This grounding meditation is designed to provide stabilizing support by using the breath to anchor down and establish a root-to-earth connection. It is through the breath and these roots that we can draw up powerful, energetic nutrients, while in turn releasing any unwanted, stagnant energy to be transmuted into light.

Hello and welcome.

Let's go ahead and settle in.

Quieting the mind and relaxing the body,

Allowing the eyes to close.

If being outside in nature is an option for you,

Wonderful.

If not,

That is absolutely okay too.

Either way,

Be sure to have feet firmly planted on the floor or earth beneath you,

Establishing that connection of grounded presence.

Placing your awareness on the breath,

Begin to notice the subtle natural movements that arise in the body as you inhale and exhale.

Observing the rise and fall of your chest,

Observing the belly as it fills with air on the inhale,

Hands relaxes on the exhale.

Notice how the surface beneath you feels.

Fully trusting that this surface is supporting you,

Allow the body to melt into this surface,

Relaxing every muscle.

Breathe into the body,

Visualizing each exhale,

Releasing more and more tension.

Starting at the crown of your head and into the jaw.

Down through the shoulders and arms,

Belly,

Legs and feet.

Finally all the way down to the tips of your toes.

Connect to the environment around you,

Focusing on all sounds and all sensations.

Perhaps the warmth of the sun graciously shining down upon you.

A cool breeze gently caressing your face.

Perhaps you hear birds chirping high above you in the trees or the sound of crickets.

Dogs barking from afar or the exuberant laughter of children as they play in the distance.

Or if in a quiet room by yourself,

Embrace the stillness that surrounds you.

Welcome any sensations or sounds as you allow the inhale and exhale of your breath to keep you mindfully centered,

Grounding and anchoring down into the body.

If your mind wanders that is okay,

Simply observe the thoughts that come and go as leaves gracefully floating down the surface of a stream.

As your feet remain firmly planted beneath you,

Visualize roots that begin to take shape from the base of your feet,

Establishing connection with the earth beneath you.

Allow these roots to grow stronger as they descend further and further below the earth's surface.

Using your breath to ground down and stabilize this connection,

Inhaling in and exhaling out.

Visualize absorbing all the wonderful nutrients this earth has to offer through these roots with the inhale as trees that use their roots to draw up water and nutrients.

Likewise,

Using the exhale to push out and release anything unwanted down through these roots,

Allowing this energy to be transmuted into light by the earth.

Inhaling in,

Exhaling out.

Keeping your eyes closed for a few more moments,

Rest in the grounded calmness and centered stillness that you have created within you.

Opening your eyes,

Express gratitude and thankfulness for this connection that you have established with the earth.

Knowing that this root to earth connection is always present to assist in stabilizing,

Supporting,

And grounding you.

The light within me honors the light within you.

Namaste.
