Let's do a Shabbat meditation.
This is Avraham Shearer and today,
Erev Shabbat,
We have a little bit of time to gather ourselves,
To gather all the different parts of ourselves that are scattered into all the things that we need to do in this world.
The Shabbat become home to ourselves,
We come home to a Shem,
We come home to the breath of life itself.
Let's begin breathing deeply through our nose,
Pausing at the top,
Then exhaling at the bottom,
Pausing again,
Then establishing the rhythm of life,
A healthy rhythm,
An easy pace with no stress.
And let each breath fill your body with life.
And just as the breath fills the body with life,
So too Shabbat fills the universe with life.
How can that be?
How can a day on earth give life to all creation?
Because Shabbat is much more than a day on earth,
One in seven.
Shabbat is when the creation took a pause,
When the Creator stepped back from his canvas,
When the author closes the book for a moment and breathes deeply with us to contemplate our creation,
But how does Shabbat give life to all worlds?
Imagine deep inside,
Deep,
Deep inside,
Deep in the brain,
Deep inside,
Deep inside,
Deep in the brain,
There is a place where thought begins,
Where thought emerges into words,
And those words come together to create ideas,
And those ideas inspire you.
That inspiration is life force.
Desire is life force.
And as we see,
Desire derives from words,
Which derives from letters,
Which derives from deep in the subconscious,
Where thought ends and pure life force begins.
Where thought ends and pure life force begins.
So the true life force,
My friends,
Are your ideas that drive your thoughts,
That drive your feelings,
That set you into action.
Shabbat was God's first thought of creation,
That there will be rest,
There will be an ultimate rest.
But a rest from what?
From the act of creating.
So the Shabbat is the creative force set on hold.
The purpose of creation and creating is to enjoy.
Is to enjoy your creation.
Whether you create a beautiful meal,
A beautiful painting,
Music,
Poem,
A beautiful garden,
A beautiful home.
The purpose of all these works is our enjoyment of them.
So this Shabbat,
Let us,
Let ourselves enjoy.
So many people work hard and never reach the pleasure of their efforts.
They just work and work and work,
Thinking that is the only goal.
The goal is a work.
The goal of doing nothing but enjoying what you've already done.
And that gives life to the man,
To the woman,
To the child.
And so too,
God's rest,
The purpose of creating,
Is the source,
The purpose of all the universe.
To come to internal rest.
To come to the pleasure,
The appreciation of your creative process.
And whatever you create,
However,
Quote,
Good it is,
Is good enough to be a part of it.
And whatever you create,
However,
Quote,
Good it is,
Is good enough this time.
And next time you will even be better.
And you will derive good results.
And you will derive great pleasure from being yourself,
From being your creative self.
So let us let Shabbat into our hearts.
The idea that this week is done and this creation has reached a new peak in its process.
And what will be after Shabbat will be a new creation.
A new week.
A new effort,
A new direction.
But I don't have to go there now.
For all we have is now.
What will be is only a projection of the imagination.
What will be is only a projection of the imagination.
Let us not be fooled by our projections,
Our imaginations.
Let us let Shabbat give us true life,
True desire,
True rest,
True pleasure in being.
Pure,
Simple being.
Being.
Shabbat.
Shalom.
Those two words are names of God.
When you say Shabbat Shalom,
You are calling Shalom into the universe.
