Hello,
And welcome to the Peacekeeper Project.
My name is Ben.
Now,
Today I want to talk about intuition,
Why it's a sacred gift,
And why our rational mind creates limits to it,
And then what you can do about it.
Now,
Albert Einstein said,
The intuitive mind is a sacred gift,
And the rational mind a faithful servant.
We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.
We have an intuitive mind and we have a rational mind.
Sometimes they work together,
They support each other,
And other times they don't.
Often we'll have this intuitive impulse about something,
But then our rational mind takes over.
It cuts in and tries to make logical sense of our intuition,
And when it can't,
It rationalizes away our intuition,
And we minimize it,
And we disregard it.
Has that ever happened to you?
Have you ever ignored your intuition to make a more logical decision,
Only later realizing that your intuition was right,
And that you should have followed it?
I know I have.
We've all done it.
We've all done it many times.
Now an important distinction to make is that the rational mind has limits.
It needs to make logical sense of things,
Logical connections and conclusions,
While the intuitive mind is limitless.
It does not have to make logical connections and conclusions.
The intuitive mind has a simple knowing.
Intuition can feel like a knowing.
We know something,
But we don't necessarily know how we know.
We just know.
And for the rational mind,
That can be uncomfortable,
Because it needs to make logical sense of things,
And when it can't,
It doesn't like it.
It tries to maintain control.
But the intuitive mind understands the connections between all things.
Sometimes this will make logical sense to the rational mind,
But other times,
It won't.
So what can you do with this?
How can you use this to deepen your trust in your intuition?
Well,
Part of learning to trust your intuition is knowing the difference between your intuitive mind,
Intuitive thoughts,
And your rational mind,
And rational thoughts,
Because they feel different.
And if we don't pay attention,
Then we may not even realize what part of our mind we're actually listening to and following.
So what are some of the differences?
What's the distinction?
How do they feel different?
Well,
The rational mind feels like,
That makes sense.
I can understand that logically.
The intuitive mind feels like,
That feels right.
I don't need to understand logic.
When they both align,
It feels good.
The intuitive mind is simple,
And the rational mind can make sense of it.
But what about when they don't align?
That's more challenging.
So when we feel our intuition,
It feels good,
It feels right,
There's a rightness to it,
It feels light.
But when there's a conflict between our rational and our intuitive mind,
The rational mind might hear the intuition,
But it's like,
Yeah,
But what about this,
Or what about that?
And if I do that,
Then that'll mean this.
It's trying to make sense of something that it really can't.
The intuitive mind feels simple,
It just is.
This is the way,
Or this is the thing to do,
Or not do.
But to the rational mind,
It just doesn't make sense.
To the rational mind,
It's like a mathematical equation that it just can't solve.
So can you feel the difference?
Can you notice it,
Can you recognize it in yourself,
How they feel different?
So I just really encourage you to notice,
Pay attention to the rational part of you and the intuitive part of you.
Notice how they feel different.
No judging,
Just noticing.
And be curious,
Be curious to understand.
Notice where in your life you ignore your intuition to prioritize your rational mind.
So the more we can discern and feel the difference between our intuitive mind and our rational mind,
The more we'll trust our intuition,
Because we can know the difference,
We know the difference between the two.
And I'm also going to highly recommend that you watch a previous video of mine,
Why we don't listen to our intuition.
In that one I talk more about one of the other reasons why we ignore our intuition.
Because our intuition is always there,
It's always there in the background.
It's part of the foundation of who we are.
It's this wisdom,
This intuition of the heart.
And if we stop ignoring it and stop rationalizing it away,
Trusting our intuition will just be natural.
All right,
Now let me know in the comments below how you go.
Did this make sense and did it help you to trust your intuition?
All right,
That's it for now.
Thank you for being here and I appreciate your presence.
Until the next time,
Quiet your mind and live from your heart.
