonic,

Offering a space of calm,

Connection,

And gentle guidance through the inner terrain.

This is a sacred invitation to listen inward.

Your belly is more than just a place of digestion,

It is a temple of memory,

Intuition,

And resilience.

We will travel gently clockwise through your abdomen,

Following the natural flow of digestion.

With each organ,

We'll explore touch,

Breath,

And emotions,

Inviting spaciousness,

Compassion,

And release.

There's no need to force anything.

We'll move slowly and with reverence,

Using gentle spirals of the fingers,

And long strokes that follow the flow of breath and inner rivers of energy.

To begin,

Take a moment to set your space,

Dim the lights,

Lie down with a cushion beneath your knees,

And cover your legs with a light blanket.

For massage oil,

I recommend coconut,

Almond,

Or jojoba,

Perhaps blended with a few essential oils such as frankincense,

Lavender,

Or sandalwood.

This helps to soothe the nervous system and connect you more deeply to this inner work.

Now take your massage oil and rub a small amount between your palms.

Close down your eyes.

Allow the aroma to rise and meet you.

Breathe it in as a soft invitation inward.

Begin to spread the warmed oil around your belly,

Using wide,

Slow,

Clockwise circles.

Allow your hands to explore the full surface of the abdomen,

Without any specific direction.

Let your palms glide over your skin as your breath finds a steady rhythm.

Now bring your hands to rest on your lower belly,

The gateway of your center.

Let them settle in stillness.

Feel the warmth beneath your palms and the quiet breath rising and falling,

Like waves lapping against the shore.

Inhale gently.

Let your belly rise beneath your hands and exhale,

Softening into the earth beneath you.

And whisper within,

This is a ritual of release.

I soften into my center and allow my emotions to flow.

Begin to trace gentle spirals with your fingers around your navel.

This is your hara,

The meeting place of breath,

Digestion and deep awareness.

The center of vitality and presence.

Using the tips of your fingers,

Make slow,

Light spirals outward from the navel in a clockwise direction.

As you circle,

Alternate with tender pressing and releasing,

Allowing the tissues to soften and respond beneath your touch.

You may also rake your fingers outwards,

Like ripples spreading across a still pond.

Let your breath guide you.

Inhale presence.

Exhale,

Soften into the sacred core.

Slide your hands to the lower right abdomen,

Just above the right hip.

This is the beginning of your large intestine,

The ascending colon where digestion moves upward.

With soft,

Intuitive strokes,

Make small circles upward along the right side of the belly.

Trace a gentle,

Vertical path with your fingertips,

Lifting and scooping as you travel towards the ribcage.

Use your whole palm to apply a long,

Upward stroke.

Then,

Lift lightly and return to the base.

Try alternating your left and right hands like a slow,

Rhythmic wave,

Mimicking the natural motion of digestion.

This area helps us to receive,

Absorb,

And begin the journey of letting go.

It may hold resistance or the need to control.

Let your fingers coax it gently open.

Like sunlight entering a window on a warm summer's day.

Breathe in openness.

Breathe out rigidity.

Now move to the area beneath your right ribcage.

Here lies your liver,

The body's alchemist,

Transforming toxins,

Filtering emotions,

And fueling regeneration.

Make slow spirals under the ribs,

Pausing,

And returning to the base.

To press gently and release.

Use your thumbs or fingertips to scoop upward beneath the ribcage,

Lifting as you breathe deeply.

Sweep your hands gently inward from the sides of the ribcage.

Press your fingers under the lower ribs,

Tilting them slightly inward,

Then releasing with the out breath.

This gives space for deep organ contact without force.

The liver often stores anger,

Resentment,

And frustration,

Emotions that need movement.

Let your breath move these emotions out as your hands invite forgiveness,

And spaciousness in.

Inhale transformation.

Exhale resistance.

Now shift your attention slightly downward and to the side.

Tucked just beneath the liver is the gallbladder,

Your reservoir of courage and clarity.

Massage along the outer edge of the right ribcage,

Tracing the gallbladder's gentle arc.

Use small circles and long sweeps downward,

Offering presence to this tiny yet powerful organ.

The gallbladder governs decision making and assertiveness,

Helping us to digest not only facts,

But the choices of our lives.

Inhale clarity.

Exhale indecision.

Now bring your focus to the center upper abdomen,

Just beneath the sternum.

Here rests your stomach,

The sacred chamber that receives and digests not only food,

But emotions and experiences.

With soft spirals and gentle kneading,

Massage this area in a clockwise motion,

Using slow,

Full-palmed movements,

And allow your thumbs to press gently downward,

Releasing any held tension.

The stomach is sensitive and responsive.

It may hold worry,

Anxiety,

Or overwhelm.

Soften your breath.

Let your hands bring a message of trust.

You are safe to receive.

Breathe in nourishment.

Exhale worry.

Now glide your hands slightly left of center to the upper quadrant of your belly,

Beneath the ribs.

This is where your spleen and pancreas reside,

Side by side.

The spleen is your inner gardener,

Filtering blood,

Recycling energy,

And strengthening immunity.

It holds our capacity to trust life and to feel emotionally stable.

The pancreas processes sugar and governs the sweetness of experience,

Helping to regulate both blood sugar and joy.

Massage here with circular,

Sweeping motions.

Begin just beneath the ribs and move slowly downward and inward,

Using both palms to sweep towards the center line.

Press gently inward on your inhale.

Soften and release on your exhale.

These organs can carry overthinking,

Worry,

And mental fatigue.

Let your hands offer clarity.

Let your breath invite breath.

Balance.

Inhale sweetness.

Exhale excess thought.

Now move your hands to the lower left abdomen,

Just above the left hip.

This is the descending colon,

Where waste is carried downward and released.

Use firm yet gentle pressure.

Stroke downward in long,

Sweeping motions.

Make small spirals as you move from under the ribs to the hip bone,

Inviting energy to move down and out.

You can press gently with the heel of your hand,

Or make slow,

Steady pulses using the fingertips.

Always in rhythm with your breath.

This area helps us to let go of what is no longer serving us,

Of emotions we've held too long and attachments we've outgrown.

Inhale courage.

Exhale release.

Now slide your hands towards the center of your belly,

Surrounding the area around your navel.

This is the home of your small intestine,

A long,

Winding river where nutrients are absorbed and integrated into your system.

Make long spirals across your full belly,

Moving slowly in a clockwise motion.

Use gentle raking movements with your fingertips from the outer edges of your belly inward.

Then sweep back out again like gentle waves.

Alternate hands in fluid patterns.

Soften the touch.

This area is sensitive,

Both physically and emotionally.

The small intestine governs discernment and clarity.

It helps us separate what to take in and what to release,

Physically and energetically.

Inhale integration.

Exhale release.

Inhale confusion.

Now gently reach both hands to the sides and back of your lower ribs and waist.

These are the areas of the kidneys,

Your reservoirs of vitality.

Now cup your hands and gently tap or rub the kidney area,

Stimulating warmth and flow.

Then glide your palms downward and forward to the lower abdomen,

Resting above the bladder.

This space holds water energy.

The kidneys filter your blood and store your essence.

The bladder allows flow and release.

Use gentle strokes down the sides of the belly.

Then rest your palms above the pubic bone.

Circle the area in soft spirals,

Pressing and releasing with rhythmic breath.

These organs are deeply linked to fear and fatigue.

They accompany imbalance.

Invite a deep sense of trust,

Rest,

And renewal.

Inhale resilience.

Exhale fear.

Start to slow the motions of your hands.

Feel your hands resting once more on the lower abdomen,

Letting your touch fade to stillness.

Feel the echoes of all you've softened and stirred.

Slide your hands to your heart center,

Acknowledging the journey.

Then let them gently fall down by your sides in full savasana.

Your hands have offered so much love.

Let them rest now.

Let your body fully receive.

Allow the breath to return to its natural rhythm.

Feel your belly soften.

Feel the rivers of your body flowing clear and calm.

The warmth of your touch is echoing deep inside.

There is nothing more to do.

No place to go.

Just rest in the radiant stillness you have created.

Gently start to bring awareness back into your body.

Place one hand on your belly and the other on your heart.

Feel the pulse of life beneath your palms.

Whisper within,

Thank you,

Sacred body.

Thank you,

Sacred breath.

Thank you,

Sacred belly.

Thank you,

Sacred heart.

This is your time to rise.

Go drink a glass of warm water and be tender with yourself today.

You have done deep and beautiful work.

Namaste
