This is Segment 2 of a 7-part, yoga-inspired chakra meditation series that integrates essential oils with visualizations, pranayama breathing and hand mudras for deeply grounding, calming and balancing effects. This segment focuses on the Sacral chakra – our center of beauty, sensuality and pleasure. Essential oils are optional, but enhance the practice if you have them available. Feel free to practice this meditation without oils, which will still be a deeply grounding experience. If you're using essential oils, here's what I recommend for the Sacral chakra: Jasmine, Ylang Ylang, Neroli and/or Rose Geranium. You may choose to use one oil for this chakra, or to make a blend – each of these oils blend wonderfully with woods in the pine and fir families, as well as citruses such as orange, tangerine and bergamot.

Welcome to this seven-part series as we dive deep into balancing one chakra energy center per session.

These meditations offer an integrative practice using essential oils,

Pranayama breathing techniques,

And hand mudras.

Essential oils are optional but enhance the practice if you have them available.

Feel free to practice this meditation without oils which will still be a deeply grounding experience.

So let's get started.

Integrative Chakra Balancing Series Segment 2,

Sacral Chakra,

Svaristhana.

This is Segment 2 of Integrative Chakra Balancing where we'll explore the Sacral Chakra,

The Svaristhana,

Represented by the color orange.

This is the Chakra of Sensuality and Beauty.

It's our eternally rich source of passion and pleasure.

In today's meditation we'll start with an essential oil visualization,

Move into pranayamic breathing,

And finish with an energizing mudra and meditation.

Here are my suggested essential oils for the Sacral Chakra.

Jasmine,

Lang Lang,

Neroli,

And Rose Geranium.

Gather them now or pause and make a blend that you enjoy.

Each of these essences would blend wonderfully with the woods in the pine and fir families as well as citruses such as orange,

Tangerine,

And bergamot.

Try a simple blend of white pine and rose geranium or perhaps tangerine and lang lang.

If you choose to use oils,

Gather them now.

Now with your chosen oils nearby,

Find a comfortable seated position and close your eyes.

Bring your shoulders up to your ears and release them with an exhale,

Fully relaxing the body.

Repeat this a couple more times with an audible exhale if that's comfortable for you to do so.

Now breathe into the belly to the count of three and exhale to the count of five.

Repeat this pattern a couple more times finding a sense of presence within yourself.

Bring your awareness to just below your belly button to your Sacral Chakra,

The area of sensuality,

Beauty,

And pleasure.

Feel yourself breathe into this area,

Letting it gently soften and expand on your breath,

Taking in nourishment and life-force energy.

Envision a glowing orange light as you breathe,

Offering pleasure and inspiration.

Watch the orange light of your Svaristhana Chakra begin to spin and the area begin to clear,

Gaining ease and aliveness.

Feel the sense of joy,

Abundance,

And sensuality that is your birthright.

Now envision this glowing orange light begin to break into pieces,

Forming a variety of flowers,

Poppies,

Roses,

Tulips,

A garden of your favorite flowers,

Any that delight you.

Feel them dancing inside you,

Their perfume sweetening your insides.

As these beautiful flowers dance and play,

Feel a sense of unlimited possibilities for beauty and pleasure in your own life.

Savor this sense of sensuality and sweetness that is you.

Now reach for your oil or blend and roll or sprinkle a few drops into your palms.

Breathe in deeply,

Inhaling the delicate chemical remedy of these essential plant energies and sealing this sacral chakra energy into your awareness.

Feel the presence of the energy of your body and your mind.

Feel the presence of your body and your mind.

Feel the presence of your body and your mind.

Now reach for your oil or blend and roll or sprinkle a few drops into your palms.

Feel the presence of the energy of your body and your mind.

Feel the presence of the energy of your body and your mind.

Feel the presence of the energy of your body and your mind.

Feel the presence of the energy of your body and your mind.

Feel the presence of the energy of your body and your mind.

Now we'll begin an energizing pranayama breathing practice called breath of fire or kapalabhati.

Still seated in a comfortable position,

Exhale all your air out and prepare to inhale.

In preparation for this breath,

Bring your hands to your lower belly,

Palms gently warming your sacral chakra area.

Breathe in deeply,

Feeling your belly rise on the in-breath and feel your abdomen contract on the slow exhale.

Repeat this two more times.

As we start the breath of fire,

Think of taking one breath per second.

With lips and eyes closed,

Exhale forcefully,

Feeling your abdomen retract,

Like that.

Your inhale will come naturally with a gentle expansion of the abdomen.

The breath sounds like this.

Focus on the forceful exhales,

Allowing the inhale to happen naturally.

Begin the breath now,

Repeating for 30 seconds at your own pace or stopping if ever it feels Now returning to a normal breath,

Release your hands back on your thighs.

We'll close out this integrative sacral chakra balancing with a kanisha sharira mudra or gesture of the lower body.

Continue to sit in your comfortable seated position,

Perhaps cross-legged or moving to a kneeling position with your bottom resting on your feet.

Bring your hands in front of your lower belly,

Palms down,

With the fingers of each hand sealed together so there's no space in between the fingers.

Your elbows are bent at your sides,

Creating a triangular space between your arms and body.

Your hands in front of you are about four inches from each other.

And breathe.

Focus your attention on the sacral area.

Realize the color orange and its playful energy of vitality,

Beauty and sensuality.

Feel it expanding through the area,

Warming and energizing it.

With your hand mudra in place,

Breathe in deeply three or four more times.

Now release your hands,

Placing them gently on your thighs,

Return to a normal breath.

Flutter your eyes open and prepare to move forward with greater ease,

Joy and comfort in your body.

Rumi says,

Forget safety.

Live where you fear to live.

Destroy your reputation.

Be notorious.

Namaste.

Very good. I obtain multiple forms of experiences - physically, and sensually through rubbing hands and filling my soul with the oil, as well as the pranayama, and the mudra. This allows me to understand and feel connected to each Chakra. Thank you Stephanie.
