Take a moment to make yourself comfortable.
Take any adjustments,
The body feels aligned and relaxed.
And if it feels good to do so,
You can close your eyes.
Take a big inhale.
Feel the belly and chest rise.
And with a long exhale,
Let your whole body soften.
Another deep inhale through the nose.
And long exhale through the nose.
Continue to breathe deeply.
This meditation will explore navigating fear.
Fear is a powerful teacher.
It's a messenger.
A healer.
Hidden beneath the surface of all that you're afraid of lies a deeper meaning.
A buried treasure and a secret teaching.
Fear serves a greater purpose in our lives than to be warred with or wished away.
Fear is a gateway to freedom and a messenger of love.
If you listen closely with a curious heart,
You can learn how to hear the whispers of fear's wisdom.
Intended to bring you into greater alignment in love.
To live life more fully and awaken your highest potential.
In the wondrous darkness of our deepest fears,
Our greatest healing is revealed.
But fear is a master of disguise and wears many masks.
Whether fear shows up at the doorstep of your awareness as perfectionism or procrastination.
Anxiety or anger.
Depression,
Indecision or doubt.
Whether it's success or failure you fear.
Rejection or abandonment.
Afraid of being unworthy or unlovable.
Being seen or not.
Fear of pain or the death of the ego.
If fear has been popping up at the window of your heart,
Dear one,
It's time to unmask your fear.
To find freedom from fear,
Start by welcoming it in.
Make space in your life for fear to lay its precious gifts.
Embrace it with curiosity and wonder and ask for it to reveal its hidden wisdom.
What is it that fear so desperately wishes for you to hear?
Curiously and courageously,
Compassionately lean into that fear.
To look into your fears doesn't mean you need to stay there.
It doesn't require you to lose yourself in the darkness or abandon all optimism or hope.
It doesn't mean you should do what fear tells you to do or to not.
Fear simply asks for you to make space for it.
To hear it out and embrace it with your compassion and integrate the wisdom hidden beneath its surface.
It takes courage to lean into fear.
To look into the shadows,
To turn towards the darkness when instinct is to turn away.
But the freedom you seek is right there,
Hidden inside your fear.
The cure for fear is inside the fear.
It isn't your enemy.
Fear is an ally in the path towards your highest potential.
It's the rejection of fear,
The avoidance and warring with it that keeps it at bay,
Which keeps you stuck.
What would happen if you made a space for fear in your life?
To simply be with it,
To hold it with compassionate arms and become one with it.
To shine the light of your awareness into its darkness.
To honor it and shower it with your compassion and find its buried treasure of what it has to teach you.
Dear one,
It's safe to look into the dark corners of yourself from time to time.
Soften the spaces in you that close off and contract in the face of fear.
Bring your courageous and compassionate heart into the shadows of life and trust that even in fear,
You're safe.
Now bring your attention to your breathing.
Begin to breathe into the heart space.
Feeling as though the breath flows directly into the heart.
And gradually become aware of the area behind your heart.
And sense the presence of a divine energy within you.
Your highest self.
Feel the most wise,
Loving,
Compassionate part of yourself.
Holding a sacred space for your entire being.
Creating space for all parts of you,
Both your light and your shadow.
Breathe into that presence for a moment.
And continue to breathe deeply into the heart space.
And now start to connect to the most fearful aspect of you.
Let yourself feel into the feeling of fear.
And imagine or visualize this presence of fear in you as a small,
Innocent child.
This child lives in you.
This child is a part of you.
And imagine your highest self,
The wise,
Loving presence within you.
Holding a safe and compassionate space for this innocent child.
Now continue to breathe deeply as you follow this visualization.
Imagine you as your highest self.
Seated comfortably in front of a warm,
Cozy fireplace on a cool winter evening.
Sitting near the fire,
You admire its radiance,
Warmth,
And light.
You take a deep breath,
Feeling calm and content as you enjoy the peaceful silence and stillness that surrounds you.
And suddenly,
Emerging out of the quiet of the night,
You hear a gentle knock on your front door.
You calmly get up from the warm nest of pillows and blankets beside the fire and walk to the door.
Opening it slowly,
You find a young child standing outside in the dark of the night.
You,
Your highest self,
See this child is very afraid.
You warmly smile and lovingly welcome the child inside.
You invite the child to sit down with you by the warmth of the fire and offer this child something to bring them comfort and warmth.
Perhaps a cozy blanket or a warm drink.
You lovingly smile at the child and ask them now,
What are you afraid of,
Dear one?
In holding this child in a sacred space of unconditional love,
There's no judgment,
No shame.
The child can't do or say anything wrong in this space.
Allow the child to speak,
To fully express their fear unfiltered.
And listen deeply to the child's fears now.
When the child has finished sharing,
You nod lovingly in understanding and acknowledgement and ask if the child wants to sit in your lap.
The child feels safe and climbs up into your lap as you embrace the child with love.
And with empathy and curiosity,
Ask the child now,
Where do you feel this fear in your body,
Dear one?
Watch the child point to themselves somewhere on their body.
And lovingly invite the two of you to breathe into that space of fear together.
Take a few deep breaths into any contracted,
Tense or fearful parts of the body.
Together,
You breathe yourselves open.
And feeling safe and open,
The child now wants to ask you a question.
Looking up into your eyes,
The child now asks,
What has this fear come to reveal to me?
What can I learn from this fear?
You,
Your highest self,
Can see clearly the buried treasure beneath the surface of this child's fear.
With the child listening intently,
Lovingly share your wisdom now of what this fear is trying to teach them.
And when you finish sharing,
The child thanks you for your love,
Your presence and insight.
You feel them wrap their arms around you in a loving hug.
And you warmly embrace the child in return.
Feel your heart connecting with the love and compassion you have for this inner child and their fears.
And as you embrace this child with total love and acceptance,
Imagine them filling with light.
Becoming light.
And visualize their light dissolving into your heart.
Merging into the safety,
The comfort and love of your highest self.
Witness the two of you becoming one.
And now slowly letting go of this visualization.
Feel yourself present again in your current space,
In your body.
Taking a deep breath.
Take a moment to thank this child.
A symbol of your own innocent fear.
Thank your higher self which represents your inner wisdom,
Courage and compassion.
Offer your gratitude to the presence of fear in your life for the insights and lessons you can learn from it.
For the wisdom and expansion awakened by fear.
Intended to guide you into greater alignment to yourself,
To life and to love.
Without the wondrous darkness of fear,
We would never know the beauty of light.
Now take a moment to notice how you feel and reflect upon the practice.
Make a commitment to bringing these insights with you into the rest of your day.
Namaste.
