Welcome to this meditation on self-love.
Today my hope is that you will find yourself able to love yourself more.
Self-love is not selfish.
It is the most selfless thing that you can do.
For this is where your power lies.
Your ability to love yourself is directly proportional to the amount of love you can give to others and receive from others.
So find a comfortable seated position where you won't be disturbed,
But not too comfortable that you'll fall asleep.
And take a nice deep breath in through your nose and exhale it through your open mouth.
And then gently close your eyes.
Notice your breath in your chest and abdomen.
Take a few more deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Notice the rhythm of your breath and start to bring your awareness into your heart center.
Feel the warmth of this space.
Feel the warmth of the love emanating within you.
Appreciate yourself now.
Appreciate your strong body,
Your beating heart.
Appreciate your breath coming in and out of your lungs.
Appreciate your abilities and your capacity.
You do so much and you are so much to so many.
You love others so much.
Let these thoughts of love land on yourself once in a while.
Let your awareness settle on your heart.
I'll keep the time and just allow your awareness to rest in this loving space for a few minutes.
Notice what's coming up in this practice.
Are the thoughts loving?
Are they fearful or angry?
Just notice whatever comes up when you rest your awareness here.
Deepening into your heart space.
Allowing this feeling of love to emanate throughout your entire body.
This is your practice for daily self love.
Filling your cup so that you can be there for others.
What does loving yourself feel like to you?
Take a moment here to think about this.
For me,
It feels like taking a moment in the chaos of the day to turn my head towards the sun and take a deep breath.
It feels like letting my shoulders relax down my back.
It feels like a warm hug.
The more you practice this,
The more you'll be able to come back to this loving place throughout your day whenever things get hard or stressful.
Just know that you have everything you need right here in this moment within you.
Your heart is your own safe haven and your breath is your guide.
Take a few more moments to rest in this deeply healing space.
You can stay in this loving space as long as you like or begin to bring your awareness back into the room.
Wiggling your fingers and toes and when you are ready,
Open your eyes.
Now let all of this go and be pleased with yourself now for deepening your understanding of what self love feels like to you.
Come back to this practice as often as you like and you'll start to see the effects loving yourself has on all of the relationships in your life.
Namaste.
