We always have access to our innate, deep well of inner wisdom and guidance. Yet sometimes the noise of the world, our minds, and our circumstances can become so loud we are disoriented and need a little support coming back home. In this guided meditation, I offer you my personal practice that guides me back to my inner knowing, back to my Self. May it guide you back to your own inner connection.

Hello,

And welcome to your Come Back to Yourself meditation.

There is so much noise in this world,

Noise that often distracts us from our own inner knowing,

From our connection to pure awareness and our true essence.

In this meditation,

I wanna offer you my personal practice that I do in moments where I need to come home.

I need to come back to myself,

To that feeling of connection deep within me.

And in those moments when I know I don't just need this connection,

But I also know that the moment is wanting to birth something new,

Some new wisdom,

Some insight,

Some option,

Path that I hadn't previously seen before.

In this practice,

We're going to connect back to ourselves,

Hold ourselves through the discomfort of whatever noise or symptoms are presenting themselves,

And trust that in doing so,

Some new insight or way forward will make itself known.

When you're ready to begin,

I invite you to settle in.

See if you can get even 5% more comfortable.

And when you've landed,

Allow your eyes to soften and close.

And then begin to slow your breath way down,

Taking some slow,

Steady breaths in and out through the nose.

Right away,

You might notice some immediate ease or connection already present itself.

Or on the other hand,

You might be really present now that you're quiet to all of the noise within.

Either way,

Stay with it and use your breath as your anchor to come back to again and again,

Any moment you start to feel disconnected or wrapped up in a thought or a story.

And then I want to invite you to bring your awareness as you breathe slowly to the body.

Take a moment first to really feel the points of connection between your body and your seat,

Ultimately between your body and the earth below you.

Feel your feet pressing into the earth.

Your legs,

Glutes,

And sit bones.

Allow yourself to rest heavy,

Releasing your weight over to the earth.

And feel the breath in your belly.

And see if you can drop the breath even a bit lower,

Really expanding the lowest reaches of your belly.

Whatever clenching is typically held in the low belly,

I invite you to leave it softened for the rest of this meditation,

To let that space,

Your rootedness,

And your seat of creative eros to be flooded with fresh breath.

And draw your awareness up the body and feel the sensation of the breath in the ribcage.

Then the sensation of the breath in the chest.

And then notice if you can release any tension lingering in the body.

Soften and relax your hands,

Your shoulders.

While still sitting up tall and in your sovereignty,

See if you can let the shoulders hang gently but heavily down away from the ears.

And soften and release any tension held in the face,

Relaxing the jaw,

Softening the muscles between the eyebrows.

We're gonna rest here now in this upright but relaxed position for eight to 10 breaths.

And there's nothing for you to do here except for to notice.

Notice what's present within.

Notice any inclination of connection you might perceive.

Notice the noise,

The discomfort.

Notice the impulse to run away or to be done with this meditation,

To get up and do something else.

Notice whatever arises emotionally,

Energetically,

Physically,

Or otherwise.

Again,

We'll rest here for eight to 10 breaths doing just that.

And as we linger here for a bit longer,

I want to invite you to take inventory of what's present within.

As we get quiet here,

What are you noticing in your internal world?

Zoom out for a moment and allow yourself to take it all in.

And then I want to invite you to lean toward connection.

Look for the place within you where you feel a sense of connection to yourself,

To your essence,

To that river beneath the river,

That part of you that's always there beneath the noise.

Now,

Don't be frustrated if you're not able to find that connection right away.

For some of us,

It might be perfectly accessible when we get quiet.

If it is,

I invite you to focus all of your energy,

Your attention to that place in the body,

To breathe into it.

But for many of us,

That point of connection to ourself is blurred,

Obscured,

Inaccessible because of the noise,

The discomfort layered around the essence that's difficult to wade through.

If that's you and you're noticing that something else is more present than a sense of connection,

I invite you to go to that thing,

Be it anxiety,

Loneliness,

Anger,

A general sense of disconnection or a story of you not belonging,

Whatever it is that is most present,

I invite you to lean in and make friends with it for a moment.

And all that really means is to be with it,

To breathe and allow yourself to notice where in the physical body that emotion,

That sensation is located and just be with it.

Together,

We're gonna rest here for another eight to 10 breaths,

Just being with whatever is most present.

Again,

Whether that is the sense of connection or something else that feels as though it's blocking connection.

There's no right or wrong way,

Only presence.

Allow yourself to connect with it and to breathe into it.

And now friend,

I invite you to soften even more.

Whatever it is within you that you are being present to,

Connection or lack of connection,

Love or discomfort,

Whatever it is,

I invite you to soften into it,

To allow yourself to meet this part of you with an open,

Soft heart.

Keep breathing and see if you can invite the shoulders to soften,

Invite the heart to soften,

Invite the belly to soften.

As we sit with whatever is within us,

Softening to receive its message,

You may notice things begin to shift and insight begin to form or new energy begin to present itself.

There are many ways that this could go,

So once again,

I invite you to simply soften and notice.

When you soften and breathe into what you are experiencing,

What happens next?

We're just here for a few more breaths.

If you're able,

I invite you to again,

Soften even more and be with whatever is within you.

And notice what happens next.

While you are still in this deep state of listening,

Of presence,

Of softening,

I want to offer you a few prompts that might be supportive to you deepening into this moment.

Take whichever one feels ripe for you in this moment and you may choose to sit with it for longer,

Resting in stillness,

Noticing what arises,

Or you may choose instead to journal.

The choice is yours,

Do whatever feels best.

Here are some prompts for you to consider.

In this very moment,

What is my inner guidance trying to communicate to me?

What does a deep connection to myself,

To my essence,

Feel like emotionally,

Energetically,

Physically,

Or otherwise?

What do I need to know right now from my inner guidance to come back home to myself?

Take as long as you'd like with any of these prompts.

Again,

Staying in stillness or opening your eyes to journal.

Remember that this connection to yourself is deeply personal and can only be truly known by being thoroughly explored.

Do not be discouraged by whatever arose in your practice today.

Whatever showed up for you today is perfect,

Is exactly what you need to come back to yourself.

Trust yourself,

Trust that there's nothing you could do to disconnect yourself from yourself and keep exploring what your unique connection feels like.
