This guided meditation opens and integrates three vital centers, or brains: the head, heart, and hara, or gut. These centers are considered vital to physical health and spiritual awareness and awakening in many systems, including Celtic mysticism and Taoism. You will explore the qualities of each center before integrating them. This meditation can lead to deep states of spaciousness and openness grounded in bodily awareness through the hara.

Transcript

As we begin this meditation,

Let's take a couple deep relaxing breaths,

Just breathing in and a nice relaxing exhale,

Letting everything go.

And again breathing in through the nose,

Exhaling through the mouth,

Relaxing,

Letting everything go.

And letting body,

Heart,

And mind relax and open,

Soften and open.

Letting the mind relax and open,

Letting it rest,

Letting it return to its primordial,

Empty openness,

Open and vast like the blue sky above,

Endless,

Spacious,

Open and vast like the starry sky.

So spacious it can contain anything.

Open,

Spacious,

Empty like the blue sky.

So let your mind rest,

Thoughts arising,

Thoughts disappearing like clouds against the vast sky above.

Let the mind rest.

Let the mind be open.

Let the heart rest.

Let the heart be open.

Feel into the chest wall.

Is there any tightness,

Any guarding of the heart?

Just notice what is.

And let the heart open.

Let it open to its natural state.

Open,

Vast in scope,

Embracing,

Encompassing,

Touching all life.

The life of beloved intimates,

The life of casual acquaintances,

And of strangers we will never know.

So let your heart be open,

Spacious,

Radiant,

Radiating out to all beings,

Feeling,

Sensing life at all levels.

Let the heart and mind be open,

Vast,

Spacious.

Effortlessly so,

This is their natural state.

No trying required.

Just let them relax and open into the natural state.

Breathing into the belly,

Aware of tension,

Tightness in the belly.

Let the belly open.

Let the belly open and relax to its natural,

Primordial openness.

Connection to the ground of being,

Our connection to effortless presence,

Our connection to the physicality of the body.

And you might just feel into your physical body its aches and pains,

Its power and strength to do and to accomplish,

To move decisively when appropriate.

And breathe into the belly,

Into this potential for embodiment,

For action,

For presence in the world.

Let the belly open to its own spacious presence,

Its own infinite potential,

Effortlessly opening to its natural state.

And just sit and breathe into all of that right now,

With perhaps a faint smile and an inward smile,

Smiling belly,

Gently smiling heart,

Smiling mind.

Breathe spirit in to all your body.

Let your three centers integrate,

Intermingle,

Communicate with each other.

Open,

Relaxed,

Spacious body.

Open,

Relaxed,

Spacious heart,

Touching all,

Feeling all,

In relationship with all.

Open,

Relaxed,

Spacious blue sky mind,

With space for everything,

Knowing everything.

You are mind,

Heart,

And body.

You are the temple of spirit in mind,

Heart,

And body.

Rest as that embodiment now.

Effortlessly,

Easily,

It is a natural state.

Let the self relax into the self.

Let it rest upon the self.

And you just be you,

Breathing in spirit,

Being spirit.

Being the you that you are.

And as this meditation closes,

Remember,

You always have access to this state within you.

Just remember the feeling of it,

The feeling in your body,

In your heart,

In your mind.

Invoke it and relax into it,

Effortlessly relax into this ever-present state,

Your own natural primordial state,

Open,

Aware,

Receptive.
