When you've been in a situation that's just as stressful and it,
Then the stress is mounting and people are just sort of feeding off of each other.
And you might be tempted to say,
Calm down,
Or someone might've said that to you,
Calm down.
Like when has that ever been helpful?
It's not as if you can just flip a switch and calm down,
Right?
What I'm here to share with you is a method that I'm calling sing-along switch that helps me when I'm feeling overwhelmed or stressed.
I call it the shortcut to calm because it really does snap you out of,
Um,
Whatever it is that you're spiraling into.
Let me introduce myself.
My name is April.
I am a mom,
A musician and a military veteran.
And I help thousands of people through sing-along meditations that I create.
And what I'm going to share with you today is taking it just that extra step further.
Sing-along switch is a call and response style of singing and tapping.
Tapping is a way of lowering our cortisol levels and lowering our stress.
And also it's a pattern interrupter.
The tapping has been around for a while.
Um,
And obviously singing has been around for a while,
But the combination of the two is something that I have not found anywhere else.
So I'm going to go through the tapping points before I start singing.
But the first one I use is right between my eyebrow points.
The second one is on the side of my eye and then under my eye,
Under my nose,
Under my bottom lip collarbone.
So it's right underneath your collarbone.
And then here's the one,
Sometimes they call this like the monkey point,
Um,
Or if you're a female wearing a bra,
That's where your bra strap is.
And then we end on the top of our heads.
The beauty of tapping is that you cannot screw it up.
And that's why I love it so much.
All right.
Even in the chaos,
I can find the calm.
We're going to sing and tap.
I always put in this disclaimer.
If you're uncomfortable with the tapping or the singing,
Everything here is totally optional.
Here we go.
I can find the calm.
I can find the calm.
When I'm feeling low,
When I'm feeling low,
There is room to grow.
There is room to grow.
Even though there's chaos,
Even though there's chaos,
I can find the calm.
I can find the calm.
