Hi,
Hello,
Welcome to this meditation.
Today we will focus upon the five elements.
The meaning and the focus on this meditation is the connection with the macrocosmos within the microcosmos and vice versa.
The universe is made of these five elements and as also we are made of those five elements.
So the focus of this meditation is a connection with the universe around us.
To feel integrated within the environment we are situated and also to bring a forgiveness into the space where you are.
So the five elements is akash space,
Vayu e,
Agni fire,
Jala water,
Prithi earth.
We will walk through this meditation going from element to element.
We will start from the grossest level to a more subtle level.
So we will start from earth and so on up to space.
And I hope at this time you are already finding yourself in a seated position,
Lay down position,
In a kneeling position,
In a position that is comfortable to your body structure,
To the moment and the mood you feel right now.
Bring yourself with the shoulders relaxed,
The chin towards the throat,
With the forehead,
The mouth,
The jaw relaxed,
The tongue flapped to the side of the mouth,
With the hands perhaps pointed to the knees,
Your heart cut one on top of the other by your legs.
And focusing on the breath in and out,
Allowing the breath to be long and smooth,
The mind perhaps quietening.
So the cycle of life and the cycle of creation,
It starts from a unified cell which differentiates into other cells for different purposes and different responsibilities.
And then from that differentiation is a specific purpose for that cells.
And then it becomes again into a more specific.
And what happens with the human body is we start with a unifying cell which multiplies,
So we become differentiated into many cells.
Those cells will become different parts of our body.
And then we time from birth more and more,
We start to forget that place of oneness where the origin of that first initial cell.
And we start to get specializations,
Professions,
Friends,
Hobbies.
And this came to the realization that we come from oneness to differentiate,
To be specific and specialize in one specific thing.
So we become from a one to multiplying to one again.
But the one that we come back again is one to a specific matter,
Is not the one of the wholeness.
And hence the meditation through the elements is to bring that unifying sense of wholeness of this universal conscious awareness.
So we will start as we mentioned before with the earth.
By starting feeling the weight of your body into the ground beneath you.
By synchronizing the breath slow and smooth.
Recognizing the parts of the body touching the floor.
Perhaps recognizing the sensations that those parts are receiving right now.
Without judgment,
Without stories,
Just seeing it as it is.
So we will see and feel the weight of the feet touching the ground,
The weight of the body above.
The gravity of the pool that is us going towards the earth.
With this groundness then we can also start to imagine and feel the fields of earth with plants around nourished by that same soil.
We are walking throughout that field,
Feeling the earth in our feet between the toes.
The way the feet are sinking down into the earth with warmth.
And with the elements.
Throughout this walk we face ourselves with a beautiful lake.
On this lake is clear crystalline water.
Calm and stillness in that water.
Moving towards that lake we bow down into our knees.
Placing the hands in that fresh water,
Observing it running out of our hands back into the lake.
Getting to the sound of the droplets of the water dropped.
Observing the drawings that the ripples of that droplets falling are creating into the water.
Feeling further and further away those ripples until they become into nothingness.
We talk the calm beautiful lake.
Reminding ourselves that I is you and you is I.
I am the ground,
The earth,
I am the water.
The earth and the water are me.
And on that same place the sunshine comes and shines upon us.
You feel the warmth,
The colors around to be slightly warmer and a grade of orange and red.
The birds start to sing in celebration to that event.
You look at the sky into that warmth with the eyes closed.
Saying to yourself thank you for bringing this energy to bringing explosion of prana into the whole world,
The one I live in.
Feeling the warmth in all your body.
Feeling more and more the warmth where your hands are touching your body.
The warmth of the exhalation.
The warmth in the center of your heart.
The warmth in your whole body.
Bringing that conscious awareness to the heart cavity where you feel the chest going up and down.
Being a translation to the nose,
What is doing the nose,
In and out.
Connecting with the air element by breathing in and out deeply.
Seeing the breath as a balloon all the way from the chest to the belly and then from the belly out to the chest and then into the nose.
Seeing the breath going through the whole body with nourishment on the inhale.
And on the exhale to release substances that no longer service.
To release tension that we no longer need.
Using it as a healing tool of breathing in with nourishment.
And on the exhale,
Following that air coming out of your body as a purifying tool.
And on the exhale,
Following that air coming out of your body as a purifying tool.
Finding yourself to establish and sankalpa the intention for this nourishment and the purifying aspect of this breath.
We are many different people,
We have different situations,
So I will leave up to you to create the intention of the nourishment and the purifying aspect of this breath,
Of this element.
We will stay here for the next 10 to 15 breaths.
Until then we focus on these two qualities and when we finish these 10-15 breaths we will move into space Akash.
Very nice.
