Find your seat and just simply gather yourself in the center of your being.
Checking in with your breath.
Just notice the quality of your inhalations and your exhalations.
Breathe in slowly and deeply and breathe out gently and completely.
Feel yourself fill up on this inhale and feel yourself empty out on this exhale.
The intention of this meditation is to select a quality of life that you want to experience and let yourself be immersed in it.
In this practice,
We set our intention on happiness.
As you arrive in your practice,
I invite you to explore the quality of life that you would like to be saturated by,
That brings about a sense of happiness for you.
Perhaps it's an event or part of your journey.
Perhaps it's a childhood memory or memories of a recent event.
Perhaps it's a hobby or even what you do for a living.
Whatever it may be,
Allow yourself to become saturated by the sensations that come up when you allow yourself to immerse yourself in.
What is your quality of life that makes you happy?
What images come up?
Is there anyone in particular that comes to mind?
What are the sounds or smells or movements that are connected to the quality of happiness that you have set your intention upon?
As you breathe in,
Fill yourself up with sensations of happiness.
And as you exhale,
Allow yourself to let something go that might interfere with your immersion of this quality of life.
I invite you to come up with a word or phrase in whatever language that represents quality of happiness that you feel attracted to right now.
Perhaps maybe you might whisper the words that come up or just simply allow them to be thoughts or sounds or images,
Felt sensations in your heart and in your mind.
Finally give yourself complete permission to be with these thoughts,
These images,
Sounds and felt sensations.
Notice the quality of your breath now that you have immersed yourself in the thoughts Are you breathing a little more freely?
Notice your heart.
Notice your heartbeat.
You find yourself feeling excitement or peaceful.
Focus your attention on how happiness shows up in your breath,
In your heart and in your mind.
Recall the word or phrase that you have come up with.
Welcome back the sound,
The meaning,
The feelings that come with the words.
This is your mantra that has come from your own inner wisdom.
Continue to be with your mantra.
Breathe with the sounds of the words and the spaces between the words.
Continue to welcome the rhythms,
The emotions,
The sensations evoked.
Allow yourself to continue to journey with your words.
Allow yourself a few more spacious breaths.
Notice how you are feeling.
Notice what it was like to be on this inner journey of connecting to your desire,
Your intention for happiness.
Is there anything you would like to remember from this experience?
Is there anything you would like to take with you as you move back into the world and back into the rhythm of your day?
Begin to rub your fingertips together to gently reawaken and gradually make bigger movements.
As you are ready on your next inhale,
Sweep your arms overhead,
Palms meet,
And exhale.
