Welcome.

Thanks for joining me.

I would like to begin by acknowledging and paying my respects to the traditional custodians of the land on which I'm sitting.

The Kamaaraygal people of the Eora nation and in the spirit of reconciliation pay my respects to the First Nations cultures and to the leaders past,

Present and emerging and their connections to land,

Sea and community.

This guided meditation for the Sakhal Chakra will be accompanied by a sound journey.

Integral sound healing is very effective at triggering the relaxation response which counters the many symptoms of chronic stress including heart,

Endocrine and digestive disorders.

Sound healing instruments can be applied both on the body and off the body using a variety of instruments and voice.

Sound healing instruments generate sound waves which create a resonance effect across the wide spectrum of the body.

Sound vibrations are conducted through the connective tissue,

Blood,

Lymph and spinal fluids,

Cartilage,

Muscle tissue,

Bone and the cells with significant therapeutic consequences.

This makes integral sound healing so unique and effective.

Sound healing is one of the emerging healing modalities that is gaining in popularity.

It's non-invasive,

It's gentle but very powerful.

Healing frequencies during a sound healing journey can also help to balance and harmonise the chakras.

Sitting a positive healing intention for this healing experience allows the intention to be amplified by the sounds that you experience.

Take a moment now to connect to your heart.

You may like to place a hand or both hands over your heart.

Remember a time when you received or gave unconditional love.

Connect to your heart and to a gentle,

Tender and loving feeling where there is no judgement or criticism so that you can enjoy this sound bath with a compassionate,

Accepting attitude towards yourself.

Feel the gentleness,

Feel the tenderness and if you can,

Feel the love in your heart and allow it to spread throughout your body.

Allow these feelings to support you as you embark on this journey with me.

Now say your intention to yourself three times and when I strike the tuning forks three times,

It will activate your intention for healing.

This sound healing journey and guided meditation will focus on the sacral chakra.

The sacral chakra is the second of the seven chakras.

It is located just below the navel,

Right in the centre of your lower belly and in your back it is located in the lumbar spine and associated with the colour orange and the element of water.

Some of its corresponding body areas and organs are the reproductive organs,

The lower back and the abdominal area.

The Sanskrit name for the sacral chakra is sva-vistana which means the dwelling place of the self and some also say it has another meaning of taking pleasure in.

The sacral chakra is considered to be the centre of emotion and creativity.

This energy centre affects our ability to enjoy life in physical ways and governs our general wellbeing.

Associated with reproductive functions and creativity of the human being,

It connects us to others through feelings,

Desire,

Sensations and movement.

The function of the sacral chakra depends on how well we take care of ourselves.

It is associated with water and we all know that water is energetically linked with the emotions.

Our body is mostly comprised of water so keeping it hydrated as well as nourished and rested maintains a balanced sacral chakra,

Helping us to effortlessly go with the flow,

Making our creative juices flowing and allowing to experience joy,

Harmony and positive relationships.

A healthy sacral chakra allows us to be spontaneous and playful,

Feel strong emotions without being overpowered by them.

It results in flexibility,

Depth of feeling,

Sexual fulfilment and the ability to accept change.

Wellbeing,

Pleasure,

Intimacy,

Sensuality,

Abundance in all forms of all these qualities that are present when the sacral chakra is balanced.

Add to it creativity,

Sociability,

Patience,

Joie de vivre and you will understand how important the sacral chakra is in our lives.

An unbalanced sacral chakra on the other hand results in under or hyper sexuality.

It creates intimacy issues,

Frequent feelings of guilt,

Envy,

Frustration and anxiety.

We suffer from low self value,

Broken relationships with partners and friends and rarely feel joy.

Cravings,

Addictions and self destructive behaviour in general are all challenges associated with unhealthy sacral chakra.

How do you heal your sacral chakra?

Dance like no one is watching,

Make love during sunrise and get creative.

Keep a journal to help you go,

Let go of any negative emotions and know that only you can create the life and loving relationships that you want.

Before we begin let's consider what we'll need for a comfortable experience.

Are you in a nice place where you can sit or lie down free from any distractions?

Have you turned off all notifications on your devices so that you won't be disturbed for the next little while?

Have you chosen a comfortable posture,

Sitting in your favourite chair or on a cushion from the floor or lying down on a yoga mat or on your bed so that you have a good experience while meditating?

Make sure your spine is straight by placing a cushion behind your back or under you.

Pop a blanket or a shawl over you if you need it.

Tuck your chin in slightly,

Most importantly,

Smile.

Take a moment now to make yourself comfortable.

Adjust your posture so that your back is supported and your spine is straight and your feet flat on the floor or falling to the side.

Allow your hands to rest gently on your lap or beside your body.

This is your time,

A time to nurture yourself.

Take a long deep breath in and as you breathe out let your shoulders drop away from your shoulders.

Take another long breath in through your nose and as you breathe out say om.

Breathe in.

Om.

Now let's do that two more times.

Om.

Before you close your eyes take a moment to look around the room or the environment that you are sitting or lying in.

Notice the space and how the furniture is arranged.

Notice the colours and the textures.

Notice where the windows and the doors are positioned.

Notice how the light and the shade play upon the surfaces.

Notice how close or far away things are to where you are sitting or lying down.

Take a moment to soak in all things in your sacred space.

Now just like a shade being pulled down,

Slowly close your eyes or gaze down in front of you.

Let go of any thoughts about how your day has been so far and it's okay if any thoughts do come up during the guided meditation.

The mind likes to wander.

If you notice that your thoughts are beginning to take over,

Gently remind yourself to come back to my voice.

Bring your attention to the sounds around you.

Any sounds in the room and sounds coming from outside.

Choose a pleasant sound and follow it for a moment.

Now bring your attention to where you are sitting.

Notice how posy you feel in this spot.

Notice how lovely your clothes or the blanket feels against your skin.

Notice your body against the surface you are sitting on.

Feel the surrender of its weight as it presses into the chair,

Mat or bed beneath you.

Now bring your attention to any pleasant smells or fragrances around you.

Notice how these smells and fragrances waft over your whole body.

Now bring your attention to your mouth.

Notice any pleasant tastes in your mouth from something you've just drunk or eaten.

Take a big breath in and sense how pleasant your whole body feels and soften and sink deeper into relaxation.

Starting at the top of your head,

Begin to scan your body,

Noticing any tension or tightness there.

Release any tension that you may be holding onto as you scan down through all of your body.

When you notice any places that may need some attention,

Allow your breath to soften those areas and any tightness to float away.

Take another long breath in and as you breathe out,

Feel your body sinking deeper into the surface beneath it.

Let go of any need to control your breathing and simply allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm.

And using your breath,

Allow the breath to soften your body.

Become aware of how you are feeling today.

Just observe any feelings and any sensations.

Some parts of your body might be asking for your attention.

Allow yourself to bring a gentle loving kindness to those areas.

Bring it into these areas and allow your breath to soften and soothe these areas.

Bring a gentleness and a kindness to these areas.

And acknowledge this area with self-love.

Bring your attention to the sacral chakra located just below your navel.

Imagine a ball or sphere glowing orange in colour and giving out energy.

Feel the energy of your sacral chakra.

Chanting the seed mantra for the sacral chakra will activate the sacral chakra for healing.

The seed mantra for the sacral chakra is vam.

Hold your attention on the sacral chakra and the ball or sphere that is filled with orange energy.

As we chant vam,

You may feel sensations or vibrations.

You can chant along or just listen.

Vam Vam Vam Vam Vam Vam Vam Vam Vam Vam Bring your awareness to your breath and become aware of the rise and fall of your breath in your belly.

You might like to place a hand on your belly to feel it fill with the in-breath and feel how it softens and falls with the out-breath.

Allow yourself to enjoy this pleasant feeling of watching the breath rise and fall.

Give yourself permission to slow down.

Feel how lovely it is as the breath massages the muscles of your belly.

Allow this pleasant feeling to flow into your pelvis.

Breathe into your pelvis.

Breathe into the back of your pelvis and into your hips.

Allow the pleasant feeling of the breath to soften and release any tension and tightness being held in the hips.

Breathe into your hamstrings and into your thigh muscles.

Breathe into your knees,

Your kneecaps and under your kneecaps.

Breathe into your shins and your calf muscles.

Breathe into your ankle bones,

Into the arches of your feet,

Into the soles of your feet,

Into the tops of your feet.

Breathe in and soften your big toe.

Your second toes,

Your third toes,

Your fourth toes and your little toes.

Breathe into your feet and notice the pleasant feeling that is there.

Allow the pleasant feeling to flow back up from your feet into your knees,

Into your upper legs and back into your hips and belly.

Allow the pleasant feeling of the breath to flow into your lower back and into your mid-back and into your upper back.

Feel your whole back soften and notice how pleasant that feels.

Breathe into your torso and the organs protected by your torso.

Breathe into your heart and lungs.

Breathe into your chest and into your rib cage.

Breathe into your collarbone and shoulders and feel your collarbone drop away from your shoulders and how pleasant it feels when the tension releases.

Breathe into your upper arms and into your elbows,

Into your forearms.

Breathe into your wrists and into your hands.

Breathe into the soft part of your hands.

Take a moment now to really feel into this pleasant sensation in the soft part of your hands.

Breathe into your thumbs,

Your index fingers,

Your middle fingers,

Your ring fingers and your little fingers.

Breathe into the whole of your hands and allow the feeling,

The pleasant feeling,

To flow from your hands up your forearms,

Past your elbow,

Into your upper arms and feel that pleasant feeling of your whole arms.

Breathe into your neck muscles.

Breathe into the back of your head and into the base of your head where the neck muscles join.

Breathe into that area and feel it soften.

Notice how pleasant it feels.

Notice the tension has softened away.

Breathe into your throat and your throat muscles.

Breathe into your temples,

Feel your temples soften and any tension release.

Breathe into your jaw and feel your jaw soften and any tension release.

Bring your awareness to your forehead.

Breathe into your forehead.

Feel your forehead soften.

Breathe into your eyes,

To the area behind your eyes and feel your eyes soften.

Notice how pleasant that feels.

Now bring your attention to the top of your head.

Notice what that feels like,

Bringing your awareness to the very top of your head.

You may feel something or you may feel nothing at all,

Which is perfectly alright.

Notice how you're feeling.

Bring your attention back to your body,

Sitting or lying here.

Get a sense that you are safe and connected to the earth.

Visualise yourself as a seed in the ground.

See yourself being watered by the rain and enlivened by the sun's warmth.

Visualise yourself beginning to grow as a shoot rising out of the earth.

You become a stalk and grow leaves.

Eventually you grow taller and sprout flowers and perhaps fruit.

Feel the abundance and see others enjoying your fruit.

For the next little while,

Rest in this feeling of abundance and you may like to recall your positive healing intention while you are resting here.

So so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so Very,

Very gently deepen your breathing and when you are ready,

Bring your awareness back to where you are sitting or lying down.

Feel the connection of your body and how it's pressing into the floor of the earth beneath you.

Become aware of your body lying on the floor or your bottom eye tissues.

Take a moment now to see yourself sitting or lying in this room and start to notice the sounds around you.

Maybe you've seen sounds coming from inside or outside the room.

Begin to awaken your body and become aware of your head,

Face,

Back,

Back,

Shoulders,

Arms,

Legs and belly.

Breathe into your belly and notice the rise and fall with your breathing.

Breathe in a sense that your whole body is sitting or lying down and begin to connect to the floor beneath you.

Allow your head to roll from side to side if you are lying down and just make circular movements if you are sitting.

You might like to roll your shoulders up and back.

Wiggle your fingers and your toes and when you're ready open your eyes.

Take a few moments for your focus to sharpen.

Notice how your feelings if you're lying down roll over onto your side and take your time getting up.

Chanting the Green Tara Mantra can evoke compassionate feelings for yourself and for others.

The Green Tara embodies the healing energy of release.

The words are Om Tara Tu Tare Tu Re Svaha You may wish to chant with me or just listen.

Om Tara Tu Tare Tu Re Svaha Om Tara Tu Tare Tu Re Svaha Om Tara Tu Tare Tu Re Svaha Om Tare Tu Tare Tu Re Svaha Om Tare Tuttare Ture Svaha Om Tare Tuttare Ture Svaha Om Tare Tuttare Ture Svaha Om Tare Tuttare Ture Svaha Om Tare Tuttare Ture Svaha Om Tare Tuttare Ture Svaha Om Tare Tuttare Ture Svaha Take some time to do some self-reflective journaling.

If self-reflective journaling is new to you,

You may choose to use the SAKEL chart for journaling questions posted earlier.

I would also like to recommend doing some chanting,

Humming or singing for about 5 to 10 minutes a day,

Or playing a Tibetan bowl if you have one.

Listening to healing music is also beneficial.

Dance like nobody's watching.

Put on some ballet dancing music or any music that you choose and just dance.

It's so good for the SAKEL chakra.

And of course,

Feel free to watch this session again whenever you feel like it.

Thank you for joining me on this sound healing journey and guided meditation for the SAKEL chakra.

I hope you enjoyed it.

To end this session,

Let's all chant Om three times.

Om Om
