In today’s meditation, if it helps, think of me as a presence, a presence who is here, listening with the ear of my heart, as St. Benedict says. Let this time and space be a container. Let this hold all that you need to release and surrender. How are you doing? Let your answers come. Let your litanies flow. Don’t stop them. Don’t judge them. Let this space hold whatever needs to be held. What are your burdens? What is pressing on you, making it difficult to take another step forward?

Welcome to a hit of hope.

And in today's meditation,

If it helps,

Think of me as a presence,

A presence who is here,

Listening with the ear of my heart,

As Saint Benedict says.

Let this time and space be a container.

Let this hold all that you need to release and surrender.

Inhale.

Exhale.

How are you doing?

I mean it.

How are you doing?

Let your answers come.

Let your litanies flow.

Don't stop them.

Don't judge them.

How are you?

Inhale.

Exhale.

Let this space hold whatever needs to be held.

What are your burdens?

What is pressing on you,

Making it difficult to take another step forward?

Inhale.

Exhale.

Let this space hold whatever needs to be held.

How is your heart?

How is your heart?

Has the light gone out?

Inhale.

Exhale.

What are you afraid of?

It might be tempting to say everything,

But name the things.

Drag them out of the dark and into the world.

Let this space hold them so you do not have to anymore.

Inhale.

Exhale.

What are you tired of?

What are the sources of your weariness?

Let this space be a place where you can rest.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Let it go.

Now let this quiet space settle inside.

Let this quiet space spread.

Let your breath bring life into your body.

Let the fears float away as you exhale.

This doesn't mean everything will magically be better by the end of this,

But it does mean that you have let your wise and maybe wounded self have the opportunity to speak deeply,

To breathe,

To surrender,

And rest.

Inhale.

Exhale.

May you find the strength of spirit to walk on into whatever forest or field,

Mountain or valley is next.

May you stay grounded,

Tender,

Open,

Full of wonder and hope,

Life and light.

Namaste.

Thanks again, Betsy. This is a great way to start or just check in, for every day of my life. I often forget to ask these questions of myself, but just honoring the questions makes me feel more fully alive.

I have so many answers to all of these questions. I'm gonna use it as a journal prompt and contemplate them. Been getting back into writing. This one is as wonderful....as they all are. Namaste 🙏

A wounded warrior is still a warrior. We still carry pain (of all kinds) and fear and grief and anger and regret. But we fight on every day and some of us were lucky enough to have made our way through our darkness to this space, to this little oasis of light. And we found you. Thank fuck we found you Betsy. Namaste 🌟🖤🙏

Oh, Betsy, how I missed you this week! You have the ear of my soul. I hope this space, the space that is all your listeners, can be a balm for you. And happy Insight Timer birthday (as a teacher, anyway)! I first found you whilst looking for very short meditations, and I was immediately struck by how Real you felt. You had a handful of practices posted, and although I was very tempted to listen to them all in a row, I also wanted to save them, since I didn't know if there'd be many more. And now, well over 100!! I am in awe and so very very grateful. I've been planning to make myself a database of all of them, with a brief note of what each is about, so that I can go back anytime and find just the right one for the moment. I hope you and your new home and garden are doing well. 💖👂💖 (Sparkley heart = heart + soul? Maybe?)
