Making way for a sunny day,

Grand rising friends,

The following meditation was designed to support you in planting seeds of kindness,

Compassion,

And gratitude to carry with you throughout your day.

So we begin by getting into a relaxed yet alert posture,

Seeing if you can bring a sense of inner ease.

Gently resting the hands either beside you or in your lap.

And gently closing the eyes.

We begin with a little inspiration from one of my favorite spiritual teachers and authors,

Don Miguel Ruiz.

So we start by bringing our attention to the lungs,

Almost as if they're the only thing that exists.

Just breathing in and out of this space.

As you lengthen your inhale,

Just noticing the feelings of pleasure and delight as your lungs expand to fulfill the biggest need of our bodies,

Which is to breathe.

And as you slowly exhale,

Notice the sensations of letting go as the breath gently leaves the body.

And again,

Taking another deep breath in through the nose,

Filling up the lungs.

And a slow,

Gentle exhale,

Letting go of any stagnant energy from the night before.

And a deep inhale again in through the nose,

Noticing how good it feels to breathe in through the lungs.

As Don Miguel Ruiz says,

When we fulfill any need of the human body,

It gives us pleasure.

To breathe gives us pleasure.

Just noticing any feelings of gratitude that arise by reflecting on this very simple practice that is always available to us 24 hours a day,

Seven days a week.

And as you rest in this joyous presence,

Bring your awareness to the heart space.

With a deep inhale and an audible exhale,

See if you can drop your mind and your chest down into your heart,

Like they're on a sliding board,

Sliding down into your heart space.

So you begin with a deep inhale.

Sliding the chest down into the heart.

Feels so good.

Let's try that one more time.

Long,

Slow,

Deep inhale.

Dropping down into the heart.

Begin taking a moment now to breathe in and out of the heart space and reflecting on your deepest intention for this day,

This week,

Or even on your wellness journey.

What does your heart really want?

What does it truly long for?

Once you have your intention,

Really feel into it.

Imagine wrapping it up in your mind's eye and dropping it down into your heart,

Breathing in and out as if merging your intention with your heart.

Breathing in your intention,

Breathing out your intention.

Breathing in your intention,

Breathing out your intention.

Just following the gentle rhythm of your heartbeat.

After a few breaths,

See if you can release your intention out into the stratosphere and perhaps send it off with a smile from deep within your heart.

Coming back to the breath.

I'm going to take a few moments now to reflect on anything you're grateful for today.

Perhaps it's the gift of life itself,

The breath,

The heartbeat,

Fresh air,

The sunny skies,

Maybe it's all of the people who have cared for you and supported you up until this point or perhaps even your own loving self-care.

Your comfy bed and warm home,

Healthy and nourishing food.

Just continue to call to mind all of the things for which you are truly grateful,

Really feeling into the joy and wonder and appreciation as you gently breathe in and out.

Perhaps you silently inwardly wish each person or situation a genuine thank you.

Thank you for your love and support.

Thank you,

Mother Earth,

For being our wonderful home.

Thank you to the breath,

To our hearts,

Our arms and our legs and our feet and our body who is always working for us 24 hours a day,

Seven days a week.

Our deepest thank you.

Take a few more deep breaths here and just really allow this feeling of gratitude to expand in your body.

It's like rays of sunshine extending in all directions.

When you're ready,

Slowly bring movement back into the body,

Wiggling the fingers and the toes,

Gently opening your eyes.

I wish you a beautiful and blessed day.
