Find a nice sunny spot where you can either sit,

Stand,

Walk or lay down.

Noticing if there is a particular way you need to support yourself.

Allowing yourself the time to get comfortable.

Gently dropping your attention into the body.

Noticing where the body is resting on the ground.

Using the out-breath to soften.

Soften the tensions in the body.

Soften muscles.

Even soften thoughts and emotions.

Noticing the physical sensations of being carried by the ground.

Noticing how the ground carries you.

That you can actually surrender to being carried.

Relaxing into this moment.

Being carried in this moment.

And gently opening your attention towards the sun.

Noticing where the rays from the sun touch the skin.

Sensations in the skin where the summer sun kisses the skin.

The sensations of warmth.

Maybe of cooler skin.

Other places in the body where the sun doesn't reach.

Noticing how the skin receives the sun.

Allowing yourself to open up and receive the rays from the sun.

Not demanding,

Not wanting the sun,

But just receiving it whenever it's there.

Turning towards it.

Noticing the sun on the hair,

The face,

The throat,

The neck,

Arms,

Feet.

How does the sun affect the body in this moment?

Curious,

What does it actually feel like when the sun warms up the body?

Imagining that the rays from the summer sun walks all the way through the body into the cells.

Filling every cell.

Warming the body,

Every cell of the body.

Getting the warm,

Gentle energy from the sun.

Really letting every cell of the body receive that energy,

That warmth.

That light.

Letting every cell open up towards the sun and marinating in the sunshine.

Allowing yourself to lean back,

Be carried and just receive the sunshine.

Curiously noticing what happens in the cells when they receive the sunshine.

What are the sensations in the cells as they get warmed up and lightened up by the sun?

Maybe even curious about what emotions follow.

Imagining the sun,

The light,

The energy entering all the way into the bones,

The bloodstream,

The heart.

Opening the heart,

Receiving the sunlight.

That warm summer sun,

It gently opens the heart.

Noticing how the heart is nourished by the sun,

How the mojo,

How the life force is nourished by the sun.

How the sun at the same time melts,

Softens the body and invigorates it.

Energizes the body.

Again and again returning to the physical sensations of the summer sun touching the skin.

Warming the body.

Softening.

Melting.

What are the sensations of light right now in your eyes,

In your body?

Without forcing anything or wanting it to be in a special way.

Just curious,

How do you sense the light from the sun with your eyes closed?

What are the sensations?

Noticing how the light,

The warmth,

The healing power of the sun,

Melts every cell of the body.

Just letting the body marinate in that light,

That warmth.

Just like the flower.

Knowing that in the most natural way you are as worthy of the light as the flower is.

All you have to do is just be here and receive the sunlight.

Letting the sun fade a little bit into the background.

Tuning into the physical sensations of the body right now.

Thanking the sun for warming you,

Energizing you,

Healing you.

Gently start moving your body,

Opening your eyes.

And knowing that you can carry that sunlight with you and reflect it to wherever you meet during the day today.

And keep opening your own heart to receiving the sunlight.

That's the most natural thing in the world.

Being a sun worshiper, I really loved this meditation. I even did it on a cloudy day and it was nice to imagine the sun healing my body. I hope this works in the winter too. Thank you for this meditation.
