Welcome to the Heart Center Meditation.
My name is Dr.
Anne-Marie Chiasson,
And I want to share a simple yet powerful and healing meditation with you.
While meditations that incorporate heart energy are thousands of years old,
This version was taught to me by Dr.
William Burjoy.
The music is by Karanesh.
He has generously allowed me to use this music for this meditation.
The album is The Heart Chakra Meditation,
Published in 2008 by Karanesh Music.
We will be using the first three tracks,
Phase North,
Phase East,
And Phase South.
The Heart Center Meditation is a generative meditation.
It focuses on creating or generating energy at the heart chakra,
A transpersonal or communal state of consciousness accessed through the heart center,
Which is right in the center of your chest.
Right at the center of the breast area.
There's a hand position that goes with this meditation,
And it allows you to create more energy at the heart center.
When I begin to describe it,
Give it a try.
While I use the hand position throughout the meditation,
If it's strenuous for you,
Either push into your chest a little bit and hold yourself there,
Or drop your hands after the initial induction into your lap,
Yet keep your hands one over the other still touching.
This will continue the energy circuit at the heart.
To get started,
I will describe the hand position and then begin the induction with the heart center attributes.
I will play some music for the meditation,
And at two points,
I will re-induct you into the heart center attributes.
Stay with the attributes,
Perhaps repeating one internally with each breath.
I will call you out at the end of the meditation,
So go wherever this takes you.
There's movement at the heart center,
So if you find your body moving,
Go ahead and allow it to move.
There's no need to sit still.
This is about generating energy at the heart,
Rather than being still.
If thoughts arise,
Just bring the attributes up to meet them.
We will begin.
Place your hands over the center of your chest.
Right hand first,
With the left hand over the right hand,
Thumbs touching.
As you do this now,
Close your eyes and envision your hands full of gratitude or unconditional love.
Practice the art of compassionate touch,
Touching your own body with reverence and awe,
The way you would touch a newborn,
Your beloved,
Or something of great awe and wonder for you.
See for a moment if you can tell how this touch feels to the body.
Touching ourselves right here at the heart center begins the meditation.
Reassure your thoughts that you'll be back in 20 minutes,
And now we'll move on to the attributes.
The heart center has four attributes.
The first is compassion.
With your breath and using image or feeling,
Invite compassion in.
Activate it within.
Compassion.
Oceanic,
Boundless,
Limitless compassion.
Compassion for self first.
Compassion.
The second attribute,
Innate harmony.
Innate harmony.
With your breath,
Image,
Feeling,
Invite in innate harmony.
Activate it.
It's the calm in the midst of chaos,
The eye of the hurricane,
Infinite still bliss.
Activate it.
Innate harmony.
The third attribute of the heart center,
Healing presence.
Healing presence.
It's the desire and the longing for healing.
Love in action.
With your breath,
Invite it in.
Activate it.
Healing presence.
And now the fourth attribute,
Unconditional love.
Unconditioned.
Unconditional.
This isn't personal love.
It's transpersonal.
It's reverence and awe for exactly how things are in this moment.
Using your breath,
Invite it in.
Activate it.
Unconditional love.
Compassion.
Innate harmony.
Healing presence.
Unconditional love.
I'll call you out when the meditation is over.
With your breath,
Drop in even more deeply.
Compassion.
Oceanic compassion.
Innate harmony.
Calm in the midst of chaos.
Healing presence.
Love in action.
Unconditional love.
Reverence and awe.
Again,
With your breath,
Dropping in even more deeply.
Compassion.
Innate harmony.
Healing presence.
Unconditional love.
Come back now to the present,
To where you're sitting.
If you like,
Before you come all the way out of this meditation,
Practice the art of collapsing time and space and send a little of what you're in touch with right now to some point in the next few days or in the next week where you imagine you might need some energy from the heart.
Use your imagination and breathe what you're in touch with now into that point in the future.
Good.
Now come back to the present moment.
Come back to where you're seated.
Open your eyes and notice your body flooded with heart energy for the day.
I recommend that you do this meditation daily for at least five minutes.
Thank you so much for joining me.
