Welcome.
I am pleased that you are joining me for this guided meditation.
Let us begin by taking the time to get into a comfortable position.
One that best suits you.
You can choose to be seated with hands placed gently on your lap,
Sitting cross-legged or feet flat on the floor,
Or lying down with hands resting gently down at your sides.
Assess the body for any areas of tension it may be holding.
Hands or feet,
Jaw,
Neck or shoulders,
Chest or back.
Are any of these areas of the body feeling clenched or tight,
Muscles tensed?
If so,
Allow any and all areas of tightness or tension to simply melt away and be released now.
Recognize the surface beneath you,
Whether it be the floor,
A couch,
A chair or a bed.
And allow your body to feel fully supported on this surface.
Go ahead and close your eyes if they are not already as you begin sinking into a relaxed state of stillness.
Open your awareness to any sounds,
Smells or sensations around you,
Embracing every aspect of this present moment wholeheartedly.
Allow all occurrences from the day thus far to fall away completely exiting your mind.
Be fully present in these precious moments that you have so graciously allowed for yourself.
Start to allow your attention to be directed to the breath,
Feeling the sensation of your lungs expanding with each inhale and releasing with each exhale.
The rise and fall of your chest.
Let's take a long,
Deep breath in,
Followed by a long,
Slow exhale out.
Long,
Deep breath in.
Long,
Slow exhale out.
Allow any thoughts that arise to simply pass through without attaching as small ripples of gentle waves that pass through a calm body of water,
Free of any obstructions.
Long,
Deep breath in.
Long,
Slow exhale out.
As the breath continues to fill the body,
Allow any and all stresses from the day to simply melt away.
Allow yourself to become happy and whole in this present moment.
For the stresses and frustrations of the day are now of the past,
And to dwell on our past robs us of our present.
Together,
Let's use the power of our breath to release any and all thoughts,
Feelings,
And emotions that are no longer serving us.
As we take a long,
Slow,
Deep inhale through the nose,
Filling the lungs with fresh oxygen,
Followed by a long,
Slow exhale out through the mouth,
Releasing the frustrations of the day with the exhale.
Again,
Long,
Slow,
Deep inhale through the nose,
Long,
Slow exhale out through the mouth,
Releasing all those thoughts,
Feelings,
And emotions away.
Once more,
Deep inhale through the nose,
Exhale out through the mouth,
This time releasing any tension that has been stored within the body.
Very nice.
Now that all of those unwanted thoughts,
Feelings,
And emotions that were no longer serving us have been released,
Your energy should feel restored.
Allow yourself to rest quietly for a few moments,
Taking a few more cycles of breath on your own,
Relishing in this sense of lightness and wholeness that is now emanating throughout your entire being.
Filling your heart with gratitude for this time that you have allowed for yourself to unwind and release.
Now bringing your awareness back to the space you are in,
Coming back into your body,
Gently wiggling the fingers and toes.
When ready,
Go ahead and open your eyes.
As mind,
Body,
And soul have now been returned back to a restorative state of alignment,
Unified together in perfect peace,
Harmony,
And flow.
You can now move confidently throughout the rest of your afternoon or evening,
Feeling balanced,
At ease,
And in tune with your highest self.
The light within me honors the light within you.
Namaste.
