
Creating A Safe Haven

A powerful guided meditation to help you create an inner Safe Haven; a place of rest and safety that you come back to again and again. We all need an inner place of refuge, a place to retreat from both the difficulties of the outside world and the turbulance we can feel inside. We walk you through step by step to finding your inner safe haven, for some people it was a beautiful ancient temple, for others a cosy room in the woods, a grandaparent's house, or even a place in nature. What will yours be? Join us and create a place you can come back to whenever you need to rest, feel safe, or just need a break from your usual world.

Hello,
This is Avanti.
Every week my daughter and I create a meditative healing for our participants on Anchored in Grace.
We always include everybody who is on the course and although not everyone joins us live,
We found that the recording holds the healing energy which is activated every time someone listens to it.
These recordings have been exclusively for the course participants but this one was different.
In the creation of this recording a much wider audience was included.
So as you listen the energetics will be activated and will support you through the process.
We are about to co-create a safe haven within your system,
A place that you can go to whenever you feel like it.
You will be able to bring fragmented aspects of yourself here as well,
Any part of you that needs loving support.
You can come to this place as you go to sleep or any time you feel the need.
Do it in the present not looking to the future and at the end together we will integrate it into your system.
Let's begin.
Get yourself comfy whether that's sitting up,
Lying down,
Legs against the wall.
I just don't want you to fall asleep so if you do know that slightly do sit up but comfortably,
Well supported if you need it.
Now close your eyes and invite in all that loves you.
You might like to stretch your arms out to call it forth.
And breathe the love into you.
And breathe out the day,
The concerns,
The past,
The future.
Take a few breaths,
Breathing in the love that is coming to hold you,
To help you,
To assist.
And breathing out anything that you can let go of in this moment.
Especially the past and the future that you might be in the present.
Let it be just you and all that loves you right here as you listen to these words.
And now with your eyes closed take yourself to a place in nature.
It can be anything that you like whether a forest,
A meadow,
A mountain or the sea or anything else that you can think of.
And when you're there sit on the ground or lie on the ground if you're lying down now.
And allow yourself to get a sense of the glory around you.
Let it be vibrant with vivid colours.
And within this place in nature allow your body to begin to unwind.
Let go of that tension around your jaw and your neck,
Open up your jaw open and allow your neck to move as it wishes to.
Move your shoulders backwards.
You might want to stretch out your arms and move your hands to release whatever is being held in your physical form.
And bring your attention to the space across your chest as you move your shoulders back a little bit back and down just a tad.
Allow yourself to become aware of your heart chakra and allow the space in your lungs to increase.
And let go of your belly.
Allow it to soften and relax as you gently breathe into it allowing it to swell very gently.
And allow your pelvis to open.
You don't necessarily need to move your body for it to do so.
You can do it with your attention or you can physically move if you wish to.
And now bring your attention to your spine.
The spine holds so much stuff.
So allow the tension that your spine is holding from the moment from the day to simply release into the place in nature.
And let go of your legs.
Let your feet relax.
And let yourself begin to recall times in your life when you have felt beautifully safe.
Maybe it was in the womb,
Maybe it was as a child,
Maybe with a grandparent or a favourite relative.
Just begin to acknowledge the feeling that's already there of knowing what the feeling of safety is.
And as you ponder the feeling of safety within this place in nature,
Allow yourself to notice that somewhere in this space,
In this scenario,
Is a portal which somehow you know is for you and only you.
It may look like a gate,
A door,
An archway,
An opening.
Let yourself notice what it looks like or what it feels like.
Is it beautiful?
Is it covered?
Is it obvious?
Or is it hidden?
And everything in you begins to wish to move towards this portal.
So allow yourself to leave something in this place in nature that you can collect on your way back.
It might be a piece of jewellery,
It might be an apple,
It might be a cardigan or a shawl or your shoes.
The place you're going to will have everything you need.
You find yourself gently pulled,
Almost magnetised towards this portal,
This doorway,
This entrance,
As if you know that it's going to lead you to the safest place you've ever been.
You move towards it,
Almost entranced.
And as you get closer,
You see it more clearly,
The door,
The gate,
The opening.
Let yourself notice what it looks like,
What it feels like,
What it's made of.
And curiosity takes you through it.
You move through this entrance.
And as you reach the other side,
You realise that you're in an altered place beyond time and space.
And in front of you,
A bridge forms,
Appears.
Let yourself notice,
Is it solid?
Is it made of wood or metal?
Or is it energetic?
Is it wide or narrow?
Notice how it feels to you.
Allow yourself to move onto the bridge,
Knowing that on the other side of the bridge lies the space where your haven will be created.
As you move across the bridge,
Look down at your feet,
Noticing their pace.
Are you running,
Walking or gliding?
And as you come to the end of the bridge,
You step off the bridge.
And notice what you find around you.
Are you on Earth?
Are you on another planet?
Are you in a familiar space or somewhere entirely unknown?
Take a moment to take in the vista around you.
Notice the ambience of the place.
And take a moment to notice what it looks like,
The colours,
The familiarity,
Are there buildings there?
Is it an open space?
Is it known to you?
Notice if you feel its knownness.
Is there any sense of recognition?
There may be or there may not be.
There's no right or wrong way to do this.
And take a moment to notice the smells.
Maybe it smells like bread baking or flowers.
Or it might be a smell from long,
Long ago.
It might be a smell from another place entirely.
Allow yourself to invoke your sensing and feel the space.
Is it vast?
Is it small?
Is it cosy?
What's the quality of the light like?
And now take a moment to listen.
What do you hear?
Maybe you hear birds or water or people chattering or maybe you hear the sound of silence.
And now it's time to find or create the sacred,
Safe and loving place that will become familiar to you over the coming days and weeks,
Months and years.
Now as we do this,
You might find that things form quite unexpectedly.
You might imagine that you'd like vast space and what creates is a cosy place.
Just go with what comes.
You can make adjustments to it,
But keep in,
Keep in with the flow of what's happening itself.
But since it is just for you,
It will be created to your specifications,
Just might not be the specifications you expected.
It may form in front of you without any effort on your part or you may need to call it into play.
So we're going to create a dwelling.
It could be a palace,
It could be a cave or a temple,
A church or a cabin,
Or it could be something else entirely.
It could be something that's never been seen before.
It could be a place under the ground.
It could be a place up in the sky.
It could be a place under the water.
Let yourself see what you create.
Notice what begins to unfold and help it to unfold.
Let it be ideal for you.
Let it be a vibrational match that is like your vibration but without fear.
Complete peace,
Safety.
Let it match and elevate your unique vibrational quality.
And as this space is created,
There are a few things that you'll need.
You'll need a bed,
A bed to rest on.
So let a bed come into play,
To come into being.
Let it be comfortable for you without having to use your mind to orchestrate it too much.
Let it appear.
If it doesn't appear,
Invite it to appear,
Just as you want it to be in that case.
Another thing that will be needed is somewhere that you can bathe.
It could be a stream.
It could be a bath.
It could be a shower,
A fountain,
A jacuzzi.
It could be the sea.
This doesn't have to take on any logic.
But when you come to this place,
When you come to visit,
You may want to bathe so that the purification of the water can clear whatever you're holding in fear,
Almost as if the water would baptize you.
So go ahead and allow a place of water to be available to you.
Another thing that you will need is a way to keep warm.
That might be sunshine,
Or that might be a fireplace.
Notice what you create to warm yourself.
It could be central heating,
Or it could be a form of heating that's not even invented yet.
But you may wish for there to be some means to eat and drink in case you wish to.
It could be fruit from the trees,
Or it could be a kitchen.
Notice what arises for you.
And let all that is being created,
Or that you are creating,
Feel tangible to you.
Let yourself feel the quality of the materials.
Feel what things are made of.
Become aware of where they are in the dwelling.
We may think of it as imagination,
But imagination comes from somewhere.
It has a vibrational quality.
And this is what we are evoking here.
And now allow yourself to go around the dwelling and put in place anything else that you might want.
Maybe you want a table,
Or somewhere to sit,
Windows,
Doors.
Take your time to make them just as suits you.
And if something arises,
Surprisingly,
That you weren't expecting,
Just allow it to be there for now.
You're going to be with this place forever,
For as long as you wish to.
Things can change.
Trust your system's intelligence.
And now,
The most important thing of all.
A loving presence to live in this dwelling.
To take care of it when you're not there.
Someone to take care of you whenever you go there.
Someone to hold the space so that you don't have to hold it for yourself.
It needs to be somebody who's kind and wise and only loving.
It may be someone you know,
Someone you'd like to know.
It may be an archangel.
It may be Christ.
It may be Amma.
Maybe the Buddha.
Maybe a father figure or a maternal figure.
Somebody wise.
Somebody there who loves you.
It may be someone you're familiar with or not.
Allow them to join you in the space.
Let yourself welcome them and then welcome you.
Someone who'll be there when you need to be held.
Someone to listen when you need to be heard.
To advise when you need advice.
And notice who they are.
Maybe they're a being from another place.
Maybe they're a grandparent.
Maybe it's the loving parent that you always wished you'd had.
And should you need more than one being,
You may allow others into this space in this moment to contain whatever feels solid,
Safe and beautiful to you.
Or you may be perfectly happy with the being that you have there with you.
Because we've been creating this exercise,
These beings have been waiting all day to come and play their part.
They want to be with you.
It's their pleasure to help you.
On some level they will already know you,
Whether you know them or not.
So take some time now with this loving presence.
You may like to let them bathe away your fears.
You may like to just sit and have a cup of tea with them.
You may want to embrace them or meet them in the stillness.
Let them show you how it feels to feel truly safe.
Whenever someone asks whether you will come to Courage,
They'll say yes.
And if you lie Let yourself breathe in the love.
They can only love you.
They'll never chastise you or judge you.
And allow everything in you to deeply,
Deeply let go and relax into the feeling of feeling totally safe.
Allow any fear that is held in your body to simply drain out and melt away.
Let yourself be held.
Let yourself be held.
And let yourself be entirely at home within the presence of this being that loves you,
In this space that is there to bring you the essence of safety.
This is your space and they are there for you.
They can only love you.
They won't judge you.
They won't scold you.
They'll only love you.
Notice how you feel in this space.
Over time it will become a known and familiar feeling to you.
But it's always nice to notice our first meeting.
You may find that you feel free to release the armouring,
The shield that guards your heart,
The armouring in your physical body.
Allow that which has been locked within you to let go.
Allow that which has been locked within you to unlock,
Which has been held tightly to relax.
And now together with your loving presence,
Allow yourself to once more move around the space and make any adjustments that you feel to make.
Maybe you want to put pictures on the walls or have flowers or plants.
You might want to change the colours or notice the colours and adjust them to suit you.
Are there windows?
And if so,
Have a look out of them.
And what's the view?
You don't have to make it fit any logic.
It can be as it wants to be in alignment with what suits you.
Maybe there's a view of the ocean or a forest or maybe it's a view of the Earth because you're on another planet.
Maybe it's something else entirely.
Allow yourself a moment to enjoy the vista,
To become familiar with it.
And now that you have created the space and moved around the space,
Allow yourself to try out the bed and rest a while.
Feel how it feels to be totally safe.
Notice how it feels to be in a space where there is only love,
Nothing to push against,
Nothing to resist.
And now that you have created the space,
Allow yourself a moment to enjoy the view.
And now that you have created the space,
Allow yourself a moment to enjoy the view.
And allow this place to imprint upon you.
Let it become known.
Bring its essence,
Its flavour,
Its form,
What it looks like,
What it feels like,
What it sounds like,
What it smells like.
Allow that to permeate you.
Let it come into you.
Maybe it comes into your heart or your belly,
But let it in.

And when you are ready,
Knowing that this place will be there for you whenever and as often as you wish to visit,
Allow yourself to prepare to leave.
Sit up on the bed,
Put your feet on the floor.
You might like to walk around the space,
Taking a final look for this first visit.
You might like to touch what's there.
Really let yourself feel it.
What's it made of?
Is it wood?
Is it marble?
Is it some material that we've never heard of yet?
Begin to notice the way out.
Again,
It may be a door,
It may be an archway.
Notice the exit point.
It's a very gentle leaving.
Your job today was simply to create it,
To bring it into your awareness.
You're not being kicked out,
You'll never be kicked out.
And allow yourself to move towards the exit.
And to go through it.
Knowing that you will return again and again.
And as you move through,
Move through the exit,
Notice that the bridge forms again,
Ready to bring you back into your normal reality.
As you cross the bridge,
Once more,
Noticing how it feels.
Let yourself come to recognise this bridge.
This is how it feels coming back.
Does it feel the same as it did on the way over?
Or different?
And do you feel the same?
Or do you feel more rested,
More relaxed?
And as you come to the end of the bridge,
Notice that you see the same portal that you came through on your way there.
And you gently move towards it.
And you find yourself moving through the portal back into the place in nature that you were in before you went through.
And then sit down once more in the place in nature,
The same place you were before,
And collect the item that you left there.
And begin to feel the physicality of your life.
Notice where within you the feeling of this place that we've just been lives.
And even though you're not in it anymore,
Allow yourself to still feel the essence of it within you.
And notice that you can feel it,
Even though you're not in it.
Allow it to become part of you.
Notice the sweetness of your breath.
And very slowly and gently,
Begin to become aware of what you're sitting or lying on.
Become aware that you have a body.
And allow these three worlds to become one.
There's your physical world,
There's the place in nature,
And there's the place of safety.
Allow your breath to deepen very gently,
Like a flowing river that ebbs in and out.
And as you begin to notice the sounds around you.
Feel the air on your face.
And as you gently begin to open your eyes and come back into the room,
Allow yourself to continue to feel this place.
The place of safety.
The place where you are only loved,
Nothing but loved.
Allow it to become something that you can access with your eyes open or closed.
Invoke its presence in this reality.
Allow yourself to sit in the field of it.
Allow it to support you,
To dwell within you and on the outside of you too.
This would be such a beautiful space to sleep in.
And to be aware of when going about your daily life.
A softer place,
A place that holds you.
A place that only loves you.
And with your eyes open,
Allow it to take its form within you and around you.
Recall the textures,
The smells,
The light,
The qualities that you found there.
Breathe them in,
That they may become part of your everyday reality.
Notice if there's a particular place in your body where you feel it.
And if there is,
Put your hands on that place.
And love it,
Appreciate it,
Enjoy it,
Welcome it.
Allow it to live within you and you to live within it.
And allow your body to move as it wishes to.
You may wish to stretch.
You may wish to hug yourself.
You may wish to make yourself open and big or small and curled up.
Let's just keep the alignment with this place,
With your eyes open.
Allowing the extraordinary to be also ordinary.
And with that,
My beauty,
It lives within you now.
For you to call on at any point,
Day or night.
Allow yourself to get used to it over the coming days.
We strongly advise that you engage with it.
That you might remember the way there.
Well done.

Rest for a few minutes longer if you feel to.

Just beautiful, Thankyou. I was delighted to find myself in a mud brick yurt in a forest that I visited just a few weeks ago. When I arrived there ( the first time) I was overcome with a feeling of home. I could do nothing but sit and gape and rest for hours. Now I feel like I know why. Thankyou ✨✨✨
