A short guided meditation for connecting to your own inner wisdom. Using breath work, you will be guided to connect with your heart and throat chakra, and find the insight needed to guide you through the day.

Find a comfortable position.

Maybe sat in your favourite chair with your feet grounded on the floor.

Or perhaps in the lotus position with your spine upright,

Crown held high.

Take a deep breath and close your eyes.

Inhale,

Fill the belly.

And as you exhale,

Release down into your seat.

Allow the breath to settle to its natural rhythm.

Without altering it.

Simply resting in awareness.

Allow the body to relax.

Know that you are safe in this moment.

Now direct your attention to the body-breath connection.

Be aware of each inhalation and exhalation.

Feel the breath flow easily.

Visualise the breath as a fine thread of blue light.

A ray of light which leads to your source.

Through your breath you are constantly connected to the universe.

Inhale fresh energy and vitality.

Exhale used energy and fears.

Expand your awareness out now.

To infinity.

See your inner space filled with rays of light.

That cosmic energy being drawn to you.

You inhale and exhale light.

You are the centre through which life flows without interruption.

Your inner world exists within your heart space.

And your throat chakra helps you listen.

To seek truths.

This is the world of past,

Present and future.

I invite you now to go inside to this space.

To rest in awareness here as an observer.

And to see what your space can tell you today.

Open your heart and listen.

Take your awareness from this space up to the throat.

Allow light to flow.

See the light and know that it protects you and provides inner warmth.

Be honest with yourself.

Examine your now.

Try to gain clarity over the problems you're facing,

However big or small.

Know that you have the strength and the insight to change your point of view.

To change the outcome.

Rest in awareness here.

Observing.

Listening.

Listening to your intuition.

Inhale and exhale purity.

Inhale and exhale calm.

Inhale and exhale purity.

Inhale and exhale purity.

Inhale and exhale purity.

Inhale and exhale purity.

Take a deep breath now.

Notice how the body responds to the breath.

Deepen your awareness of your physical body.

Use your senses to bring yourself back to the physical.

Inhale deeply.

Lift the hands above the head.

Enjoy a full body stretch.

Bring yourself completely back.

Fantastic! I like that my mind was allowed to wander. My belief about meditation is that it's okay for the mind to wander and the monkey mind to kick in, but the key is to pause the thoughts and ask yourself whether the thoughts are useful or not. Useful thoughts include solutions, affirmations or intuitive messages (among others). Thoughts that aren't useful can include worry, grocery lists and general distraction.
