Hello everyone.
Hope you're all having a great day.
I just wanted to answer some big questions that I do get a lot and kind of clarify what maybe you or many of you might be wondering.
So when I when people ask me like what do I do?
And I say I'm an Ayurvedic health coach and practitioner.
And the first question people usually ask is what is Ayurveda?
So I am answering that question for you guys.
And Ayurveda is I'm going to try and make this as simple as possible because there's a lot about Ayurveda.
But in the simplest explanation or definition,
Ayurveda is a holistic medical system and philosophy.
It's a healing system that focuses more so on preventative health rather than band-aiding what our issues,
Our health issues might be.
So a little bit different than Western medicine.
It is based out of what is now India,
Although Ayurveda is not necessarily Indian.
So you can practice Ayurveda and never eat one single Indian food or herb.
Ayurveda is more about learning who you are and your individual needs,
Your physical body needs as well as your mental and emotional needs.
And then tailoring your lifestyle and your habits and your diet to what you particularly need as an individual.
So it's a very individualistic system.
So as a coach and practitioner,
I help you uncover who you are in terms of health and in terms of the way that you think,
The way that you kind of go throughout your day or your life.
And help you tailor your lifestyle choices,
Your habits,
Your diet,
Even your exercises and all kinds of stuff.
Even what time you should be waking up.
It can get very nitty-gritty if you wanted to.
So that is what I do.
But going back to Ayurveda,
It's also considered the sister science of yoga.
That's a good way to put it because a lot of people know what yoga is.
And yoga is more of the spiritual practice.
I know a lot of people think it's just like the physical asanas or the postures of doing the physical yoga practice.
But yoga is actually more of a spiritual philosophy than what we know it to be.
So yoga is more of the spiritual side and Ayurveda is more of the physical side in a sense of what you're putting into your body and how to live longer.
So Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word translated from Sanskrit.
Ayurveda means the science of or the knowledge of health.
Some people translate it to mean like the science or the knowledge of longevity.
Both are correct.
But it's a system that has been practiced for over 5000 years.
And while our environment changes,
While our technology is definitely growing and evolving,
Our bodies have not evolved.
We are still the same physical beings that we were 5000 years ago.
Maybe there's a few things that have evolved,
Of course.
But our digestive system is working exactly the same that it did 5000 years ago.
And so that's why this system works so well and has lasted the test of time because it has been proven time and time and time again for over 5000 years to work.
And so why change something that's not broken?
And we as a Western civilization have kind of been disconnected from looking at our bodies as a whole to looking like our Western medical systems very like chopped up.
So we have like oncologists and we have pediatricians,
I guess.
I don't know.
You know what I'm saying?
There's something for everything.
Right.
But as an Ayurvedic practitioner and coach,
You look at the person as a whole because what's being affected.
So say you have arthritis might actually be caused because of something completely different.
And so we need to look at the person as a whole in order to find the root cause and find a solution.
So that is what Ayurveda does.
And that is what I do.
But I mean,
There's so much more.
You can get really deep into the philosophical side of it or really deep into the nutritional side of it.
