Many blessings and welcome to this meditation on letting go of the thinking mind and coming into the power of awareness.
Let's begin by breathing in fully and as you exhale feel yourself soften and relax,
Melt away any tension.
And just for this time we are going to tell our minds,
Give our minds permission to let go.
It's almost like the mind is like a muscle that we have been using,
Maybe overusing and for the duration of this meditation we are giving that muscle of the mind the direction to relax.
And we breathe and we soften any tension in the body and almost as if we could open up,
Energetically open up the mind and all of the contents can just kind of drain out,
We're just emptying the excess,
Excess thinking and you just feel all of that releasing.
And you come into this place of just awareness,
Stillness.
It's as though you are taking a step behind all of the thinking and doing and being in touch with the awareness,
With the presence that you are,
The one who does the thinking and the speaking and the doing.
So you are simply feeling yourself,
The soul,
The being.
And rather than being taken on the ride with the mind and all the thoughts,
You've taken a step back and stepped out of the car and so to speak told the mind like a car to just okay,
Just park,
Just stop and you've gotten out and you are still and peaceful and quiet.
And it's an opportunity to rest and take a break.
We take breaks physically,
We lay down,
Maybe we read or we rest or we go for a walk.
But how often do we really take a break as well from all of the thinkingness in the mind,
All of the mental activity?
And so it's a sweet,
A sweet space with that analogy of the mind is like a car.
We wouldn't want to drive the car all the time,
It would really get worn out.
That vehicle of the mind can get worn out.
So you realize your power as a soul to stop and take a step back and be present.
And in this space of awareness,
See how you can become quieter and quieter and more and more still.
Just as an experiment out of curiosity,
How quiet and calm and still can you become?
Simply for the sake of resting,
Stopping,
Of renewing.
We are so used to using the mind and thinking,
Even for meditation,
Maybe you were using the mind to focus on a mantra or visualization.
So how lovely it is to just focus on stopping,
Taking a step back,
Giving the mind a break.
A spiritual teacher,
David Hawkins,
Would say that thoughts are almost like bait for fish.
And the more we engage with them,
It's just more and more and more getting caught up in different whirlwinds.
And really the truth that we seek,
The answers,
The clarity is already present in awareness.
The mind likes to take credit for being so clever to have come up with and made all these things happen.
But to be an embodiment of awareness is to be an embodiment of power,
Clarity.
And so enjoy basking in this place.
Here as a masterful,
Powerful soul,
You can take a moment to lay the mind to rest,
Take a nap,
Just take a little break from thinking.
And notice how the body relaxes.
And notice how everything is okay.
All is well.
Taking another few breaths as we slowly become aware we're going to come back into life and the flow of life from this meditation.
You had feeling more rested,
A little more quiet,
More still.
And with a greater perspective,
Rather than getting really narrowly caught up in our thoughts,
We've expanded out.
We can see beyond.
We can see the forest for the trees.
So that as we go back into our day,
There's more clarity.
There's more light.
There's more peace.
May you continue to experience the spaciousness,
The expanse,
The serenity of awareness.
And may you give your sweet mind a break from thinking now and again.
Emotions of love and many,
Many blessings.
