When you don’t know where to find the strength to go on, return to your center. When it’s too much, return to your center. When there’s not enough money, help, food, support, kindness, attention, whatever, return to your center. When it sucks, return to your center. Maybe cry. Maybe scream. Maybe sit with the desolation and hopelessness. But then remember your center.

Welcome to a hit of hope.

When it hurts,

Hold on to your center.

When it's hard,

Hold on to your center.

When you are caught up in things you can't control,

Hold on to your center.

When you find yourself returning to a pattern that doesn't serve you,

Return to your center.

When you want to give up,

Return to your center.

When you don't know where to find the strength to go on,

Return to your center.

When it's too much,

Go back to your center.

When there's not enough,

Not enough money,

Help,

Food,

Support,

Kindness,

Attention,

Whatever,

Return to your center.

When it sucks,

Hold on to your center.

Maybe cry,

Maybe scream,

Maybe sit with the desolation and hopelessness,

But remember your center.

Remember that wondrous space inside of you,

The one that is filled with more strength than you can imagine,

The one that surprises you with all of the ways it helps you to survive.

Remember that wondrous space.

When it gets hard,

Return to your center and breathe in and out.

And may you be free from fear and safe from harm.

Namaste.

Can't believe I haven't listened to this one Betsy. After midnight and a full on day preparing for tomorrow's appointments. Thank you for always providing the right words at the right time! I'm going to listen to this tomorrow morning as I need to be strong and organized. Sending you the normal 🙂🌻🌞 Hope you are home safe.

When things don’t go as planned, I will let myself have a short "pity party". But then I get up and show my strength. When things didn’t go the way I wanted them to go my mom would say, “Put on your big girl panties and prove yourself to others that you really are strong”!

As always, brilliance disguised as brevity. Even in the best of times, it can still come up out of nowhere and punch me in the throat. Two days ago, she was gone for 9 months. It was late in a very active, greatly enjoyed day of travel adventure in Custer State Park, South Dakota, and I was journaling before bed when, as I always do, I wrote the date at the end of the entry. The thirteenth? fuck. Then the guilt, for missing it. Then more guilt, for the new relationship I'm working to build. Then the self-flagellation for feeling the guilt. Thus begins the cycle, the downward spiral. Breathe. Let the dog lay his head in your lap; he knows what you need. Breathe. Center. Forgive yourself. Love yourself like she loved you. Return To Center. Thank you, Betsy. Again.

absolutely loved this. With everything going on in the world right now, it is the perfect message, just go back and Center yourselfe. lately i feel like I'm in the midst of a storm out in the sea holding onto my Center is just like holding on to the Mast and being blown around in every direction. I'm still holding on to my Center even if only barley. some days. I have never spent so much time working with my root chakra as I have the past six or seven months now. just to try to stay grounded and centered. but it's working. thanks for for inspiring words....again Namaste 🙏

This encapsulates everything I love about Betsy's meditations: her words are thoughtful and encouraging; the rhythm, cadence and tone remind me that she's been through all kinds of challenges, just like me; and she is obviously speaking directly to me. These are some of the most powerful meditations I've found.

I struggle with abstract concepts like centering. But this was helpful nonetheless. Reading that you are also on a journey of healing makes it more meaningful and I am interested in exploring more of your meditations. I like your tone, different as it is. I hope you do not feel pressured to adjust it to what some listeners may feel more used to.
