All right,

So let's do a meditation together now,

A new meditation but continuing with the theme of loving-kindness which is the focus of all our meditations at the moment.

In this meditation we're going to focus more on or look at,

Start to look at how we can put our positive energy and our own loving-kindness and the energy of that into a greater pool of energy with the view to seeing how we can offer support energetically to those who might be struggling to find their way into a positive state.

You know at various times various of us might find ourselves challenged or even unwell and so the purpose of one of the purposes of organizing these meditation sessions is so that we can support each other as well as support ourselves.

So in this meditation I'm going to give some guidance in how we can share our loving-kindness with others.

All right,

So let's do our meditation.

All right,

So settle into your posture as normal.

Whatever meditation you're going to do you should always go through the process of settling yourself into your most calm,

Relaxed and settled state that you possibly can.

So as always we bring our attention into the body and relax into the body where the body is already relaxed.

We settle down into the posture and tune in to that feeling of being relaxed within ourselves knowing that we aren't necessarily yet relaxed right through.

So any tension or charge that you're holding in your nerves take a long in-breath and a long relaxing sigh out and release that charge.

Now let's do it again and this time as you breathe out follow your out-breath down into a very relaxed and settled place within yourself.

Breathe in and breathe out.

Relax into stillness.

Feel that still place within you that's resting in the background.

We want to learn to recognize that even when we get ourselves disturbed there is a place within us that is still and settled and undisturbed and that we just forgot that for a moment.

So our meditation is effectively coming back to that place of inner stillness.

Let your muscles relax around your bones.

The more often you do this meditation the more you're going to start to connect to a feeling of gratitude for that feeling of inner stillness or that space within you that becomes a refuge.

When you feel yourself challenged in the daily life or starting to feel tired or exhausted coming back to that inner space of stillness feels a great relief.

So feel the relief of knowing that for a moment you can take a rest within yourself.

Starting to recognize that place within you where everything is undisturbed.

Even though storms can be raging outside it's like coming to a safe place within us where that storm doesn't blow.

Let your heart relax into that inner space of stillness.

Feel grateful for it.

Feel peaceful there and quiet.

Rest for a few moments and settle as deeply as you can into that space of peace.

Quiet place within you.

Your inner stillness.

When we practice regularly we build up an inner light within that space.

When we practice regularly that light reveals itself to us more quickly.

Over time even when we are challenged,

Stressed,

Tired,

Exhausted,

Worried or feeling unwell that inner light stays bright within us.

This is the real purpose of these meditations.

To build an inner light in that quiet still place within us.

So rest in it.

Relax your heart in it,

Into it.

Relax your heart in it,

Into it.

Feel happy to know that you have this place of rest within you.

May I be happy and peaceful and free from suffering.

May I be free and peaceful and free from suffering.

One of the things we come to learn through regular meditation practice is that there has always been a place inside us that has never been disturbed.

And that when we are disturbed it's because we forget it.

But it's not the case that it's gone or lost.

We just forget it.

And when we think about people who are struggling,

Who are suffering,

Who are stressed and anxious,

We recognize it's because they've forgotten.

They're quiet in a space.

When we forget it for too long we can feel really quite stressed or despondent.

The relief of returning to it we forget.

But all of us are connected through this quiet inner space and the light that shines there.

The light that we find in our own heart is the same light that shines in the heart of everyone.

And that all of our struggle and all of our suffering and our suffering is in the light of that all of our struggle and all of our suffering and all of our worry and all of our stress and all our anxiety is nothing but a reflection of the fact that each of us individually in that moment have forgotten that quiet inner space and the light that shines there.

So through that light that shines in your heart let your feeling of loving kindness arise within you.

Feel the love that you feel for yourself,

How much you cherish your life.

Say thank you for it.

May I be happy and peaceful and free from suffering.

And think of your loved ones.

When you want to send love to someone who is dear to you,

Who is not with you right now.

In that quiet place in your own heart where that light shines in that place we are already connected.

Because the light in our heart and the light in their heart is the same light.

So when you want to send love to someone who is dear to you,

You simply see them in your heart,

Bring them to mind,

You do not need to send your mind out to wherever they may be because in your heart you are already with them.

So hold them in your heart and even if they are struggling now or tired now,

Or unwell now,

When you want to send loving kindness to someone you see them happy,

You see them bright and full of light.

And holding them in your heart like that you send them your love.

Sukhino,

Akemino,

Hontu,

Sabbe,

You send them your love.

You send them your love.

Sukhino,

Akemino,

Hontu,

Sabbe,

Sadabawantu,

Sukhitaata.

May all beings be happy and peaceful and free from suffering.

May all beings be happy.

And when you are sending loving kindness to someone else,

You do not concentrate upon their worries and concerns or their stress or their illness.

You concentrate on their inner light,

That quiet place in their heart.

By sending your love to them,

You help that light in their heart shine a little brighter.

So you hold an entirely positive attitude without worrying in any way for their concerns or their challenges and hold them in the light of your heart,

In the light of their heart.

Sukhino,

Akemino,

Hontu,

Sabbe,

Sadabawantu,

Sukhitaata.

Feel how much love you have for these people.

Let that love blaze through you and light up your whole body.

And light them up too.

May all beings be happy.

May all beings be happy.

Know that even in a time of separation,

There is a way to deeply connect to all those who we love.

Through that quiet inner space and the light that shines in our heart.

May all beings be happy and peaceful.

May all beings be happy and peaceful.

May all beings be happy.

Now always when you finish sending loving kindness to someone else,

You should always bring your attention back to your own body just in case you have made yourself tired by pushing a little too hard with your loving kindness.

Bring your attention back into your body and relax deeply down into your body again and let your loving kindness spread through your whole body and nourish you and refresh you and relax you and calm you.

Let the light in your heart spread through your whole body.

Don't push it,

Just rest in it,

Relax in it for a few moments.

Sukhihino Akemino Untu.

Sabhesatta Bawantusukhi Tata.

May I be happy and peaceful.

May all beings be happy and peaceful.

And of course you can rest in that feeling of loving kindness for as long as you wish.

You can even let yourself relax down into sleep or until you feel it's time to end your meditation.

Sukhihino Akemino Untu.

Sabhesatta Bawantusukhi Tata.

May all beings be happy and peaceful.
