This meditation acknowledges the natural resistance that arises when we face change. Rather than fighting against tension and discomfort, we learn to meet it with compassion, understanding that our resistance is the body’s attempt to protect us. Through body awareness and gentle acknowledgment, we practice softening our grip while honoring our feelings as valid.

Welcome back to a familiar space,

A space you've been before.

As you settle in,

Once again,

Close your eyes and take a few natural breaths.

Today we acknowledge that change often brings resistance.

Part of you may be pushing against what is happening.

This is natural.

This is human.

Scan your body slowly.

Where are you holding tension?

Is it your jaw?

Maybe it's your shoulders.

Maybe it's your stomach.

Wherever it is,

Try not to fix it in this moment.

Just simply notice it.

This tension is your body's way of protecting you.

Your body sees this as trying to help.

Take a moment and think it,

Even if it feels uncomfortable.

Even if it feels uncomfortable.

Now imagine the resistance as a tight fist.

Visualize it in your mind.

See how much the energy it takes to keep it cleansed.

Imagine that the fist is beginning to soften,

Just slightly.

Not giving up.

Not surrendering who you are.

Just softening.

Releasing the grip by just one degree.

Breathe in.

Acceptance.

Not acceptance of suffering,

But acceptance of reality.

As it is right now.

Repeat silently.

I can acknowledge what is without being consumed by it.

I can feel the resistance and still move forward.

I can acknowledge what is without being consumed by it.

I can feel the resistance and move forward.

Your feelings are valid.

Your uncertainty is valid.

And still,

You are more than this moment of resistance.

Breathe in compassion for yourself.

Breathe out the demand that you should feel differently than you do in this moment.

Breathe in compassion for yourself.

Breathe out the demand that you should feel differently than you do in this moment.

As you prepare to return,

Know that this meeting with yourself for kindness is not a weakness.

It is the foundation of real change.

When you're ready,

Gently begin to flutter your eyelids back open and return to the world.

And so it is.

Namaste.
