Hello and welcome to this year-end reflection meditation.

Over the course of 12 months we can experience so many changes in our life and in who we are.

Reflecting on the past is a powerful way to celebrate the growth that you've made and honor the lessons,

Highs and lows,

The year brought you.

Personal satisfaction and happiness increases when we celebrate our past selves rather than seeing the gaps that don't match our ideal future selves.

To begin this meditation start by settling into your position of choice.

You may feel called to practice in a seat on a chair,

Recliner or meditation cushion or you feel called to lie down on your yoga mat,

The ground or a soft surface like your bed.

Whichever you choose be sure you won't fall asleep as you enter the state of meditation.

As you arrive close your eyes or soften your gaze gently.

Start to scan through your body from head to toe and notice if you are holding tension anywhere.

Allow your next exhale to loosen this tension surrendering your entire body.

Enter a state of ease with the breath.

Inhaling low,

Slow and deep.

Exhale fully and completely.

Cycle through a few rounds of deep breathing to relax the body.

Melting any tension on the exhale as you soothe the stimulation of the body and enter a state of deep contemplation.

Now imagine yourself standing outside of a 12-story building.

This building represents the year you've just had.

What does this building look like?

What unique features are a part of this building?

How does the building's design reflect the year that you've had?

You open the doors and enter the lobby of this building and look around at how the year started for you in January.

You see the person you were in January of this year.

Look back at who this past version of you was in January.

Recall all the events,

Experiences and lessons of January.

Honor the person you were in this month.

Leave behind anything from January that brought you difficulty.

Now collect any positive growth or lessons you want to take with you from January as you enter the elevator and press the button for February.

You're taken to the next floor of this building.

As the elevator doors open you see your life in February of this year.

See the person you were in February.

How did this person move through the world?

What highs and lows did this past version of you experience?

Witness your life unfold in the month of February with as much detail as you can.

Honor the experience you had and let it exist on the floor of this building.

Collect anything from February you wish to keep.

Add it on to the January collection and press the elevator button for March.

As you arrive on the third floor of this building the elevator doors widen to your life in the month of March.

Observe what unfolded from a place of safety and security.

Who were you surrounded by?

How did you live your life each day?

When you're ready collect whatever it is you want to take from March and bring it with you in the elevator.

Then press the button for April.

The elevator rises and opens to April floor of this building with the same detail and reflection as before.

Witness the life you had in April.

Witness the person you were,

The beliefs you had at this point in time,

The people you spent time with,

The growth and the struggles.

Hold space for it all.

Collect what you want to take with you from April.

Leave behind what you don't on the fourth floor.

Step into the elevator and press the button for May.

As you're taken to the fifth floor the doors open to your life in May.

Reflect on your life in this month.

See yourself,

See your experiences.

See any highs and lows and leave behind any lows that you've already healed.

Take the good from May with you into the elevator and press the button for June.

Halfway up the 12-story building the elevator doors reveal your life in June.

Notice the quality of your life at this point of the year.

Allow any ups and downs to reside in the month of June.

See the essence of your being,

The person you were halfway through the year.

Witness any growth or change even at this point.

Let any hardships remain on this floor as you take the abundance and good with you into the elevator and press the button for July.

As you rise to the seventh floor the doors open to your life in the month of July.

Seeing how this month unfolded for you.

Honor the bounty,

Honor the expansion,

Honor the lessons,

Honor what you knew up to this point.

Leave behind what no longer serves you.

Take the precious memories and growth with you into the elevator and press the button for August.

The elevator gently dings and opens to the eighth floor,

Your life in the month of August.

Comb through all the experiences you had in this month.

The people,

The places,

Yourself moving through it all.

Collect what you want to take with you from August,

Leaving behind what you don't on this eighth floor.

Step back into the elevator and press the button for September.

Now on the ninth floor,

Observing your life in the month of September.

The changing of the seasons,

The change you witnessed within yourself.

Have compassion for this version of you in September.

Leave behind the weight of this month on the ninth floor and take any positive light with you into the elevator pressing the button for October.

Lifting up to the tenth floor,

The elevator doors widen to your life in October.

See the floor filled with the life you got to live in October of this year.

Notice any internal changes,

Any external changes.

Witness the person you embodied at this point in time.

Whatever it is you want to take with you moving forward,

Retrieve that from October and step back into the elevator.

Pressing the button for November,

You feel the elevator take you up to the eleventh floor.

Almost at the top,

The doors glide open to your life in November.

Observe yourself living out this month.

See your lived experience unfold.

The person you were at this exact moment in the year.

Take what you want from November,

Leaving behind what you don't want.

Enter the elevator one last time as you press the button for December.

As the elevator doors slowly open to the top floor,

The twelfth floor of the building of your year,

You notice that this floor is a little different.

You see yourself living out this month up until the moment you hit play on this meditation.

You feel the wisdom you've gained from all that you've collected in the previous months.

You embody the growth you've developed since January.

You are stronger from the challenges and lessons from the year.

You look down at this floor and notice it's made of clear glass,

Allowing you to look down with a higher perspective at all the floors beneath you.

All the months that came before this moment.

From this vantage point,

Commemorate what each floor,

Each month has given you.

Gaze with wonder and awe that you had the gift of living out another full year.

Soften into a space of celebration for you and how you've evolved throughout the months.

Look at all that you've collected throughout the months on your elevator ride up the building.

What is one word or statement from this collection that you wish to take with you into the new year?

It can be a lesson,

A new belief,

A renewed sense of purpose,

An emotion,

Or even a tangible thing like a place or person.

Wrap up the gift of this year into a neat bow with this one word or statement.

Bringing yourself back to this moment in your body.

Inhale deeply,

Immerse that word or statement into your body.

And exhale it into your new year.

Another deep inhale this word or statement deep into your cells.

And exhale sharing it with your future self.

Breathe in the lessons of the past.

Breathe out the learnings into the present.

Continue with deep breaths with this one word or statement from the year before you as you reawaken.

Taking it with you into your conscious world.

Begin to gently move your fingers and toes.

Softly blink the eyes open.

As you come back,

I encourage you to journal on your one word or statement.

Or write it down somewhere so you can keep it with you as we head into the new year.

Thank you so much for being here and living out another year.

May we continue to grow,

Expand,

And thrive in this next year.
