Welcome to this seven-part series as we dive deep into balancing one chakra energy center per session.
These meditations offer an integrative practice using essential oils,
Pranayama breathing techniques,
And hand mudras.
Essential oils are optional but enhance the practice if you have them available.
Feel free to practice this meditation without oils which will still be a deeply grounding experience.
So let's get started.
Integrative Chakra Balancing Series Segment 3 Solar Plexus or Manipurna.
This is Segment 3 of Integrative Chakra Balancing where we'll explore the solar plexus chakra the Manipurna represented by the color yellow.
This is the chakra of intuition,
Creativity,
And play.
In today's meditation we'll start with an essential oil visualization,
Move into pranayamic breathing,
And finish with an energizing mudra and meditation.
To help balance the solar plexus chakra look to citrus oils which offer a cleansing and livening energy.
Choose lemon,
Pink grapefruit,
Lime,
Bergamot,
Mandarin,
And tangerine.
Other oils that energize the solar plexus chakra are juniper and rosemary with their cleansing properties and ginger and nutmeg which move stuck energy in the digestive area of the body,
The center of this chakra.
Try a simple blend of lemon and rosemary or juniper,
Pink grapefruit,
And a touch of ginger.
Take a moment now to gather your oils,
Pausing the meditation if you need to.
Now with your oils nearby find a comfortable seated position and close your eyes.
Focus your attention on the solar plexus,
The area above your navel.
When the manipurna chakra is in balance our creativity flows with an openness to divine messages,
Grace,
And a spirit of playfulness and joy.
Breathe in deeply into this area envisioning a yellow light glowing expanding on your breath.
Breathe your solar plexus in this color of sunshine replenishing,
Restoring,
And energizing the area.
Bathe your solar plexus in this color of sunshine replenishing,
Restoring,
And energizing the area.
Now imagine this glowing yellow light beginning to expand.
First it fills the entire space of your body,
Then it moves on to fill the entire space of your aura about two to three feet outside of your physical body.
Envision yourself surrounded and supported by this joyful creative golden light.
Still meditating on this golden yellow light imagine it expanding beyond your aura to fill your home or whatever interior space you're in.
Allow it to grow to fill your larger neighborhood,
Your city,
Country,
And beyond the earth flowing into the endless space of our universe.
Know that the source of your creativity and intuition is that big,
A boundless supply available to you at all times.
Now open your chosen solar plexus chakra oil and roll or drop a few drops onto your palms.
Bring your palms near your face and breathe in deeply sealing this energy of joy and abundance into your awareness.
Join me now for Bastrika Pranayama or Bellows breath to invigorate and energize the solar plexus chakra.
It's similar to Kapalabhati or breath of fire which we did for the sacral chakra.
However Bastrika comes from higher in the abdominal region.
Sit in a stable sitting posture perhaps lifting your hips onto a pillow or blanket.
Raise your shoulders up to your ears and release them down the back lengthening and straightening your spine.
Breathe.
Now place one hand below your navel and the other above it.
Keep in mind that during the practice the belly expands on inhalation and contracts on exhalation.
Keep your nose,
Mouth,
Jaw and throat relaxed.
Take a couple of normal breaths here getting grounded in the body feeling your belly expand on the inhale and contract on the exhale.
We'll begin Bellows breath on an inhalation with the stomach expanding.
It's approximately one second in one second out like this.
Now join me for 10 seconds of Bastrika.
If you ever feel dizzy stop and rest with normal breathing.
If you have heart disease,
High blood pressure or hernias you may choose to take deep breaths instead as this breath may not be appropriate.
If you are joining me let's begin.
Continue at your own pace.
Now take one long deep breath into the belly and then return to a normal breath here.
To help balance the third chakra with a hand mudra we'll now practice Ratna Prabha or gesture of the radiant jewel which brings vitality and radiance.
Interlace all your fingers with your right thumb on top your palms pressed together.
Now extend your index and middle fingers straight forward joining along their length.
Only the ring and pinky fingers remain interwoven.
Rest the wrists on the upper abdomen with the extended fingers pointing forward.
Breathe.
Relax your shoulders back and down with your elbows held gently away from the body and your spine naturally straight.
Take several deep breaths here.
Now relax your hands back on your thighs and open your eyes gently ready to return to your day with renewed vigor and energy.
Rumi tells us when you do things from your soul you feel a river moving in you a joy.
Namaste.
