The last full moon of 2023 is in the same sign as the first full moon of 2023: in the cardinal waters of Cancer. The moon is at home in this nurturing, sensitive sign of the Mother. On December 26 at 7:32 PM EDT, the skies will bloom with this lunar luminance. This ritual will harness the cosmic energy of the moon to reflect on how we set boundaries, and give care and emotions to others. We'll take time to let go of any expired overly sensitive emotions. You'll release any emotional grudges and defense mechanisms that just aren't working anymore. The sign of the Crab will make you feel at home in the shell of the self; capping the solar year off with a nourishing dose of emotional balance. Journal Prompt: Since the first full moon on Jan 6 2023, what has come full circle emotionally to this full moon at the end of 2023?

Welcome to the last full moon ritual for 2023.

We're closing off the solar year with the grounding,

Mothering,

And nurturing full moon in Cancer.

The moon as a planetary body that feels so close to us,

It feels most at home in the sign of Cancer.

So let's take this time to identify and release our boundaries around nurturing,

Whether that is with others or with ourselves.

Can we become self-aware of how we emotionally give and how does that impact our own emotional health?

Are we setting the right boundaries for our unique levels of sensitivity?

Cancer is the sign of the crab and with the claws,

Cancer likes to set those boundaries very strongly.

They may not have a bunch of them,

But there is one boundary that they set really really well.

And although there is this hard shell on the outside,

There's a soft tender underbelly that lies deep within its sensitivities.

So let's dive deep into these cardinal waters and explore the hardness and softness by clearing your mind,

Coming into your comfortable meditation position.

Take some time to light any candles and set the space for your ritual.

Bring your crystals if you have them to charge them in the moonlight.

Close down the eyes or soften the gaze and allow your body to relax.

Drop the shoulders,

Unfurl the eyebrows,

Relax the tongue from the roof of the mouth.

As you drop deeper into your meditative state,

Begin by bringing your hands to your navel in Dhyani Mudra.

With your palms facing up,

Place the right hand on top of the left and connect the thumbs together.

In this seal of contemplation,

Feel the energy circulate through the triangular shape of your palms.

Now begin to see the full moon resting in the hammock of your hands.

Inhale through the nose,

See the full moon rise to the center of the forehead,

The third eye.

Exhale out the nostrils,

See the moon drift back down to your palms.

Inhale,

The moon ascends up to your third eye.

And exhale,

The moon descending to the nest of your palms.

Continue with this moon moving breath on your own.

The inhale floats the moon up.

The exhale rests the moon back down on your mudra.

Finish up one last cycle of breath.

Once the full moon has come to rest in your palms,

Let go of this breathing pattern and come back to your natural cycle of breath.

You may let go of the hands or the mudra or keep them where they are at.

Now bring your awareness to the part of you that is caring and nurturing.

Do you care too much for the people around you or not enough?

Do you nurture others more than you nurture yourself?

How much weight do you place on yourself to keep everyone happy?

And does this impact your own happiness?

Gather your consciousness and these reflections at your third eye center.

Feel it strengthening your intuition in how you nurture.

You can sense when someone or yourself is in need of care before they realize it themselves.

In this exact moment,

What are you sensing that you need?

Now begin to identify what stories have been culminating around your sensitivities.

What is coming to a close in how you defend your emotions?

Feel these defenses begin to release.

Let it be in the past.

Release any polarizing emotions that have consumed you lately,

Knowing that your sensitivity is your strength.

But it doesn't have to hold you back.

It doesn't have to keep you in the past.

Where can you invite more comfort into your life?

Now begin to envision what your ideal emotional health looks like.

Feel yourself living this life with emotional balance.

See the moon full and bright in your heart.

The moon loves to be in cancer.

This lunar return home welcomes your emotional body to settle and feel at home in the comfort of the self.

Feel yourself be completely at home under this full moon.

You can do what you want.

You can be who you are.

Let that expression come out of the shell of the crab.

Feel the pure white light release any grudges you've been keeping an emotional score of.

Any unwanted sensitivity just floats off your heart and into the dark of the night.

The moon's illuminating light creates a path for your heart to follow towards healthy boundaries and feeling cared for in all the range of emotions you embody.

Share gratitude with the moon for creating this path for you to manifest the emotional boundaries you desire and the intuitive sense to care and nurture yourself and others.

Align your awareness with your breath.

Breathe into your physical borders in the space you take up.

Close your meditation ritual by placing both palms on your heart and bow in gratitude.

Gently flutter the eyes open and journal on the following prompt or on any other insight you received.

Since the first full moon in cancer on January 6,

2023,

What has come full circle emotionally to this full moon in cancer at the end of 2023?

Thank you so much for joining me.

Happy full moon in cancer.
