Breath Of Connection
I travelled to the UK as my father was very sick. We were unable to visit him in hospital as he was under quarantine. A kindly nurse broke the rules and allowed me into the ward today for a couple of minutes. I connected with my father. I connected to all the emotion that was locked up inside me. That moment of connection was the whole world to me. Please join us in a special Breath of Connection. It may be the chance for you to connect with something, or someone, that is missing in your life.

So please find your safe space,
Your comfortable space in which to begin this breathwork.
And start breathing gently through the nose at first.
Feel your body,
Feel where it is resting.
Feel where it is supported and held.
Feel your body move as you breathe.
And then on an inhale,
Take your awareness inside to that place of stillness within and connect to yourself there.
Make to your wise self,
Your brave self,
Your deep self,
Your innocent self,
Your magic self,
Connect to all of yourself.
And before we begin our breathwork,
Just drop in and feel what is it that you would like to connect to?
Is there something that you are disconnected from,
Someone maybe,
An emotion perhaps,
A memory?
What is it that you would like to connect to?
Is there someone present in your life?
Is there someone who is passed from your life?
Is there an emotion that you know that you need to feel?
Is your hands on your heart or wherever feels good on your body and breathe for a moment and just feel what is it that you would like to connect to?
Now let's begin our breathwork.
Open your mouth wide,
Really wide.
Start taking full body breaths into every part of your body,
Into your belly,
Into your chest,
Into your shoulders,
Into your hips,
Breathe into your legs and your arms,
Breathe into your head and your heart.
If it feels good,
Keep your breath connected with no pauses at the top and no pauses at the bottom.
Pull on the inhale and let go on the exhale.
Drop into your breath because it knows what you need.
That's it.
Keep breathing.
As we begin our breathwork,
We are going to take a few more breaths.
As we begin our breathwork journey,
What is it that you need to connect to?
What is it that you need to feel?
Let your breath take you there.
And that's it.
Breathe in your own style at your own pace,
To your own depth.
Let every breath take you deeper.
Let it take you away where you need to go and let it give you what you need.
Breathe fully,
Breathe freely.
Let your breath connect you to what you need.
Breathe in.
Now commit to your breath as we start this breathwork journey.
You are here to breathe.
What does that breathwork look like for you?
What does it feel like?
There is no wrong way to do this.
So if it is through your nose,
Breathe through your nose.
If it is through your mouth,
Breathe deeply through your mouth.
Let your breath fall into every part of your body.
Feel how wonderful that can be.
Find your own rhythm.
Find your own speed.
Let your breath breathe you.
Let it take you deeper.
Let it take you deeper.
Stay present with your breath.
Stay committed to your breath.
Then it is in.
Then it is in.
Let your breath connect you to what it is that you need.
Full,
Deep,
Beautiful breaths.
And as we go deeper into our journey,
The music will start increasing in pace.
In tempo and in consistency.
And if it feels good,
Let that guide you even deeper.
Let it take you deeper.
What is it that you need to connect to?
Is there a heart?
Is there a soul?
Is there a higher self of your own that you need to feel?
Breathe into that now.
Do you need to breathe into strength?
Do you need to know that you can do this?
You have that strength inside you.
The universe will not give you anything you cannot handle.
So breathe into that.
As you go deeper,
Start to connect in to what you need.
Start to feel.
Start to receive.
Breathe it all in.
Breathe it out.
Breathe it out.
That's it.
Stay present with your breath.
Stay committed to your breath.
As we begin our climb,
As we begin our ascent to the peak of our breathwork,
Feel your breath start to give you what you need.
Is it hope?
Is it strength?
Connect to your voice.
Connect to your pain.
Maybe connect to your ancestors.
Connect to everything.
Connect to it all.
Connect to the feeling.
Breathe and feel.
Breathe and connect.
Breathe and feel.
Breathe and feel.
Breathe and feel.
Breathe and feel.
Breathe and feel.
We have one song left at the climb and I want you to really commit to your breath for this track.
Full deep body breaths into every part of your body.
With your mouth open or with your mouth closed.
Pull on the inhale,
Let go on the exhale.
Surrender to your breath,
Open to your breath.
Let it connect.
Let it take you to where you need to go.
Let it give you what you need.
But for the next three minutes,
Really stay committed and stay present with your breath.
That's it.
Let's do it.
Let's do it.
Let's do it.
Keep breathing.
You've got this.
Take it all in.
Feel everything.
30 more seconds till you reach the top.
Let's do it.
Let's do it.
Let's do it.
And now let yourself really open.
Let yourself surrender.
Let yourself melt into your breath.
No pushing,
No forcing,
No straining.
Open and surrender.
Is there someone in your life who is no longer with you?
Who you need to connect to?
Is there someone who is no longer in your life that you need to connect to?
Let your breath connect you.
Let your breath connect you.
If there are tears,
Let them come.
If there is joy,
Join the memories of that person.
Let yourself feel that too.
If there is grief or laughter,
Let yourself feel it all.
Let yourself feel it all.
Let yourself feel it all.
Full deep breaths but gentle and kind.
As if your breath is cradling you.
Like a mother cradles a newborn child.
Is there someone who is in your life right now that you wish to connect to?
Maybe a deeper connection.
Maybe a different connection.
Maybe to love them more or not get distracted by the surface things that don't matter.
Is there someone who is in your life now that you wish to connect to more or differently or deeper?
Let everything that doesn't matter slip away.
Let yourself feel it all.
Let yourself feel it all.
Let yourself feel it all.
Let yourself feel it all.
Let yourself feel it all.
Let yourself feel it all.
Let yourself feel it all.
Let yourself feel it all.
Let yourself feel it all.
Let yourself feel it all.
Let yourself feel it all.
Is there a final track this evening?
Is there something in you that you wish to connect to more?
Is there a part of you that you need to feel?
A part of you that is hidden,
That hasn't been seen?
Is there an emotion,
A habit that you wish to connect to more?
For our final track this evening,
What is it in you that you need to connect to?
Breathe it all in.
Feel everything.
Let your breath give you exactly what you need.
Let yourself feel it all.
Take a few breaths in the space behind everything else.
We'll wait here a few minutes and then I'll play one track to bring us back.
Let yourself feel it all.
Let yourself feel it all.
Let yourself feel it all.
Let yourself feel it all.
Let yourself feel it all.
Bring a bit of movement back into your body.
Your fingers and your toes.
Start to move your shoulders and your hips.
Wrap your arms around yourself and hold yourself.
Keep moving.
Maybe stretching,
Rolling your shoulders,
Extending your feet and your hands.
Feel how wonderful it is to have a body.
Now be rolling onto your side and taking a few breaths there.
Then slowly making your way back to sitting.
As we finish off our breath work,
Come back.
Let's sit.
Now take your hands and start tapping with your fingers on your chest above your heart.
Tap onto your head.
Tap onto your head.
Tap onto your face.
Tap onto your throat.
And your heart again.
Tap your fingers together.
And your palms.
Until we come to that gesture of gratitude.
Gratitude to ourselves.
For connecting,
For allowing ourselves this moment of connection.
To something deeper,
Something higher,
Something brighter.
Than where we normally find ourselves.
Let's thank each other.
Sharing this sacred space.
Take a breath in and feel how special this space is.
We breathe for ourselves,
We breathe for each other.
We breathe also for people who are not here,
Who have not yet felt this connection.
But who so desperately need it.
And as we are able to connect ourselves.
We will be,
Maybe just a small way,
Giving permission for other people to connect as well.
Let's take one last breath together.
To honour our breath of connection.
Thank you.

This was cathartic. Thank you. I found the breathwork to be just the right amount. I was worried about open mouth breathing for an entire 44 minutes but that portion was not that long and very doable for me. The second portion of connecting with a loved one was quite relaxing. โบ๏ธ

Very deep. I bawled. It was cathartic. I will definitely do this again. I do have a question, I find the mouth breathing extremely uncomfortable, does it get easier with practice? I can only do it for bits of time
